''Girafarig (Shiny)''
A couple days ago, I found a random odds Shiny Girafarig in the Friend Safari in Pokémon X version, and I was thrilled to bits! (Note me if you get the reference!) I named it Kirinriki, since that is its original Japanese name. The normal variation has a pink nose and equally pink scales running down its neck; the Shiny one has light blue ones instead. I'm now training him with my Absol; my Ace, a Lv. 100 Trimmien (Furfrou); and my trusty Fiarrow (many people apparently know her as Talonflame), who, as many would expect, is my main Flyer.
I remembered what happened after I uploaded a photo shoot of my FIRST Shiny in X version -- Klefki -- and I don't want to risk it again. I was prepared for this, so I created a drawing of the Pokémon instead. At first I really wasn't happy with how the head turned out, it was way too chibi-like for my taste. But then, I thought that it might come in handy as a way to show off my signature drawing style. So I basically turned a bad situation into a good one in my own way, just like I did with the predecessor Klefki. I intended to upload this earlier, but my mom said it was past my bedtime, and that I could continue with the drawing the next day. So I'm uploading it today.
One final thing, which I find very fitting for Girafarig specifically, is the fact that I found this Shiny one in the Kalos Friend Safari, in someone's Psychic type Safari. And giraffes are very common animals to spot during ACTUAL safaris! And the fact that this individual is a Shiny one, mirrors the fact that on a safari tour, it is possible for the humans in the Jeep to spot one individual animal (Giraffe, zebra, elephant, Wildebeest...) that has a SLIGHTLY different appearance than most other individuals of the same species, a giraffe in this case.

Very exciting and super interesting! Congratulations on finding this rare variant of such a unique Pokemon.
You make a great point on how you'd find such a Pokemon on a safari. The relation between a real world safari and Pokemon Safari was an enjoyable read.
I'm also glad you were able to share your achievement without people getting all upset over it being a screen capture. I'm sure seeing your GIRAFERIG in your own style is very awesome while still showcasing how you now have it on your Pokemon team. :)

Thanks, Yosh!
I've really come to like Girafarig much more since I met him at the Kilaude Friend Safari! And I am indeed very satisfied with the real-life/Pokémon comparison I thought of while drawing this piece! It's just that coincidental! ⭐🦒⭐
Do you play Pokémon too? 😉 (-o-)

Hi, Gabo!
Nice new User Icon you have!
I've been diving today! I go to a sports center in Amsterdam every Wednesday!
It was fun!

Oh, you mean on my Upload page.
That's because I don't know how to put them upright, unfortunately.
But I don't really mind. I think it's more important for the picture to be shown standing upright when clicked or tapped on.

Heh, that's a good point.
Anyway, I am very happy I own this random Shiny now, and the fact that I found and caught a Giraffe Pokémon in a ''Friend Safari'' which then BECOMES my friend, makes it all the more special to me! It's just so convenient! ⭐🦒⭐

I was confused for a moment as what you meant with that, but now I know you meant the head on Girafarig's tail. Yeah, that probably sucks.
Thanks! Pokémon in the Friend Safari are ALWAYS at Level 30, regardless of their typing. Girafarig is a pure Psychic type, originating from Gen 2 (Gold/Silver/Crystal).

Thanx, Lux!
My intention was to make it look as similar to the official Ken Sugimori artwork as possible, but the bigger head, like I said in the description, gives it an original spin!

You got a 3DS? I haven't played by Y version in a super long time, so I forget what type my Friend Safari is. I think it's Dark.
I don't know what Type my Safari is either, but maybe I could ask one of my Friends over on 3DS chat.
Of course! I would really love that! What is your Player Name?
I use the same name for everything. My 3DS friend code is listed on my FA page.
You uh, gotta give me your friend code too my man, lol.
I'll look it up for you!
Is it supposed to be secret, BTW? Or is that not how it works?

-My- friend code is listed on my FA profile. Scroll down and you'll see it listed. Your account however does not have it listed.
Mine is [ 5026 - 5121 - 6041 ]
Finally, someone else to play the 3DS with. I had almost given up hope.
Welcome, new Friend! 😉
Also, your Kiloude Friend Safari type is 👻Ghost👻, with two Pokémon -- Lampent, and Bokurei (Phantump)!

What is MY Friend Safari type, actually?
I... do think it's weird that you can check everyone's Safari type except yours. 🤨

Hang on my 3DS is charging. I've neglected it lately so I'll tell you shortly.
Your Friend Safari is water type! With the two Pokemon: Bibarel and Wartortle!
Very valuable one too. I remember in my High School days with X/Y, people who had a starter Pokemon in their Friend Safari were highly sought-after lol.
Yeah, I once saw a video on YouTube about Top 10 Hardest Pokémon To Catch, and that guy said the Friend Safari was the only way you could get Starters like the Kanto ones.
Wow, my Safari is Water type? Interesting, since Dark is actually the type some of my favorite Pokémon have (Houndoom, Absol).

I agree, I loved Mega Houndoom back in X/Y-era. Continued to use one through my Ultra Moon version too. Just a shame they got rid of the mega mechanic in Gen 8. More people loved Megas than hated, and literally not a single soul asked for Dynamaxing. Horrible mechanic Dynamaxing is.
Dynamax is indeed pretty broken, though it DOES have some interesting new rules attached to it -- like how you only get to use it for three turns, if I'm correct.
Yeah, my favorite type is Dark, mainly Houndoom (GSC), Absol (RSE), Mightyena (RSE), and I got my X version Ace Trimmien (Furfrou, as it is known in French) who has access to Bite -- a Dark type move since Gen II -- even though he is a pure Normal type. But that is actually great, since he can counter Ghost type opponents while HE is immune to THEM because he's pure Normal type. It's such a great way to counter Ghost types!

Nothing about Dynamaxing is interesting. It's an automatic "I win" button that has zero strategy involved to it. Every move becomes an automatic one-hit KO attack. Not even Z-Moves in Gen 7 were that stupidly OP, and a majority of Mega Evolutions (Aside from Lucario and Khangaskahn) weren't even that horribly broken either.
