Opossum Medallion (4/4)
We climbed a tree, my boyfriend testing his newfound instincts and enhanced dexterity, and he swung himself to the cause just above me, with me standing on the branch below, staring at him, seeing that somehow, even surrounded by new smells, sensations and sounds more and more intense and sharp, there was a humanity remaining in us through our love. And while we smelled like the animals we were, recognizing our characteristic scents and stuffed with pheromones, we were nuzzling each other's noses, exchanging little licks, bites and kisses like opossums, because that's who we were at that moment and probably always will. we should have been, abandoning the problems imposed by society and humanity itself, and embracing a more natural and affective union in nature; birds dancing above us and singing happily as they welcomed the new squeakers from the forest.
