(Sketchbook Entry #3) The Fruit Gatherer
Well, it"s another day and that means off to find what else I sketch up in my month-long adventure.
This time, I"ve ended up in a wooded area. Green plants everywhere with some vines going up the tall trees.
Some of the trees seem to have a few fruits on them as the temps were getting cooler. Maybe the forest inhabitants were eating them.
As I continued on my way, also avoided some fallen branches and the vines on them. I came across a small area that looked like a nice place to set up camp for the night.
So I set down my stuff and went to gather some of the branches nearby to make a campfire. (of course, I made sure the area was clear enough as not to burn the place down. As I was gathering them, I heard something nearby. I thought to myself "did the "Jumper" follow me?"" I went and finished up with the branches and made my way back to the camp area.
About an hour later, I heard the sound again and close by. Maybe it was something else out there. So I went and got my sketchbook and began to look for the source of the noise. About 10 mins, I could not find it... but wait.. what if it wasn"t on the ground but above me? Slowly looking upwards at a branch that wasn"t too far up. I could see something small, guessing the size of a housecat... maybe a little smaller. There was something that looked to be a lizard... no a bird... lizard-bird? And it was climbing around on a branch, moving it"s head as to look for something. So standing still I waited...
Soon, it stopped moving and found what it was looking for. One of the fruits that I have seen earlier on another tree. There was only a couple left and so it got up on its hind legs and tried to reach out for it. After that failed, it would try and jump to get it. It would even try to use its curved beak to get it. Nothing. It then stands there before moving a little. It would stop and then I guess it figured it out. it would climb the branch to get it. After about 2 minutes. It finally got its prize and bit into it.

(Conclusion):
The next day after seeing the small bird-like animal. I packed up my stuff and headed off for my next stop. Not sure what name to give that little creature. Beaky?
