I heard a bit of a legend about some guys in the 70s who played a whole lot of arcade Pong by making "ice quarters" using a mold and putting them into the machine. When the machine's owner looked inside, there was no money, but a small layer of water at the bottom of the coin mech.
Genius enough that Nolan Bushnell, founder of Atari and Chuck E. Cheese, heard about it and tells the story in interviews to this day.
