Last but not least for the speculated lines for the Gen 9 starters is Quaxly, who was easily the hardest to try and come up with a concept for, thankfully a youtuber named Nikachu gave me and idea to go off of, in his video titled "Get to know the new starter pokemon" he speculated that Quaxly's name is not only an obvious reference to the word Quack, which is the sound a duck makes, but also the spanish novel called Don Quixote, which depicts a spanish soldier on the front cover. Quaxly would eventually evolve into Esquacker, a combination of the words Esquire, and Quack (the beak part of the helmet goes down btw). Then Esquacker will eventually gain his knighthood and evolve into the noble Waddldado, whose name is a combination of the words Waddle, and Soldado, which is the spanish word for soldier. The water starters are typically themed after forms of weapondry, so I gave Waddldado a sword and shield, initially they were supposed to be made of water like Gigantimaxed Inteleon's sniper rifle, though I guess there are plenty of pokemon who pull objects form nowhere when they evolve so it's whatever. Anyway, hope you guys enjoyed what I think the new starter evolutions will look like, I'm really excited for Scarlet and Violet.
