I had enough people say they'd be interested that I let myself go ahead and do it my way. The original creature two years ago was all (flat, snakelike) scales, no fur, but the file was corrupted and I lost it. Not sure if I like this guy better or worse. I am happy with the background though...I love deserts and alien skies!
Thanks to LauraGarabedian, who brought me back these AWESOME watercolors from Italy a few months back. Finally got a chance to try them!
Original will be at Oklacon, MFF, FC, FF, etc...until it sells.

I think this actually turned out really nice, and I think the combination of scales and fur is a better result than just flat scales. And yay for traditional art too...I know you don't like doing it but you're good at it anyway. :)
This guy is very well designed. I love the way you seamlessly blended reptile and mammal attributes, and the background is beautiful!
That is awesome lady! I love it! Glad you finally got a chance to use the colors :) Hope you enjoyed them
I think the scales along with fur is really nice and interesting. Certainly something you don't see all the time.
Very unusual hybrid but a strangely appealing one. Great details, I must compliment you on your control of watercolor. It have had it get away from me one too many times not to be very impressed with your skills with the medium.
If that makes it to FF, I will be doing my best to take it home with me.

Oh, wow! I'm seeing this for the first time, and it looks like it could be some kind of reimagining of my fursona! Very neat. :)
