But not a scary one. I know Star Wars droids are typically angular, edgy and a little worrisome, but I really wanted a look that seemed softer and more approachable; something you wouldn't mind being wheeled down a corridor by because you feel like he's taking you somewhere that will fix you. Some inspiration from the clean whites of Kamino, and maybe a dash of Star Trek.
Alternatively it came up in conversation that Piffin could well be a D&D artificer, with DRG-1N as her automaton. I'm kind of find with either explanation. Tbh, I'm not sure why I have designed them to fit within either SW5E or D&D, just sometimes it helps to have some boundaries to work to.

Artificer sounds like a fun class to play. Also Piffin is adorable.
Never even considered trying artificer until I realised I could potentially do this with it :') I'm not sure SW5E natively allows you to have a droid this big... but there are classes with smaller droids that are allowed to have blasters and do useful tasks, so I imagine I could negotiate with a DM to have a big one that can carry stuff but maybe isn't so good with weaponry ^^
I would allow it if I was DM, but I never played with people who were really sticklers for the rules. A friend who I used to play with managed to do more with mage hand than nearly any spell.
I need to ponder this... one of my DMs allows non-combat cantrips as bonus actions. But I am bad in the moment and need to write down some plans!
