This is the flag of the Rwandan Empire, a gigantic country that has the entirety of Continental Africa in it's control, save for a part of Morocco, which is owned by Spain. The country was created during the Iberian Revolution, during my story universe, and spread like a plague, taking up almost the entirety of North and Saharan Africa, as well as Angola, Mozambique, and Ethiopia, during it's initial creation. It managed to then take over the rest of the continent by exploiting regional conflicts and the distraction of Western powers in Europe, and controlled the majority of the continent by the end of the Iberian Revolution, where the country's global recognition was forced in the post war conference in Berlin.

While the RE, is expansive and powerful, it is not stable, with regional conflicts and ethnic wars happening so frequently, the term "weekly genocide" was coined. The conflicts are mostly centered around the Congo area, and even happen frequently in the capital state of Rwanda, where the Tootsi-Hutu conflict flared up again, and refuses to die down any time soon. The only 100% safe states in the empire are: Algeria, Libya, Rwandan Morocco, Angola, Egypt, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Chad, and Mali. There is a belief that the more Muslim a part of the country is, the safer it is, which is only violated by the state of Nigeria, which has abhorrently high crime.

The Empire is technically a republic, or at least was intended to be so, by Alexis, the one who conquered the country. She currently reigns as president/dictator/empire, and remains in this position, due to all of her elections being near unanimous in terms of votes. Her average approval rate is inbetween 99-87 percent, between each state, with Egypt/Libya/Algeria/Angola being the highest with 100%, and Somalia being the lowest at 54%. She never wanted to be the empire, and has won every election to replace her, with the only time being close 2026 election, being between her (64%) and her wife, Anthea (46%), who ran to see if the elections were fair.

The vice president is the Egyptian general, Dorian Nazbeth, who championed the armed forces and was the brains behind the majority of the conquest, while Alexis (being a vampiric Sylveon) was the face and the might. He is rumored to be an ancient god hiding amongst men, and was the key organizer behind UNI, the initial alliance the RE was in, which contained Syria, The Democratic Republic of the Black Lands, and Iran. UNI stood for United Nations of Islam, which was initially named that because all four nations were majority Muslim, but when Spain, Portugal, and Vay's Republic joined, later on, it became majority Christian, specifically, majority Catholic, though the name didn't change.

The Rwandan Empire sits as the third and final global superpower, behind Caesar's Legion and the Soviet Union.

The Rwandan Empire has no set political ideology, with the different states having different ideologies all throughout. Angola is communist, Egypt is a military dictatorship, Mali is a monarchy, Libya is a pure democracy, and the Congo is tribal anarchy.

The flag itself features the face of Alexis, holding an ak47 and two machetes, which symbolize the power struggle for the country. The gun is presented, symbolizing the fore-frontal push by the armed forces (mostly from North Africa) in securing the country, while the machetes are behind Alexis, symbolizing the behind the scenes support of the local groups who were the main reason for the country's success. The words roughly translate to: "many peoples, one nation". The colors had less symbolizm, as Alexis just liked the color combination, but have been interpreted to mean all sorts of things.
