I'm still learning myself. From what I've been told and what I've observed, the best thing to do is to practice. Yeah, it may not always turn out the way you planned, but keep trying. I'm still trying, despite my limited abilities in drawing, and for me, most of the time, it fails. But I know I'll get it eventually and I feel that you'll get it eventually as well.

But on the subject of the art in question, it looks good. And you will get better, just keep trying. :D

Work out a method for drawing certain bodyparts, most notably the head.

IE: Circle, put a cross in the middle, draw the lower jaw by shape, work from there and fill in the details around the circle.

when i try to do the circle thingy it never comes out as good as it does when i just... draw it

That's why you've got to kinda Learn how to do it.
