I sat for a little while, chest-deep in the calm, warm water. Beyond the windows, the world was cold and a chill wind blew. The clouds moved overhead at incredible speeds.
I ran a talon along the glass, marvelling at this aspect of my shape.
Marvelling too at the way the condensation pooled and ran under my touch.
Beads of cold slipping, falling down onto the old wood.

An attempt to illustrate part of the best dream of my life, and the thing that convinced me, once and for all, that I was a furry.

The first scene was in an outdoor swimming pool that was also the lot behind my old elementary school. I was with a friend I did not remember, or did not have in the waking world. We swam and played for a time and when I reached land, I stood up and saw myself from the outside.
Here, I was an anthro dragoness. I think my scales were grey or lilac. I lacked wings or horns usual in many designs, but a large tail and spines there were aplenty.
I felt whole and at peace with the world.
The second scene (shown indistinctly here) was in an indoor bathtub, in a warm room, insulated from raging winds. I was still a dragon, but I was also wearing the black sweatpants usual for my waking, human self. This pair had a hole in the back for my tail though.
I looked down at my clawed feet and up at my clawed hand on the glass. I watched the way the steam and the condensation moved, while a man I could not see asked me how my day was.
I answered him quietly and simply. It seemed I was no more talkative in this form than I would be as a human.
Less talkative in fact, as I was entranced by the storm beyond the window.
The third scene was in third-person and was in a space alive with curved wood panels. There was a large circular window. There was a cluttered desk with a man next to a half-wall. Perhaps he was the same man as the figure in the second scene. The boy from the first scene passed by, only to be sharply questioned by the man. The boy explained that he was going to fix a music box.
I saw the music box now. It was a glass aquarium tank, empty of water but full of cobwebs. Half a dozen toy soldiers holding musical instruments sat in the bottom.
The boy explained that some of the sounds the music box made hurt my ears.
And indeed in my new shape, the tinny notes of the thing caused me discomfort; I saw myself as if in a separate window, covering my fin-like ears.
The man indicated that the boy should make it quick, and returned to his reading.
Then I awoke, as despicably human as ever.
