(Commission for demascus )
While I could never be in the army for medical reasons (flatfooted, wouldn't be able to run right for an extended period of time. I'm also a bit of a fatty but nothing basic couldn't shave off me), I do strongly support the troops, so when Demascus came back to me after dangling this commission over my head for months and offered this idea, I was behind it all the way.
Wouldja believe his unit was using one of my other pieces (Evening Officer) as a pinup in their commons area? Blew my mind that my stuff is over in afghanistan cheering the troops up. Well, here's one more, guys! Treat her well!

Our military has painted far stranger things than anthros on our planes in the past my friend.
Oh yeah, that's right, they've always loved decals often with anthros and other things on their planes.
Furries. We invade every aspect of life.
Furries. We invade every aspect of life.
A lot of units assign themselves animal names that coincide phonetically with the unit's designation.
At one point I was in the Wolfpack, a platoon in the Cougar Company, that was part of the Cobra Battalion. Every single one had an anthro mascot XD.

Probably not, but interestingly, I was in that unit with this guy: http://encyclopediadramatica.com/Bucky_bunny
Yeah, he was just as bad as his ED entry says. >_<
Yeah, he was just as bad as his ED entry says. >_<
So he was in the army at some point? Interesting. I thought the whole thing was a concoction.
Nope. He was really in the Army. National Guard and Reservists do their training as active duty, and he happened to get to my training unit (same company, different platoon IIRC) a few months before I left it. That was mid-2006. I only remember him because he stood out as a weirdo among weirdoes (We all did electronics repair, so naturally almost all of use were geeks of some form or another) and he stuck around me because I was a furry too. I'll be damned if I remember what his actual job was, though.
At Wal-Mart back in 04-05 I used to work with a guy who looked like him who claimed he was in the army but couldn't hack boot camp. I don't think it was Bucky though, but I never did catch his name. He wasn't so much of a weirdo as he was a guy who seemed angry all the time and kept to himself.
Reading up on the ED page, I think it's awesome that they finally nailed the guy, and that his ties to the fandom got him convicted in two states! If it weren't for all the warnings in the fandom about him, I doubt he would have been connected to both thefts.

I doubt it was him, as he (somehow, God only knows how) definitely made it through Basic, and presumably training in Georgia, too.
I live right on the Georgia border with South Carolina so...*shrugs*
But you're right, it probably wasn't him.
But you're right, it probably wasn't him.
Hah, can't believe I never responded. Interesting thing, that's where his AIT was, in Augusta. I actually got a group of us (no Bucky, thank God) lost one time and we accidentally wound up in SC XD
Haha! Not much in the furry world goes on down here in SC. Closest convention is in Atlanta and closest meets/local fur groups congregate in Raleigh (NC).
I had my tent lined with all kinds of fur-art posters and sketches. Needless to say it drew more than a few strange looks, but most of the guys got it.
That's actually pretty cool, but I'm surprised it was nothing more than a few strange looks.
Well thankfully none of them were terribly racy X3
(Those were kept in the footlocker, muahahahaha )

So many Marines are furries it's ridiculous. And it's always the ones you would never suspect.
But at the same time, isn't the US military supposed to be one of the most conservative entities in the country?
I can't speak for the other services, but the Marines with our obsession for bulldogs and other beasts as symbols of badassery tends to invite a lot of anthropomorphic art. I've seen so many unit shirts that have pretty masterfully drawn furries (usually wolves, tigers, horses, bulldogs, etc) in various states of machinegun-wielding cigar-puffing buffness. I wouldn't say that anyone's political leanings really affect it much, unless you're talking about the more extremely explicit kinds of furry art, which could get you in trouble in some cases.
Politically in my op-field I'd say it's more like 2/3 right-leaning and 1/3 left. A good portion of the Marines in my unit are pretty liberal (pro-choice, pro-gay marriage, anti-DADT, etc), though regardless of political leanings, all except 1 Marine that I work with are in favor of the Afghan war, and were in favor of Iraq. It's really mixed up with lots of surprising grey areas when you get down to it.

Well the fondness for anthropomorphic symbols of badassery isn't what surprises me, I'm pretty aware of that actually, I meant it was surprising to me you said so many marines are furries it's ridiculous, considering I had the impression the US military is generally rather conservative.
Using anthros for decals and unit shirts is one thing of course, but actual furries are more often than not involved in the more explicit parts of the fandom, and that's where I found the conflict.

I never really found it to be much conflict, actually. I know a lot of conservative-minded furries in the military, not just the Marines. Drawing yourself as an anthro or playing one in SL or going to conventions doesn't really have much to do with one's voting habits when you get down to it.
True, it probably helps to have an insiders view naturally.
Ultimately engaging in those activities doesn't have anything to do with your political orientation. I guess it's more a question of culture or sub-culture, and that conservatives are more reluctant to join the ranks of furries, just my impression. I'm at least pretty sure liberals and especially socialists are over-represented in the furry fandom.

Well, speaking as someone involved in multiple subcultures over the years, ranging from goth to punk to furry to rivethead, I've run into plenty of conservatives. Naturally there will be more left/center-minded people than right-wingers in subcultures like this, but you generally don't have to look too far in my experience, especially for goths, rivets and/or furries in the military. :>
Made my day in "sunny" camp Lejeune when i saw this. Really not surprised that there are furry fans in the Marines, especially in the infantry. We are pretty brain damaged as is... On my way out after 5 years in, wanted something to remember my last trip to Helmend Province.
Good on you and good luck, brother. Waiting here outside of the capital for another 6 months, and I'll be following you out of the green-collar about 4 months later..
well hey aren't we all a little messed up to begin with? Anyway 5 years in, gj man hope you enjoyed em all. Infantry is the way to go doesn't matter what others say its the infantry that does the dirty work.
I'm a republican-conservative, but I enjoy some fun liberties that comes with being anonymous. Not to mention most of my family is hardcore christian. including myself =^.^=
And I'm a Neutral Democrat (Sorry about bringing politics to this conversation by the way)
Ehh.... it's more that you're about 3 years too late for this conversation, mate, that's more the issue. We stopped and never picked it back up.
No, but it does help out a lot, as you're pretty safe from getting booted out of the country while you're in. XD
When I was in Korea, I had a few Mexican friends working on their citizenship. However, you can't have a clearance until you're a citizen, so that keeps you from some MOSes.

no. You would be thinking of a particular branch of our military. The Navy is filled with a bunch of strict men. They are especially hard against open homosexuality as it makes them embarrassed and be thought of as weak.
Lovely piece, love the detail in her fur as well.
I might tease one of the army augmenties to my unit with this.
Semper Fidelis!

In before the foxhole jokes.......... In all seriousness though faved to show support. Love for all the men and women in uniform.
From one veteran to another. Thanks, bro.
Hooah!!!

I'm sure as hell standing at attention XD.
I have a cousin serving in the army, haven't heard from him in a while though..

This is one of those things I love about your work man, I can count on you for my military fix.
I really wish mine looked as good as yours. Maybe then my EXTRACTION mini-comic would have turned out a lot better.

to be honest this is awsome :D i just joined up and gonna be headin to basic early next year. this is a really hawt piece... aside from being in the desert XD
Support female troops! They need the support to support their...er... artillery!
Besides the awesomeness of your art, I love the comical tags you give your works.
I love the expression. Love your work Strype. Absolutely love it.
oh, sexy hips, ass and figure too =3

Ok now can you please turn around and unzip the pants and continue from there. Damn its a commish.
As much as I support any military action during war time I cant help but feel most modern day wars are fought for selfish assholes wanting nothing more than resources and oil, no offense to the troops anywhere, I just think the people sending them to places in the world aren't doing it for the right reasons. Either way, really nice pic!
Yeah, I don't support the war either, but I do support the troops despite my objections to them being over there
Good to see someone who speaks reason! It's really cool that one of your images is supporting the troops, I just wish they could get home already from a war that's not even worth fighting. Either way, have a good one!
I do not support the war in the east, but I most definitely support the troops.
hehehe thats great hun and i can see why shes sexy she'll be a hit ^^
If all muslim women looked like that, I would have nothing against immigration.
Excellent piece, Strype. Thumbs up from all the fellas here at Camp Phoenix, Afghanistan =D
( Well, aside from the non-fur scratching their heads... which was alot of them... but that's beyond the point )

Let 'em know I say hi, that they rock, and don't worry about the dog thing and just enjoy the T&A
I also wanted to join the army but cant because of medical reasons, (seizures). I support my troops and I support this picture. :)
"delicious and piping hot in only three microwave minutes"
best. self-description. ever.
best. self-description. ever.
Don't know what to say that hasn't already been said. I really like the character, and the fact that it's an afghan wild dog. Something different for sure, and different is often fun to see. Personally, I also like how you designed the pants; the strap instead of simply a hole for the tail. Certainly makes more sense. And, of course, the pose is lovely.
I guess it's great to hear that you support our troops for their hardships, and they've shown that they appreciate your support. There's little like the feeling of knowing that what you do is honestly appreciated, for both you, and our men and women in the armed forces.
Semper Fidelis.

Wow that's an amazing piece and a great eye for detail (referring mainly to the stitching/layers to the bra)
That's an outstanding figure she has :D
Love her patterning and hair.

Great picture Strype. And as someone who's heading over there soon, I can only hope to be so lucky as to have some of your work in our commons xD Keep it up!
I hope that one day you put together a print book with all of this service member support art you do. It's really interesting to know that it's actually cheering them up out there. And oddly enough spreading furry love around all obscure corners of the world.
Definitely a view I can get behind. XD Beautiful job. If this doesn't cheer anyone up (who isn't into other dudes), I don't know what will.
I really like how you did the markings on her back. And I also really like her hair, too. Nice one, dude!
Where do u have "Evening Officer" posted? That must be really awesome to know that your art is viewed by US soldiers.
So how do you know/find out that you're flatfooted? What's that mean for running?
So how do you know/find out that you're flatfooted? What's that mean for running?
Faved 'cause I'm really, really impressed at your skills in handling textures and keeping your background and foreground tones consistent.
lol awesome, you should do more military themed pip ups of hot furry babes in uniform (or getting out of uniform)
Was not expecting the mass amount of positive feedback in such as short period of time. Strype great job again and the boys thank you.
God bless you for standing up and supporting our troops Much respect!
I love this peice too. Very sexy yet still tasteful. Her hind end is hoooot!

That has to be an awesome way to get an ego boost=) Awesome pic man!
I would so (if had permission) print this out on a large poster paper and actually pin it to my wall!
Isn't it great when clothing stores sell items that match your natural patterns?
wow, Im Impressed. The military Is definitely a viable option for me, and if they have pictures like these hanging up wherever I go, well then maybe ill go sign up now :P
I like how she only lets u have a little peek VERY sexy anyway awesome art man keep it up!
Well done! I -love- the bra and her pose. Even though you said you're a bit of a fatty, she could use a few pounds too. Gotta have a ba-donk-a-donk ass XD
Either way.. Me-OW! <3

This picture is just all kinds of wonderful and pleasing to eye balled into one.
Strype: You're magnificent.

wow, the detail on her shorts and cloths is amazing!, mind you, I find my eyes drawn elsewhere!...
I'm flat footed and still in the army... O_o Army is EASY shit. Just right now they don't want people... Haha. I'd rather have those ACUs than what we really wear. We have to wear baggy pants. Not as sexy. T_T
"Behind" this picture? "Support" The troops? More appropriate puns please. :)
Same here, as in, i tried to get in the reserves, medical problem (Heart Murmur) and that was that. But my entire family was in the military in one form or another, so I felt bad I couldn't make it. :P
Great pic though. :)

USA! USA! USA! African dog, not one I see often, very amazing job on the texturing and colors.
Faving for how you did the trousers. I see that flat pattern and how you compensated for it.
You HAVE to draw more of this African Wild Dog, she's simply amazingly-mindbogglingly-drop-dead-GORGEOUS!!
BTW Vegeta, did I forget to mention my fighting power in this form is OVER A MILLION?!
Heh, you can almost picture her saying something like "Comeon boys, let me hear an OORAH!"
Big tits, slender body, great ass...
And she probably kicks ass too :P
And she probably kicks ass too :P
While I don't support the war, I support her support efforts. *Tries to resist, finds out I can't and pounce on her, hugging tightly and kissing softly.* Please don't kill me, because of this show of affection.
Oh, so you think killing innocent civilians is a good thing. Who's the scum now?
Enjoy it, and the freedom of speech you're enjoying, not everybody is so lucky, but the troops are workin' on that one
Personal opinions on the war aside, slapping a "murderers" or "baby killer" label on the military? With that train of thought why not label all Germans as Antisemitic or all Muslims as religious fanatical zealots? Yes, the US military done some wrongs in the past, arguably every military organization around the world has at some point or another. Until you are the boots on the ground in countries that YOU have only seen, watched or read about from the comfort and safety your couch and/or computer! Then you may pass judgment, pull out the label machine and think how witty you are.

Dictionary: hip·pie hip·py
A person who opposes and rejects many of the conventional standards and customs of society; advocates extreme liberalism in politics and lifestyle.
What is the opposite of liberalism?
The true opposite of a liberal is a fascist. Many make the mistake of defining a conservative as the opposite of a liberal, but the opposite of a conservative is a progressive.

Not trying to take sides here but if you and Einsmann look at one of Strype's replies, he doesn't support the war or the reasons why the Army is there, but he supports the troops.
Einsmann jumped to an unnecessary conclusion of Strype's motives for drawing this picture without checking all the facts first. Trolling for the sake of trolling is just not cool in anyones book.

I wasn't focussing on him liking troops or whatever - I focussed on the way that he used the word "scum" and "hippie" in the same sentence. Frankly, I don’t give a rats arse about whether he prefers to side with troops or the army, war monger or not, but when someone starts picking on someone’s political stature and belief in free-willed life, that’s when I do care. A lot.
Fair enough. Strype was a bit too strong and over-generalizing with that comment reply I'll admit.
Strype, you probably could have gotten into the military. My father is flat-footed and was prior service Marine Corps. A good decade later, 9/11, he re-enlisted to get sent out (which never happened, he got stuck as a pencil pusher) but regardless. My dad was flat-footed, and usually one of the best in his unit.
And looking through these comments, I'm astonished at the amount of comments bashing those who make sure we can all sleep at night. It's sick, really.
Thumbs up for your support, man.

No comment on the "theme" of this picture, regardless it is beautiful.
This is just so well done I'm at a loss for words. The anatomy is so strongly executed while not being overwrought that I'm left to pick my jaw up off the floor. Everything is drawn with such lovely attention to appealing proportions and the texture work is simply marvelous! I love this view with her expression and glance back over the shoulder as though she's presenting her best view but knowing she's got a knockout followup with the forthcoming view from the front. Oh man, this is just all kinds of awesome. Bravo man, BRAVO!
Nice way to support the troops. Oh yeah thats one hell of an hour-glass figure I have ever seen. Oh and because I love dogs this is an automatic win.
Awesome piece as a whole, but the hair is the best part in my opinion.
Strype has to make another one with her wearing ACU pants in support of the Army, since there is this one with the forest MARPAT design. :D
*even as i read through half of the comments nobody seemed to ask* Is that a Bp vest with Steel or is that not a BP vest at all...?
Mate, I take my hat off and bow to you! Well done for supporting our troops, and your troops, in Afghanistan with your art!
I can relate. I am flat-footed as well as sleuth-footed (my feet turn out in a V when at rest). Great pic too! I think a woman in camo is super sexy. Don't know why, I just do. XD
Heh, wish we had something this motivating for my platoons foray into Afghanistan. xD ours was a little unorthodox. I like this piece *thumbs up*
Still liking it, where's the front? for that matter, where's the dance off pants off edition? :)
Have fun out there. :)
Have fun out there. :)
you know, even two years later this piece is still perfect. I can't tell what I like more, that hair or those hips.
omigod those hips are fantastic
and funnily enough, my old man was a corpsman in Golf company, 2/5 and later 2/1. although to my knowledge he only went into Kuwait and Iraq. I don't think they sent him into Afghanistan. Still, it's funny seeing all the things that I can relate to in this pic.
and of course, I find it completely awesome that they had your art up there. Clearly the guys in that unit had great taste.

If this is what they mean by "let slip the dogs of war," I say bring 'em on!
I want this Marine's contact info as a marine myself. I'm trying to find more USMC furs.
No idea why I didn't have this in my favourites haha, been posting it multiple times on accident to our discord!
