Sketch of my two lovely ladies sharing their first smooch.
My great friend Velisren actually for my birthday back in September liked this image so much they wanted to write a cute little story about the exchange, I just hadn't gotten to the image in the queue yet. So here we go, story written by them, and edited slightly by me. WALL O' TEXT WARNING... okay you have been warned, continue.
Heck that is a long one, but its so lovely, cute and really gives some much needed cute beginnings to this cute little ship of Snoodle and Cabbit <3. Many thanks to Velisren for writing such a cute and lovely piece for my two girls, hopefully I'll give them some more inspirational pics to write cute stories about like this again in the future.
The actual pic itself was a lot of fun too and I really enjoyed the idea that this was their first ever meeting and it already ended in them kissing hahah. Both a bit shy and not really sure how fast things should be moving, but Kiki isn't afraid to make that first move when confronted by the beautiful serpent that is the goddess her people have worshipped for generations.
haha, kiki nakey. Such scandal.
anyway, thanks to anyone who has read this far, hopefully you liked the art and story, and let me know what y'all think down below.

Simulacrum
Pushed forward at spearpoint, Kiki was led through the dense foliage, bound at the wrists with coarse rope. Adorned in nothing but jewelry that jangled with each step she took, the tribal cabbit’s heart raced, threatening to beat out of her chest.
She had been chosen as the next virgin sacrifice to their Goddess, in hope of gaining favor with the deity. The Goddess had turned away every sacrifice previously, but Kiki was a special case. What if the Goddess decided to accept her as a sacrifice this time? She should be excited, she had heard many wonderful things about the Goddess’ beauty and stature, despite no one truly seeing her. But in reality, she was mostly nervous.
She didn’t want to die.
Up ahead, the trees and foliage opened into a beautiful clearing, a small river off to the side filling the space with the gentle trickling sound of running water. The river led to a pool of clear, almost motionless water, barely two or three feet deep. Several exotic fish swam about inside, without a care.
Her bindings were cut, and Kiki was pushed forward, stumbling and nearly face planting into the soil. She turned to give the guards a sour look, but they had already turned away from her, heading back through the jungle.
She straightened, taking deep breaths to steady herself. Despite not being entirely ready for this, she would fulfill her duty if only to appease the Goddess. Clearing her throat, she spoke loudly and clearly to announce her presence.
“Hello? Goddess?” Her mouth was suddenly dry. ”On behalf of my tribe, I present myself to you as the next virgin sacrifice. May my life grant the rest of my people your favor.” She knelt on one knee, bowing her head in respect and waited to see what would happen next.
The leaves of the trees rustled in a light breeze as a sourceless sigh filled the air. “Aloha.” A kindly voice said. Kiki still wasn’t able to pinpoint the direction, despite her large ears and excellent hearing. “I am sorry they have sent you here. I thought after sending so many back, they would stop.”
“W-well we all just assumed none of the others fit your standards, great Goddess.” Kiki said, still keeping her head low. Her long, lithe tail twitched in anticipation, and she had to mentally force it to be still.
“I have no intention of accepting any of the sacrifices given to me. Blood is not something I want to spill in my grove. I’ve never understood the ‘virgin’ idea. Do the men of your village purposefully shy away from you so your ‘blood will stay pure?’”
Kiki swallowed. “Not entirely, Goddess. While the younger of the village are advised to stay out of relationships for this purpose, I am not, ah, attracted to men.”
There was an almost deafening silence that settled on the grove that seemed to last for an eternity.
“You are a first,” the Goddess said quietly, almost to herself.
Kiki’s face grew hot, and she felt a little lightheaded. The voice was clear as day, directly in front of her. The Goddess so many others had failed to see was mere feet away from her.
“Stand, young one.”
Kiki hesitated for a moment, unsure if she deserved to lay eyes on the Goddess herself. But she realized she didn’t want to upset the deity if she requested it, and slowly raised her head.
In front of her stood a beautifully vibrant green snake, striped with dark tiger like bands, and speckled in yellow across her arms, back, and tail. Long brown horns with an almost wooden texture protruded out of the top of her head, spotted with small leaves and pink flowers. Those same pink flowers seemed to sprout out of various parts of the serpent's body, lush and pretty. Folded behind her back was a set of dark green feathered wings, and the goddess wore a tan tribal top, perhaps one of the few offerings the village had sent that she had decided to accept.
The snake stood, hands clasped behind her back, eyes gently looking over the many tattoos spread across Kiki’s body. Kiki’s heart began to race again, but for an entirely different reason than anxiety. She felt suddenly exposed to the Goddess the way she was, and the serpent's beauty was making her feel hot.
“In all my years of living on this island, your village has never sent me a woman like yourself.”
“L-like me?” Kiki asked, unsure as to what the Goddess meant.
“One not attracted to men.” She said simply. She sighed, shoulders slumping a little. “What’s your name?”
“Kiki, goddess.” Her tail snaked around her ankle.
The snake waved a dismissive hand. “Please, call me Evelyn, Kiki.”
Kiki nodded, maw mildly agap. She was dumbstruck the deity was speaking so casually with her.
“May I be completely honest with you, Kiki?” Evelynn asked, slithering silently over to the pool of water, watching the fish inside dart back and forth.
“You may, Go… I.. I mean Evelyn.”
Evelynn gave a small, but sweet smile at the tribal woman. “Would you believe me if I told you I was no god?”
Kiki was a little taken aback by the question. “What do you mean?”
“I have power, yes.” Evelynn stretched forward a hand and a small flower sprouted up in front of her almost instantaneously. “And I have lived an exceptionally long life, but I wouldn’t be considered a ‘God’ by any stretch of the imagination. Your tribe deemed me one, and I grew tired of trying to convince them otherwise.”
Kiki wasn’t sure what to say. Her muzzle opened and closed a few times, vainly trying to find the right words. “What are you?” She managed to get out.
Evelynn giggled, but blatantly ignored the question. “I am searching for a kahu, a guardian, someone strong and capable of protecting me.”
“Why would you need protection? You mentioned you had power, right?”
Evelyn nodded. “My magic brings life, but I can’t harm others. I fear that my status as a proclaimed ‘Goddess’ may attract the wrong kind of people someday. I wouldn’t be able to properly protect myself should that day come.”
She turned to Kiki again, there was an almost sad look in the serpent’s eyes. “That was the real reason I’ve sent so many of you back..." she sighed, looked over Kiki's form once more "...because I didn’t feel they were strong enough. Regrettably, I may have to do the same with you.”
Kiki felt an odd spike of panic in her chest. A part of her didn’t want to leave; not yet. If strength was something Evelyn was looking for, perhaps she could show some?
“Wait, please Evelyn. If I may” Kiki said, straightening. “I may not be the strongest of my village, but I do have my own form of strength I can offer.”
Raising her arms to chest length, she began to rotate her hips, stepping from one paw to the other in a short dance. She felt an energy rise inside her as she did so, and once the power had grown to its fullest, she pivoted on one paw and pointed a finger towards the sky, a bolt of lighting darting from her fingertip towards the clouds above with a crack. The smell of ozone quickly filled the air before dissipating, and the energy inside her died down once more.
Evelyn cleared her throat looking away, but Kiki noticed a hint of a blush on her cheeks as she did so. “An… interesting way to cast.”
Kiki nodded slowly, her own cheeks growing a little warm. “Dancing has always been something I enjoyed, and I find that it helps control my magic to a degree. There are times it may still misfire, but for the most part I can control it fairly well.”
“E kala mai i a ù.” Evelyn said, with an apologetic nod of her head. “I didn’t mean to doubt you.”
“It’s alright, I know I don’t look the type,” Kiki said with a chuckle. She was a very petite, lithe woman, and it was not like she was dressed in any proper way that would indicate she had such magical power.
The feathered serpent straightened. “Kiki, would you be willing to be my kahu?”
“Yes,” Kiki said, barely hesitating. a chance to be the guardian to the entity she had worshipped and revered as a God her whole life? How could she possibly decline? “I will protect you with my life.” She stopped for a moment. “But you will probably outlive me, I fear. Will you be able to find someone to properly protect you once I’m gone?”
“Oh, there’s no need to worry about that.” Evelyn said, reaching out and placing a hand on Kiki’s chest. Kiki opened her mouth to ask what she was doing, but a sudden wave of vitality flooded her body, invigorating every limb to the tip of her ears and tail.
The feeling passed, but Kiki still felt incredibly energized. “I can grant life.” Evelyn said. “I can keep you alive as long as you desire.”
Kiki breathed out slowly, her body still getting used to the feeling, but she wasn’t given much time to adjust as Evelyn leaned forward and planted her soft lips on the dancer's cheek.
Her eyes widened in surprise, reaching up to touch the spot Evelyn had kissed.
Evelyn pulled away shyly. “Sorry, that was very forward of me.”
Kiki flushed, a slew of emotions running through her. Things were moving very quickly for her, and she wasn’t sure how to react.
Evelyn looked away again, a blush forming once more. “You know, I am not ‘attracted to men,’ myself. I’ll admit living out here has been a bit lonely, so someone to call my hoa pili, or something more might be…”
Before the serpent had finished, Kiki was already stepping in closer, gently grabbing Evelyn’s wrists and pressing their lips together. Evelyn flinched at how sudden it was, but seemed to melt into the kiss, returning the gesture.
Kiki wasn’t sure what had come over her, perhaps it was the added boost of energy giving her a bit of confidence? She was just extremely grateful she had read the signs right.
The two pulled away, Kiki still holding Evelyn’s wrists. “I can do that too.” Kiki said softly.
Evelyn giggled again. “Goodness, look who’s being forward now.”
“Well, as your new guardian, I have to be comfortable stepping out of my comfort zone to assist you with all your needs, Evelyn.”
“It will be a pleasure to have you as my kahu, my guardian.” Evelyn said, giving Kiki a gentle look. “And you, aloha, may call me Evie.”
