This was something suggested by a friend that got my creative juices flowing. It's a reinterpretation of the Touhou series and its characters into kind of developing a wholly original setting with the same characters from the series. I'll let it speak for itself!
Touhou Neo
Danmaku: Danmaku in this world is not merely a way to settle disputes or difficulties artistically. It’s a pastime, an art, a binding negotiation and way of life. To properly engage in Danmaku, two artifacts must be wagered and used. These can be a basic weapon or heirloom, a pebble from a lake, but among those who engage in Danmaku seriously what will be wagered and used is one’s, a special tool to assist oneself. When a Danmaku is fought and concluded, the artifact is surrendered to the other as a token of concession. Periapts can be wagered similarly. They often exchange hands this way, although the most potent among them find themselves changing hands far less. A Periapt cannot be stolen or taken by any other means but Danmaku and can be returned to the current owner’s hands by simply calling its name.
Name: "Reimu - Shrine Maiden"
Abilities:
Spraysoul Orison • Whoever is blessed by Reimu, physically unlocks their full potential and acts at absolute fruition; Someone starting at Level 1 would jump to Lv 99 with maxed luck and unlocked skillset. The blessing is granted to any shrine that is holding Reimu's banner and all shrine staff members. After the blessing is granted to a shrine member, all shrine staff members get a chance to pick a new person to bless as a follow-up, if they want to. The blessing lasts for one full day, even though staff members can request a new one before it runs out.
Phantom Drive • Reimu unlocks Dullahan form, becoming a knight-armor centaur with a decapitated floating head and a wispy trail. She summons a number of spirits to drive through obstacles in this state. They're much like normal spirits, but they're not considered the same as normal spirits and cannot be used as shrine staff for various reasons. These spirits are from dependent on Reimu's stats and abilities, but let her form barriers, chase and track targets, incarcerate and curse others and form a 'soul road' that lets her trot skywards at highspeed - Using this, she traveled from Mount Fuji to Ireland in about 2 seconds. This power was taught to her by Youmu as gratitude for saving her life one time and Reimu her persistent faith up. Like Youmu's Phantom Drive, it lets her slip through the cracks of the physical world and phase thru the spirit planes when needed.
Personality: Known for her creativity and artistic passion, Reimu enjoys art and spraypainting among the Hakurei Shrine. She is a known sapphic and bit of a pervert, thought to be a social misfit and usually given oddjobs. She later discovers Rei Makoto who arrives at her doorstep, a wanted japanese punk girl on the run who is her human counterpart, and is tasked with indoctrinating her into prayer and religious piety- a task most consider impossible. Reimu often threatens her with prison time, but becomes attached overtime. She cares greatly about her 'little sister' and has had to stop gang wars between her Shrine and other Shrines that Rei has started.
Bio: Reimu is in actuality, a Pooka raised by the Druidic Dullahan wards of Ireland. Traditionally shapeshifters known to bring good and bad luck, she was found by a member and they attempted to educate her in the art of celtic meditation, but found her impulsiveness too big an obstacle, many members citing she literally lead them to start drinking. After she was sent to the Harukei Shrine to learn discipline, she ended up spraypainting and pulling pranks on her new staff. She is a known Sapphic and dabbles often in fetishistic imagery, it's known she's attempted to summon a nymphomaniac succumbi friend numerous times. The girl later learns to shapeshift as a perk, her true form a furry bear-like beast. When her wanted human counterpart arrives and hides in her cubboard, Rei Makoto, a japanese punk delinquent on the run, Reimu freaks out and threatens to send her to prison. Their relationship starts a little rocky, with Rei attempting to steal her identity and life, but later they become closely bonded and Reimu turns fiercely protective of her 'sister'. She has an Irish flag by her bedside.
Dwelling: Hakurei Shrine. A Shinto shrine that educates others in the shinto religion and holds numerous practitioners. After the Druid Dullahan wards sent Reimu there reform, she started spraypainting the Shrine and sprucing it up with celtic charms. She had to build her pentagram summoning-shrine in the woods 100m behind the Hakurei Shrine, due to it alluding to a succubus Reimu knew, succubi being considered unholy.
Periapt: Shrine Staff
𝕾𝖕𝖊𝖊𝖉 - ★★★★☆ 𝕻𝖔𝖜𝖊𝖗 -★★☆☆☆ 𝕽𝖆𝖓𝖌𝖊 - ★★★★☆ 𝕾𝖕𝖊𝖈𝖎𝖆𝖑 -★★★☆☆
A holy staff of knotted reeds said to come from the forests of Stonehenge, it can shoot a fast, heavy continuous propulsion beam that can knock back and send an opponent anywhere, be to the Moon or through the opposite side of the earth. Its pacifistic nature prevents it from doing serious damage or harming those hit by it, in fact its been known to heal others at times. Reimu must say a short prayer before using it. When a kaiju invaded and attacked the Scarlet Devil Mansion, she used it to send them across the Asian continent until they crashed just beyond India.
Trivia: As a Púca, she can take any humanoid form and also that of a Dullahan. The Lunarians mistook her for a rabbit once however. Her Púca form can brawl quite aggressively when needed.
Name: "Marisa - Cocky Witch"
Abilities: As she is a magical girl, she has powers like flight and magic, and is able to do things like teleportation, creating magical butterflies, and controlling others' hearts. She can fuse with spiritual entities, or call upon them to enter her body and grant her new forms and abilities. She has 5 'Curse keys', each amplifying her abilities exponentially, although she loses herself with each level accessed. At Level 5 she would fuse with Shion herself. Her greatest ability is simply her ridiculous resilience and determination.
Personality: Marisa is spontaneous, cheerful, hyperactive, adventurous and mischievous. She loves to party and loves even more a good fight. The good luck her way seems to mirror to bad luck for everyone else, and she's not too keen on this perk. Marisa doesn't mind getting her hands dirty, her favorite magic spells summon giant kitty cats and quokkas. Her favorite tools are 15th and 17th century weaponry. Marisa is somewhat sheepish about how she's influenced history.
Bio: Marisa is a young magician from a far away kingdom in ancient Persia who became powerful and became the "Princess of tricksters" by tricking the Shion sisters, two siblings who form separate halves of the same goddess Shion, representing good and bad omens respectively. In penance for this trick, she received a blessing and a curse- she would gradually and passively train the Luck of any nation, country, kingdom or land she was in and enhance her own. This would make her fortune naturally miraculous and let everything go her way, but has the inverse effect of bringing ruin to said home, bringing about disaster. The first time she learned this was the civilization of Atlantis, and later she did it again to the Roman Empire in Pompeii. Due to the locals being forbidden myths, Marisa's ability appears to be offset in Gensokyo. Her attempts to petition and serve Shion and her Celestial guardians to remove her blessing/curse have often lead to disaster.
Dwelling: Marisa lives in the clocktower in Fableworld, an isle town above even older than Gensokyo itself, a jovial lively town of European influence where she regularly protects the residents and participates in its creative festivals, concerts, carnivals and magical shows. A town of culture and learning, a place to create and thrive, Marisa considers it above all else her home. Being above the boundary of Gensokyo seems to offset her curse on the town.

Name: "Sakuya - Perfect and Elegant Maid"
Abilities:
Bird Watching • An ability granted to by the Egyptian god Horus, she can manifest and conjure avians out of inorganic material. Robins, ravens, eagles, condors, vultures, ostriches, emus and ostriches, any bird one can imagine. This extends to griffins and even a T-rex. There is seemingly no limit or exhaustion, as Sakuya can literally blot out the sky pitchblack with feathered friends if she chooses and form mountains worth of birds.
Adaptive regeneration and Mimicry • By using the Cockatrice's paralysis, her body turns to stone - inorganic material, where she can in turn transudate her body using bird parts, making herself into a Chimera.
Hummingheart • With the blessing of the Hummingbird, she can accelerate her speed to such extreme heights that others appear frozen in time.
Dragonheart • A skill that grants Sakuya control over fire breathing reptiles. The control of these beasts is only granted by the dragon of a forgotten land, and Sakuya is the chosen heir.
Sphinxheart • Her most enigmatic ability fuses her with the Sphinx and gives her control the sands, where she can cast spells upon the sands and reshape reality. She can manipulate the gravity to an extent where some planets have their own moons, and even form black holes.
Bio: Sakuya was raised by "Mother Peacan", a large colorful songbird goddess in the Valley's hidden conservatorium, a large underground birdcage known for its melodies and enchanting vocals. The tunnels and structures contained not only all manner of birds, but many animal life and fauna. In this environment Sakuya grew up learning the ways of all manner of creatures, training her singing voice in the process. Where she came from, she believed to be irrelevant and even took up the way of the blade by the Mantis King. When she turned 18, Sakuya suddenly felt overcome by an urge to violence, and attempted to attack her 'Mother' on the spot. Peacan was forced to defend herself, and out of fear of hurting her family, Sakuya stabbed herself. She awoke in the underworld next to Horus, a god of death, but found there were two of her. Before Mother Peacan found her she was actually borne of destructive Oni, whom the Mother had to defend herself and her flock from once. Sakuya hit her head and was found by Peacan as a young child, her former Oni self suppressed and forgotten. Horus offered to revive her, but said they could only revive 'half' of her, the human persona or the Oni. Believing only her counterpart could protect her, her human half chose the Oni to be revived. In awe of her sacrifice, Horus made a deal and her human self was revived as a Macaw and gifted speech. When Sakuya reawoke, she found Youmu attempting to interrogate Mother Peacan in a kind of 'audit', telling her that her status was fading and the mere animals there wouldn't be enough faith to keep her title and status as a goddess going, she threatened to repossess some of her 'worshippers' by taking several birds and turtles with her. Sakuya reacted in earnest anguish, battling and defending her home in a drawn out subterranean battle. The first of many conflicts the two would have after her defiant stand.
After fending Youmu off, Mother Peacan believed she could do great good in the world and helped to pack her Gensokyo outside. Sakuya became a wanderer and animistic swordswoman, fighting with two blades the 'Mantis style' she was taught, enjoying her aimless path.
Dwelling: Sakuya considers the road her home. She’ll be fine in a hut, a tent, a hotel or local shrine and has a rather good social journeywoman outlook throughout Gensokyo. She’ll visit the musical birdcage when opportunity arise, usually to loud and celebratory feasts thrown by her mother.
Periapt: Chains of Hell's judgement
𝕾𝖕𝖊𝖊𝖉 - ★★★☆☆ 𝕻𝖔𝖜𝖊𝖗 -★★☆☆ 𝕽𝖆𝖓𝖌𝖊 - ★★★★☆ 𝕾𝖕𝖊𝖈𝖎𝖆𝖑 - ★★☆☆☆
Said to be the original chains of Christ of Nazareth, and later holding Judas Iscariot in hell. These chains can hold an enemy to the ends of the world. Its length can shift and be determined by the user, whether across civilization or even as short as a pair of handcuffs. They are 100% indestructible and can regenerate and multiply when resisted. The user can wield them like long lengthy, speedy projectiles.
Name: "Youmu - Gardener and bodyguard"
Abilities:
Intuition of Desolation • An ability granted her from the Aztec god of death in which she can intuitively understand the doom and destruction of physical objects, lives and even immaterial concepts, including beliefs and systems. With a squeeze of her hand she can manipulate these concepts, crumbling a bridge or mountain into dust with a squeeze for instance, or destroy aggression, skepticism, doubt, and weigh the balance of desolation in other's minds. This ability can even extend to her sword.
Phantom Drive • As she was only granted 'half-life', she is between life and death. Youmu can phase her body to shift through attacks and barriers, and apply to her blade to split the material world from its spiritual counterpart- cutting between the lines of living bodies has some unintended side effects, as she learned with Sakuya in the past.
Personality: Cold. Detached. Dutiful. Logical and rational. Pragmatic. Has a very slight angle of charisma to her machinations. Her arch rival is Sakuya.
Bio: Raised as a dutiful maiden and guardian of the Netherhouse off the streets, she was unaware that she "died" in a blizzard in the North Atlantic. While her soul awaited judgement, she was passed up due to Sakuya distracting Horus's time and being given a 'resurrection' while she was passed up. However before her soul could be dissipated into heaven or hell it garnered the interest of another god of the underworld- Mictlāntēcutli, who blessed her with intuition of desolation, and delivered her to the prestigious Netherhouse. Youmu serves them Netherhouse as a 'Faith Butcher', a kind of tax collector of sorts for the spirits and divine beings, and sometimes even a repomen or butcher. Essentially she goes around collecting faith from the living and if need be, forcibly extracting belief and conviction through forcible means. She considers her purpose in life to extract prayers from the faithless and those whose blessings and fortune have run up on their heavenly debt. Due to their past, she has a severe distates for Sakuya, the two often clashing, which is just as well because the Netherhouse despises Sakuya even as a partycrasher and visitor of their realm, considering that 'chirpy girl' an absolute nuisance. To continue living, she must keep collecting prayers, should she fail Mictlāntēcutli has fortold she would be sent to Hades in the river styx to 'Pay off his own debts with a fellow god.'
Dwelling: She lives in a very simple white room within the Netherhouse, complete with closet, bed and a sink. From the outside window a cracked canyon can be seen.
Periapt: Excalibur
𝕾𝖕𝖊𝖊𝖉 -★★★☆☆ 𝕻𝖔𝖜𝖊𝖗 - ★★★★☆ 𝕽𝖆𝖓𝖌𝖊 - ★★☆☆☆ 𝕾𝖕𝖊𝖈𝖎𝖆𝖑 - ★☆☆☆☆
The legendary sword of Arthurian legend, Youmu claims she won it in a poker game with a wizard one time. She always uses the backside, never the cutting edge as doing so would severe the ties of spirit from physical matter, never a good result. Due to using the backside, it's typically applied as a long-range wind cutting weapon, a projectile instead of a melee tool. The sword can bypass regeneration and break down amplified defenses.
Trivia: For a short time she was employed among the elite Lunarians lead by Eirin and Kaguya, but had to resign her high-authority role when they wed and had no other recognized god to pray to. In her attempts to get them to and shake it up, she shattered the Icecaps with Excalibur's blade and Intuition of Desolation. They ran to the moon entirely out of fear of her. This has led to a phenomenon known as "Climate Change" where the crack and scar she left on the Caps has not healed or reversed, and continues to disintegrate the boundaries of the barren frostland.
Name: "Sanae - Living goddess"
Abilities:
Lake of Miracles • A dimension of pure belief that can only be occupied by Sanae, and one other varying, chosen individual. It changes based on the culture, thoughts, personality and ideology of the chosen individual, but always contains two things consistently in it: Sanae herself, and a peaceful blue lake.
Barrier Divinity • With a simple distortion of space-time, Sanae can create unbreakable, indestructible geometric barriers. These are absolutely unharmed because they're not really barriers at all, but actually 'Inversive portals' from the Lake of Miracles, essentially bringing a chunk of spacial dimension from her own dimension and wrapping it around whatever she chooses.
Holy High • A simple blessing that removes all fear, doubt, anxiety and uncertainty and replaces it temporarily with absolute conviction.
Saint of Miracles • An ability that lets Sanae bring about a highgrade miracle to whoever she's paired with, however this will one day come at a great penalty or cost to the one she grants it to. Personality: Curious, whimsical, friendly, trusting, a bit innocent and always utterly fearless. Despite this she's shown to be reasonable at times and quite willing to work things through when the situation demands it.
Bio: Called the 'Living Goddess' by many, the technical understanding of Sanae is that she is a kind of sentient prayer, a manifestation of the unheard wishes and hopes of those in Gensokyo, creating a goddess with no real affinity or allegiance of her own. Sanae is thus in the truest sense, an entity that anyone can pray to, with no regards for moral ties, species, race, religion, personal devotion or affiliation. She is a "No man's land" sort of goddess, and will happily offer her blessings and power to those willing to believe in her, aswell as themselves.
For this reason, however, she's quite opposed to Youmu who has tried to 'harvest' and extract her on numerous occasions. Because of her nature, she is omnipresent, able to appear wherever someone praying towards her is. She is also unkillable, able to premanifest and recreate herself as long as belief in no-belief is needed. However she speculates should everyone in Gensokyo be converted to a single religion or devoted to one 1-belief, she would not be erased but merely changed, altered to be a marching sigil of sorts for that system.
Dwelling: Sanae lives in a belltower somewhere in the forests of the Netherworld, where tengu can be heard in the early sunrise. She can also spend time in the Lake of Miracles as needed, not truly requiring food or bodily needs.
Periapt: Ark of the Covenant
𝕾𝖕𝖊𝖊𝖉 - ☆☆☆☆☆ 𝕻𝖔𝖜𝖊𝖗 - ★★★★☆ 𝕽𝖆𝖓𝖌𝖊 - ☆☆☆☆☆ 𝕾𝖕𝖊𝖈𝖎𝖆𝖑 - ★★★★☆
Retrieved from the Library of Alexandria, the Ark allows one to commune and summon a group of magical girls in a celestial realm known as the 'ArcLight Drivers', from an organization beyond the known confines of the world. The ArcLight Drivers have hundreds of members as a small, disciplined army of cheerful kawaii powerhouses. These sparkly, spunky frilled warriors of light are justice-toting super fighters who can zip through the skies and tear through hell if they have to. Sanae usually summons them defensively, or alerts them when something terribly abnormal is afoot.
Trivia: It was said that Sanae became friends with one of the high-priestesses of the Arclight Drivers, Queen Cleopatra who was revived in a new body of light as a magical soldier. She's constantly asking Sanae to retrieve it from Koakuma in the Scarlet Devil Mansion.
Name: "Remilia - Scarlet Devil"
Abilities:
Devil's Embodiment • This power, granted from the widow wedding ring of her when she was the demon king's bride, grants her a balancing power boost and enhancement when her 'chips are down' or she faces 'uncertain adversity.' She can use her ability as a kind of powerful attack that she uses when she is about to be overwhelmed. It works this way, the more stressed she becomes, the more powerful her Devil's Embodiment is. The heavier the weight of her circumstances or visibly, shaky pressure she feels in the face of an obstacle, the more power the ring grants her. If Remilia were up against a Giant she would find herself swiftly able to lift a 100 stories. If her target moved as an intangible flash of light, her abilities would become better to where she can trap them with darkness or turn her body into lightening to counter. Essentially it tips the scales of fate when an impossible circumstance is met with her sight that she cannot overcome, until she's strong enough to give pause and smash whatever is in her path. However this comes with the clause that Remilia must brace like a devil and attack the challenge head on, should she decide to run, its tremendous power is negated. If her odds are very much favorable to her or she's not terribly hard pressed, the ability won't activate.
Personality: Clingy, creepy, obsessed, neurotic, hysteric, unstable, Reimu describes her as a "Yandere" for her own sibling, and subsequently mistress Patchouli.
Bio: The first person that the power of the Black Witch gifted. Remlia is an odd duck among others of her kind. Born the 2nd last surviving offspring of an affair between the sorceress Morgan Le Fay and the Knight Tristan, she lived a simple life as she was raised as an angel in gensokyo. Her life changed when a war broke out between man and demon. Remlia made her decision, to join the war and see the conflict through to its end. She however, went against her fellow angels and joined the ranks of the demon army where she served with great success for three years before she fell in love with the King of Demons, Theriuml. The king saw a potential in Remlia as the future queen of demons, she was capable of great command. He gave her her own army and charged her with subduing the rest of the demons in his realm of Demonica in Hell. After a long hard battle she was victorious, and was to be wed to Theriuml next week.
The day of the wedding, the commander of the Angelic forces, her sister Flandre launched a stealth trap offensive and slaughtered the King's court, finally beheading the king himself. Remilia went on a rampage against Flandre that raged all the way into the heavens, causing endless destruction - including to themselves. They fought to a standstill, and in their devastated state were kicked out of heaven and hell respectively, made pariahs. After Patchouli found them in the no-man's land of the Netherhouse, broken and in pain, she started to take Silk Road, a needle, the Caduceus wand of Mercury and operated on both. She revived them to full health, and brought both siblings into a new dwelling she called the Scarlet Devil Mansion. Remilia was to be the "Right hand" of the Blackwitch goddess, and from that day forward served Patchouli and folded into her design as needed.
Dwelling: Remilia lives in the Right-side of the Scarlet Devil Mansion. Her room is pastel coated with pure crimson furniture and elegant dressings, with a porch that lets her peer out into the moonlight.

A robe once said to belong to siddhartha buddha, it contains endless white feathers on its coat. Each of these feathers can be plucked and turn into chalk. This chalk can be used as an artistic drawing tool and wand to conjure Tennin, firing these angelic spirits throttling at the user's enemies like a furious storm.
Name: "Flandre - Destructive little sister"
Abilities:
Divinity Embodiment • Her signature ability can be seen as transforming herself into a very powerful form of Lightning, able to blast targets away as well as fire lightning bolts that can penetrate solid objects and walls, while moving at intense speeds. A form of power in which the user has complete control over electricity. When combined with her flight, she acts as a living thunderbolt. This power was granted by a goddess towards her mother before she was born, saying that she was blessed with the power, advised to not use it too often, as it has a tendency to cause great destruction.
Hymn of Creation • A divine power that lets her talk to life and far beyond. Dogs and pets, plants, the wind, ocean, clouds, snails. This gives her access to many other types of powers besides being able to control Life. By talking to 'time', she can freeze anybody in her vicinity. Singing to 'gravity' lets her float things, chatting with any doorway or barrier simply lets her pass. She is not physically seen talking in most cases, the communion is intuitive. Her typical go-to move is to thunder up and stop time in combination.
Seraphim Shriek • This can be described as a black aura around her silhouette which burns to ash anything it hits. It's activated with her voice, a scream that creates said aura for a little bit.
Shriek Ultra • Essentially, the dark aura separates from her body and shapes into a dark copy of her silhouette. This doppelganger maintains its corrosive qualities and can attack independently of her.
Vampiria • This power allows her to manipulate the force of living beings, the more it is absorbed into an object the stronger it will become, with a point of no return, where if overused it will burst the object itself.
Divinity Embodiment • Her signature ability can be seen as transforming herself into a very powerful form of Lightning, able to blast targets away as well as fire lightning bolts that can penetrate solid objects and walls, while moving at Abilities: Devil Embodiment, this power has the blessing of Tristram and allows Remlia to be the first person that the power of the Black Witch is gifted to. Remlia is an odd duck among others of her kind.
Personality: Stoic. Controlled. Dramatic. Righteous. Protective and stern. Being raised as an angel in hell, Remilia is no angel. She is quite harsh, and would like to have everyone bow and grovel at her feet, she is a very megalomaniacal person. However she defers to Mistress Patchouli quite respectfully.
Bio: Her mother was born into a quiet British village, when a small forest on the outskirts of the forest of magic was set ablaze. It was during this time that Morgan escaped and the God of Magic, Dendemir, took pity on the little girl and wished to create a being with a pure heart to help the future of magic. Dendemir, decreed she would carry forward his name and blessed her with his full potential. However he went back on his blessing when he saw the evil that Morgan Le Fay would inflict with her magic, and as penance, cast a spell where her next daughter would be born as a thunderbolt. Realizing the destruction it could bring, she sent her child Remilia into the army, and would send Flandre to be raised in hell. Flandre would spend her upbringing mostly in sadistic torture of lost souls and angels, when she realized she an angel herself and the torment she was causing, Flandre had a breakdown. She ended up nursed by a house of valkyrie, becoming a warrior for Heaven instead. This leads her on the path to eventually fighting with her sister, slaying her groom and clashing to the precipice of oblivion. She fell to Gensokyo, her and her sibling now banned from heaven and hell, and was granted glimpses of hospitality by the Patchouli. After a long banquet where her angelic voice won over the library mage, she was allowed to stay as Patchouli's newest ward, becoming the Left Hand of the Blackwitch.
Dwelling: Flandere's staying bedroom is the Left-Side of the Scarlet Devil Mansion. It has numerous accommodations, from a fancy fountain to shelves of greek and norse weaponry, a queen-sized bed with a silken curtain and portraits from the Vatican.
Periapt: Apple of Eden
𝕾𝖕𝖊𝖊𝖉 - ★★★★☆ 𝕻𝖔𝖜𝖊𝖗 - ★★★★★ 𝕽𝖆𝖓𝖌𝖊 - ★★★★★ 𝕾𝖕𝖊𝖈𝖎𝖆𝖑 - ★★★★☆
Flandre sources and speaks to the original apple of knowledge from the garden of eden. If Flandre's Periapt's electrical power hits an opponent after, they will transform into her lightning avatar and will follow her orders. They will not resist, and cannot resist, losing any concept of "sin" or why they wouldn't obey Flandre. She can only have one avatar at a time, and transforming a new one restores and relinquishes the former avatar. If a lightning avatar and Flandre hold hands, they magnetize and create a powerful electromagnetic pulse that can even shift continents and pull the world apart. She once used this to sling the Moon out of orbit when it was crashing down.
Name: "Koakuma - Little Imp"
Abilities: Curse Embodiment, Miracles, Omnipresence
Personality: Curious crafty minx. She’s bad news.
Bio: If every resident in Gensokyo can receive the hope of prayers and blessings, it only stands the inverse is true. And so Koakuma finds her mold in the valley, as the 'Goddess of Malediction', in other words a living curse. Everywhere she goes, Koakuma is said to jinx others and manipulate ample magic over illness, disaster and misfortune. She is the collective manifestation of every single curse in Gensokyo, a living bad luck charm. Loyal to Patchouli to a fault, she was not always a Malediction deity, but has the Librarian mage to thank for that. When asked who she was prior, she often states it was "Pretty boring and nothing really to write home about." A baseline japanese teenage girl, lost and wandering into the SDM, and caught Patchouli's interest. A short adventure and few magical experiments later, and the human was transformed into "Patchouli's Imp" with the properties she does. As a recreation of her Mistress, she's fiercely loyal to her. It's not lost on her that she's the exact opposite of Sanae, the embodiment of curses rather than blessings.
Dwelling: Sanae has a room of her own in the Scarlet Devil Mansion which is lightly furnished. She sleeps in her own Periapt.
Periapt: Sarcophagus of Cleopatra
𝕾𝖕𝖊𝖊𝖉 - ★☆☆☆☆ 𝕻𝖔𝖜𝖊𝖗 - ★☆☆☆☆ 𝕽𝖆𝖓𝖌𝖊 - ★★☆☆☆ 𝕾𝖕𝖊𝖈𝖎𝖆𝖑 - ★★★★☆
The Sarcophagus has the ability to make everyone who is inside the same room fall asleep in the same exact order as the last one who was sleeping when activated. While asleep, they'll be trapped in a dreamrealm designed like the inside of a pyramid labyrinth full of traps and attackers. It can reveal any secrets hidden in the person. It is often used to show information to others without the person's knowledge should Koakuma use it on herself and enter her opponent's dreams. The Periapt can even show the future events of a person's fate. The sarcophagus does not function for people who have already been buried, revived or weighed by the underworld, making Youmu and Sakuya immune to its ability.

Personality: Very mischievous and loves mischief, although she has a good sense of morals and won't hurt other people for no reason. But give me a reason, and you better drop the attitude and apologize or you're now my plaything. Some call me an egomaniac. They're wrong of course, I'm better than that. You don't know how much pressure I'm under, high-fashion, fetishistic practices and necromancy doesn't come easily for a librarian, and my research habits... well, some people are downright afraid of it. I may be eccentric, but the truth of it is that I'm rather shy and reserved. I don't do well in social situations. However, I'd be lying if I said that that was it. That's only half of my "personalities". I'm very stressed out. I love to study, and my love for the magical arts, which you call 'magic', stems from my ability to make an endless reservoir of knowledge from a reality beyond my own, a reality beyond a screen, where many fictional entities fuel my curiosity and intrigue. Everyone of them has a name and a book in my library. An antiquarian book collector. I'm known as the world's greatest book-worm. I also collect dolls and clothes, especially of a risqué nature.
Bio: Patchouli, this Patchouli I am, the Blackwitch of Gensokyo, is not the Patchouli of your story. It's of mine. I was created from a powerful sorceress, who made me on a whim. And so too will I make and remake life as I choose, as many know the Library Mage of the Scarlet Devil Mansion to do, my reputation proceeding me. Like my creator, the mindset of an eccentric and a puppeteer guides my frivolous indulgences, and the Scarlet Devil Mansion, my mansion, is where I proceed to enact my pampering. My toys, my creations, and my spellcraft. To look at myself, it is only a shadow. It sees death where others may see nothing. To know I am nothing, is to know I am all. I am the creator of many, but only 'you' can create your own Fate to each's own end.
Dwelling: The Scarlet Devil Mansion. It's mine betchhhh.

A literal thread of silk thousands of years old, passed and traded across Eurasia in 12th century AD, eventually able to stretch that entire distance. This silk thread I use, aside from being able to literally stretch into quantum bands and recreate reality can immobilize and depower anyone it wraps around, leaving them as my helpless thrall. When threaded through corpses, dolls, golems, mannequins and plushies, are stitched automatically and embedded with divine power and come to life as my familiars. It can also form any outfit I need, which is pretty much the most convenient aspect let’s be honest.
Name: "Kanako Yasaka - Wind God of Moriya"
Abilities: As the wind god, Kanako obtained the abilities of the previous wind god, Suwako, and maintains a lot of scholarly magic related to spellcraft, including the ability to nullify enemies' spells, and trace the 'formulas' and requirements for said spells instantly and analytically.
Personality: Kanako is a little childlike and she shows her friendly side when she plays with others. She's very go-with-the-flow and seems unflappable at times, rarely breaking her smile or sunny and optimistic, if mischievous disposition. She has a sharp eye for observing the surroundings and is not afraid of challenges. However, she hates to be treated like a child, which for much of her existence until she became the Wind god, she very much was.
Bio: Said to be rather impatient, Kanako was previously a rather young goddess who came into existence during an ancient era. Plato's symposium, the Upanishads, the founding of the Library of Alexandria were some of her proudest moments, as she was a goddess whose affinity was the collective scholarship and knowledge of mankind. Due to this she had little time for fables or myths, distancing her from some of the other dominant gods and putting her at odds. She had to prove herself over the centuries, becoming virtually obsolete during the dark ages and frequently abused by other deities. So pitiful, others placed her as an overseer of 'Fable World', a floating sky kingdom where her cerebral talents shined least.
Kanako finally got lucky her break when Suwako threw down with Flandre on Patchouli's command, causing the 'Raising of Minerva', or what's synonymous with the Enlightenment in human terms. This event changed everything, as she was called upon to serve a great good and given the title of Wind god, while Suwako Moriya was assigned to watch over over the newly created Gensokyo. Within a short time in the span of the goddesses existence, the humanity of superstition became the humanity of technology and science, promoting her once dainty 'scholarly' role into a deity of Media and Digital godcraft herself.
Dwelling: Kanako's palace is located o Plum Island, shaped like a giant luxurious modern hotel. However a shrine wrapped with Christmas lights can lead into said mansion in Gensokyo, hidden behind one small mountain.

Epitomizing the culmination of all collected knowledge among Earthen societies, Kanako's Periapt artifact takes the form of a sleek silvery cellphone. It's power is to create, store, or destroy communication entirely. This can be simply silencing someone's speech or movements, but 'Communication' affected can be magic, spells, momentum or travel, and even memories. Essentially it is a master editor of knowledge. The WWW under Kanako's thumb can provide any info about this world, and, more importantly, the whole world of Gensokyo. Any info about one can be gathered from the Periapt, no secrets can be hidden from it. However, the true danger of the device lies in the vast number of sources, beliefs and connections a single goddess could access. With an overabundance of information is an absolute wealth of knowledge and a sensational equivalent to global prayer. It is in Kanako's periapt that many different factions are united under a singular common ideology, an ideology of Media participation and every post, every comment and like, all social media, contribute as a collective form of belief that powers Kanako beyond what any god as young as her could accomplish with temples and holy shrines alone. Suwako has acknowledged that as long as she has the piety of the internet and the boost of faith with it, she's unlikely to be able to take on Kanako anytime soon.
Name: "Suwako Moriya - secret Earth God"
Abilities: Suwako was previously a god of the winds, able to embody the wind and turn into either a peaceful cloud that covers the earth or hurricane that can sweep up the world. After her fall from grace, she gained the ability to both cultivate and shake the earth, tapping into control of seismic power. She's capable of doing more the more worshippers and belief there is in Gensokyo.
Personality: She can become quite emotional at times and may cry in front of her guests. This is due to the fact that she has been in Gensokyo long enough to become more attached to the place, having essentially built the place in formation. She is a very caring person, showing it with everything she does.
Bio: Her background is a little hard to remember for her, when she was born there were the two worlds of the normal world and the Fable world, where they coexisted in the normal world above where Gensokyo resided, then a lake. Her name originates from the olden times and was created to be part of a great myth, being the goddess of the four winds. She protected the spirits of every living creature in the world, but only if they were honest. She was the protector of the 4 winds. One day, four young shrine maidens adapted magic from the outside of the Fable World and returned to its vibrant town, each of these maidens an avatar of the Four winds. While her body adapted for these powers, there was something missing in her heart. As a result, she began to question her existence, wanting to know if there was a reason for her to continue existing, if there was no truth in existence, what was the purpose of being?
To this end, she sought the wisdom of a powerful and wise sage- known in modern Gensokyo as the Blackwitch library mage, Patchouli. The goddess tasked her with researching these questions, of which her prodding became a great burden to the librarian. Not too pleased about it, she sent her left-hand, Flandre up to 'shock' the goddess a little and get her out of her funk. This turned into an inconvenient skirmish, where Flandre ended up falling to earth and flashing thunder everywhere, resulting in an event called the 'Raising of Minerva', an event that led to technological and cultural advancements everywhere across humanity. This thrilled Kanako at first, but as it lead to humanity's slow loss of faith in gods and instead in technology and 'media', Kanako was blamed greatly for this hit. In rage, Flandre converted Suwako into her avatar with the Apple of Eden and held hands, creating an electromagnetically powered seismic blast so fearsome, it sunk the edges of Fable world above and the crashed the entire lake below, creating a vast valley.
Many of the other minor gods had a conference and demanded she step down. She refused, and out of protest they began to withhold the seasons leading to a massive famine. A goddess within reason and empathetic to humanity, she stepped down and was relegated a position she found very much favorable 'A god of faith encouragement' and 'Admiration for Forgotten Fables' as an Earth God. Her title as goddess of the winds was stripped from her and given to Kanako. In order to make up for the lost faith in mankind, she was sentenced to help build and watch the new land that her fight with Flandre caused, the mountainous valley of Gensokyo. Inside the valley, all is her domain. Outside and beyond its reach, the world is under the protection and supervision of Kanako Yasaka.
Dwelling: Suwako lives in the administrative palace, a large and rather well ornamented building shaped after such architecture as the Taj Mahal, the White House and Parthenon.

Taking the form of a Kite connected to a key in the bottle, the artifact was given as a gift to Suwako by the American Revolutionary and Founding Father, Benjamin Franklin. As the purest iconic symbol of man's mastery over nature with his intellect meeting the ferocity of nature and universal forces, the Spark allows Suwako to construct a phantom functionality over existing materials regardless of how advanced the function or many moving parts, or how primitive the materials. For instance, a simple stick could operate as a crossbow, a Gatling gun, or even a Railgun. A scooter or sandals can function as a Helicopter. An old chariot can function 100% operational as a spaceship or sonic jet, an abacus as a supercomputer. A mere rock can be charged with the Spark to recreate Hiroshima as a fission bomb. This even extends to advanced technology of the Lunarians.
Trivia: Suwako uses her Periapt on a small fireplace in the Administrative Palace to work as a Nuclear Fusion reactor in powering the entire building.
Name: "Reisen Inaba - Moon Rabbit"
Abilities: Inaba holds an ability called 'Lunar Leap' that lets her extend her legs and thrust global distances with a single leap. She's rather proud of this ability, even if Eirin claims its only really good for running away.
Personality: Reisen is quite shy and has a bit of a habit of being clumsy. She tries her best to hide it, and does really well at that. She will always stand at the front, even if she doesn't feel that she's ready. She has some sort of connection with Eirin and gets very flustered when they're not around. She's a bit of a klutz, a bit insecure. She finds people with good manners to be very pleasing and her kind nature often makes her the peacemaker. She really dislikes getting dirty, she finds it distasteful
Bio: Inaba was born from 998 other siblings, her leap was said to be blessed by Hermes himself. She was raised unliked by her siblings, but found companionship and loyalty in Eirin, whose own bumbling needs seemed to coincide. Once Kanako sent a space probe up to make contact with the Lunarians, Inaba fled and ended up in the SDM. She made a deal with the Library Mage Patchouli to tend to her garden, in exchange for a series of tunnels she could build a new underground base in between Gensokyo and hell.
Dwelling: After escaping from the Moonbase, Reisen lives in a Hell Burrow, a massive tunnel home underground in Gensokyo that when ventured far enough leads directly into hell.

Name: "Eirin Yagokoro - Brain of the Moon"
Abilities: A very large appetitive. Charm, charisma, a devoted leadership. She's been said to have a 'bottomless pit' for eating and drinking that cannot be beat, and has such good luck that she tends to attract powerful companions and strong friends who align with her charitable interests.
Personality: Sweet. Innocently morbid. Childishly supreme. A rather ineffectual ruler, she is however an understanding leader to her people and can be quite perceptive. However most see her, accurately, as rather silly, scatterbrained and more passion than precision.
Bio: Eirin, ironically titled so because most perceive her as ditzy eyecandy is the founder of the Moon Kingdom. Originally the base was not actually stationed on the Moon but Earth actually, near Antarctica. While her kingdom had initial success, it was often dogged by internal conflict and scheming, especially from the quarreling incidents between Youmu and Fujiwara no Mokou.
This feud leads her into a series of rivalries with various Yokai clans, where her companion Reisen once disintegrated an entire Yokai kingdom in one stroke with Pashupatastra. Far from furious for retribution, the Yokai grew fearful of Eirin beyond measure, and united behind the Sunflower Maiden, Shurikenshi, a legendary swordswoman who fought Youmu's rival Sakuya to a standstill to fight back. But after becoming their leader, Shurikenshi fell in love with Kaguya instead, and a time later Kaguya proposed and wed Eirin. The result was the armies formed and united to destroy Eirin and the Lunarians, were now under her command. This had the effect of the Matrimony goddess losing her title and immortality, due to breaking a sacred rule about loving and wedding mortals. However Youmu continued to ask for their prayer 'Tax' and asked which goddess they worshipped. Under Eirin, she declared they swore fidelity to Kaguya. No longer a goddess, Youmu wouldn't accept this and threatened to destroy their continent- a single touch of her Periapt cracked the icesheets and started to flood the entire community. So terrified of Youmu and unable to conquer her, they fled to the moon and rebuilt their kingdom in a large base, still on high alert of Youmu's "Collections" to this day.

Name: "Kaguya Houraisan - Immortal Princess"
Abilities:
Golemancy, earth manipulation, gravity propulsion, Wealth Blessing from Lakshmi at her wedding
Mega Lagomorphia • This technique creates a powerful larger-than-life golem from the earth with a cage in its chest that Kaguya can hide inside, able to pilot the fierce rabbit-like wood construct and pilot it whereever she pleases. She'll often use basic elemental magic, fire, lightening, water and wind in combination with these Golemns.
Personality: Passion, charisma, pride, bold and confident, a Princess of Will who is well respected and always very competent and capable in everything she does. It was her intelligence and aptitude that helped moved the felled Lunarian kingdom from the artic sheets to the Moon. She has a streak of vengeance running through her.
Bio: Kaguya holds a grudge against Gensokyo that goes all the way back to its pre-formed days as Fableworld. When she was a young goddess of melodies, one time she caught a cold and couldn't stop coughing in a theater. Her mother disrupted the play to attend to her on the spot, drawing the ire of the Dutchess of Germania. So petty and furious, the Dutchess had her mother's followers and worshippers gathered and their memories erased, her belief systems scrubbed, and any trace of Kaguya's mother stricken. Within a short amount of time, she grew sick and died. Thus, with nowhere to live Kaguya fled to the west and settled with the natives of North America. From that day forward she began hating the land of Fableworld and its residents. She is so mad about her past, she can't even talk about it or even acknowledge it. Her hate and vengeance have consumed all of her life since that day. When she learned that a part of Fableworld had been shaved and the lake beneath it was formed into someplace called Gensokyo, she grew furious. Kaguya returned and united many of the vengeful Yokai of the land to riot and rampage, a Mountain Ogre included. Her plan was only stopped by Suwako Moriya, who as punishment took away her 'Melody' goddess title and had her refitted as the Goddess of Matrimony. Kaguya's mother never married and had a known humorous slight against it, and so Kaguya considered this a terrible insult. She ran back to North America, only to find many of her old territories of worshippers gone and new settlers in place. Thus she huddled down with the Yokai that she'd raided Gensokyo with, where she met Shurikenshi.
For a time and Shurikenshi traveled the world together and grew close. Kaguya relaxed her grudges for a time and focused on learning Golemancy, often riding tall golems across distant lands and when not busy with Shurikenshi, partying with the Yokai. This tendency as a playgirl and desire to sow her oats bore on Shurikenshi, when she found him in bed with a Bakemono, she was heartbroken. They took some time to separate and work on their relationship. Kaguya continued to travel the globe and find herself, eventually partying with the Lunarians and catching the attention of their leader, Eirin.
The two started seeing one another and in the Lunarians, Kaguya found a new people she could support and feel family with. When the Yokai 'disappearing village' incident shocked their community and had them put Shurikenshi at the lead of their alliance, the latter was shocked to find her in the arms of Eirin. There was outrage, drama and a long tea negotiation. After feeling herself brought to the brink of a lover's quarrel, she made peace with it. Months later she was the best woman at Eirin and Kaguya's wedding. Haven broken divine rules for this marriage, her title as a goddess was stripped - and she renounced it all the same anyway. When Youmu sank the icesheets, she was the principle architect beyond the Moonbase plan, many of the Lunarians carried on her golemns. With the Yokai as great aide in their construction, Kaguya has ceded most of the Moon Kingdom's affairs to her wife.
At present she still holds a sense of bitterness towards the other goddesses, Suwako and Gensokyo. Shurikenshi had been a huge factor in her not invading or turning the Moonbase into some kind of invasion force, despite her anguish. One time Gensokyo would not let her visit the grave of her mother, as she was still essentially banned. Kaguya was so furious, she attempted to drop the entire Moon onto the surface and take her vengeance with a slam. Her plan was foiled by a combination of Reimu and Marisa going through a lengthy, convoluted adventure to finally convince Patchouli to let Remilia out of 'timeout' and intervene, whereas she swiftly proceeded to prevent its fall.
To say that she's let go of grudge would be untrue. Most days she's just barely a hairs away from firing weaponry and starting a war. She drinks often to cope with this grudge and travels frequently to disrupt her complicated feelings. For the most part, she leaves Eirin to rule to her own content. The relationship between her, her wife and Shurikenshi is complicated, Shurikenshi being a tough, firm moral support and edge, but Eirin offering a sweetness and opportunity for redemption she couldn't forsee herself with Shuri. Ironically Eirin would be perfectly okay with any decisions Kaguya makes, warlike or otherwise, whereas Shuri is stuck playing the role of a rebound support and voice of reason at times. She is a celebrated figure among the Yokai and Lunarians, a folk hero and celebrity even. All the same, she's always on the move and always looking for new doors and opportunities undiscovered yet.
Dwelling: Kaguya is always on the road. She’ll often be seen passed out in bars and just as frequently sleeping in her Lago Golemn. Very rarely does she sleep on the Moonbase or with her spouse.

Trivia: After wedding Eirin, Kaguya lost her goddess perks, as well as her immortality. Suwako has offered to reapply her status and powers should she come to terms with her past - as well as issue a small polite apology for attempting to drop the moon on her beloved Gensokyo. She would even be able to keep her wife and they could come back to Gensokyo together. Kaguya responded by dropping her MoonBase's septic tanks splattering over the Adminstrative Palace.

Personality: Pushy, disruptive, authoritative, strict, scheming, severe and Egocentric.
Bio: Fujiwara was raised in a wealthy manor in Gensokyo's Expat district, a small section of hills and a town devoted for visitors from outside the valley protected by thick forests of Bamboo. Her neglectful parents cared little for her among 8 siblings and nanny's all the same. The aristocratic child was raised virtually by a magic mirror, a trinket her parent's acquired which could speak to one's dream and ego. Thus from a young age, Fujiwara was told everything one could ever want to hear about their status and success. She started practicing at Patchouli's Scarlet Devil Mansion as a magical protégé, however Patchouli's guidance and teaching required her to become a librarian from 8 to 18. From a very young age into adulthood, Youma would often come to her asking for her prayer contribution and which deity she prayed to. Fujiwara would say she only worships her own reflection, stirring Youma's rattling and causing a feud between the two. After she left and attempted to join numerous shrines, always rejected for her selfish prima dona nature. When wandering the forest one time, she fell down a hole and into a mysterious labyrinth, having only her magic to survive. At the end of the maze she discovered a circuit cube made of tungsten. Once crafted by a maddened alchemist, Fujiwara was reminded in the cube's reflection of the narcissistic mirror that had pampered her in her youth. She touched it, and the cube melted, merging to her hand and spreading over her body. Fujiwara's body became metallic, but immune to age or damage, and she cherished this as her proper coating as a living trophy.
The next week she started working at the administrative palace, but was kicked out thusly after for accusations stealing. She only stole one thing in actuality, documents on Kaguya. She fled and traveled the world, following the documents until they landed her in Eirin's employment. The innocent and trusting Eirin seemed to have her complete confidence, but her rise as Chief Prefect top among the Lunarians was offset at the time by Youma's promotion instead. This feud escalated overtime and grew so out of control, it led to the incident of Reisen erasing a village with her Periapt. Fujiwara would spend much of her time among her new career jealous and bitter of Youma, and even when Youma eventually nearly sank them into the Artic Ocean she resigned her ambition to wanting to one up her somehow. Her grudge has been often compared to Kayuga's of Suwako, although Youma has never formally acknowledged their rivalry at all or cared much for "That steel-hearted Tincan woman."

Periapt: The World Wide Web
𝕾𝖕𝖊𝖊𝖉 - ★★★★☆ 𝕻𝖔𝖜𝖊𝖗 - ★★★★★ 𝕽𝖆𝖓𝖌𝖊 - ★★★★★ 𝕾𝖕𝖊𝖈𝖎𝖆𝖑 - ★★★★☆
Periapt: Spark of the Enlightenment
𝕾𝖕𝖊𝖊𝖉 -★★★☆☆ 𝕻𝖔𝖜𝖊𝖗 - ★★★★☆ 𝕽𝖆𝖓𝖌𝖊 - ★★★★☆ 𝕾𝖕𝖊𝖈𝖎𝖆𝖑 - ★★★★★
Periapt: Pashupatastra

A disc lens once belonging to the Hindu god of destruction Shiva, it's said to be able to make the eye weary of how to destroy anything and neutralize any other weapon in existence, functioning as a 'Periapt killer' in theory. It takes a little while to charge up but functions as a weapon of mass annilation. However Reisen mostly uses it as a spyglass, and sometimes a cup holder.
Dwelling: The Moonbase the size of a city, exists as large station on the surface of the moon staffed by her follow Lunarians.

During her attempted Moondrop, she quadrupled the weight of the moon and made every one of her citizens weightless, while inverting the tidal fields in an attempt to destroy Gensokyo with tidal waves. Much like her mercurial persona, anger and moodiness, it ebbs and flows the fabric of dreams to control strong gravitational forces.

Dwelling: Fujiwara has her own quarters on the Moon within the Moonbase where she resides.

She regularly goes to the valley’s best doll puppeteer and engineer, Alice, and on some occasions Patchouli for repairs and spare parts, fixing and trying to perfect herself frequently.
