Yes, it was, and in the case of the Schneiders, there was a fair bit of unofficial military involvement on all sides of hat was officially a civilian event.
I've been meaning to say that I've enjoyed this highly! Terry and the Pirates was a personal favorite of mine. My uncle had whole runs of T&P and Dick Tracy from the 50s which I got to read many times, but no idea what happened to them over time. This should be re-printed into a book (e or paper)
