A scientist watched on as two guards prepared another D-class personnel for another test. The previous one hadn’t lasted too long and expired quickly so in came the next. One of the guards thought to himself "Don't think of them as human." whilst he and his partner dragged away another D-class test subject. They'd only open themselves to an attack in the form of a shank to the jugular, lest their empathy got the better of them. They had been informed the Foundation's test subjects were death row inmates who's own decisions brought them there as to not feel sorry for them.
The D-class test subject had refused so they had to drag him out of his cell in cuffs. After a rough manhandling, the scientist watched reproachfully at this heavy-handed treatment of the D-class personnel. Though unbeknownst to the guards, the hapless individual they dragged to their doom was a homeless person captured off the streets. Perhaps just shooting them would have been a better fate than what ever lied in store for them in the test chamber.
Unfortunately though, the scientist was the outlier as many viewed such treatment indifferently. He was unable to speak out anyway since he was employed by the Foundation and was sworn to secrecy, should he become a whistleblower he'd either be assassinated, or worse become a D-class personnel himself. If the guards knew who exactly who they were working with (I.E. not criminals) many would very well refuse to do their job and the S.C.P. Foundation may well collapse under it's own weight.
And here is the final product of my Halloween raffle! Took longer than I hoped but midterms and junk.
