hi hello ive been working on this since [checks] a lot

anyway since i can get away with it, here's my explanations for the animal choice decisions that i think are more personal than anything:
- decided to go with villager and NPC models instead of creating customized villagers, which meant i had to find animals i felt fit the guys whose motifs didn't translate directly, which was fun on its own tbh.
- nishiki is using the wolf model, but he's based off of a black fox!
- majima is a deer because the recently released Shino is just?? perfect??? oni horns are cooler than just making him a dog imo!!!!!
- daigo gets to be small <3
- rikiya's a dog cuz he follows kiryu like a puppy and i love and treasure him
- akiyama's a secretary bird because: have you seen that video of a secretary bird kicking the shit out of a fake cobra
- park's color scheme is similar to haruka's because she is her Evil Mom Who Needs Therapy, and this happened after i made the decision to make her a cat but her being a cat and haruka a hamster rly does reflect the predatory nature of the idol business imo patting myself on the back for that one
- kept makoto and tachibana as the same villager bc siblings :)
- sorry tom nook but nishitani gets to be a tanuki bc they are notoriously horny in folk tales LOLLLL
