It's the first of October so there's no better time for Halloween themed content! This one in particular is a gift for my friend namelessimp who is looking a fair bit larger than normal here. She was drawn by the very talented evianrei who does these fun transformation themed commissions around Halloween time. Check it out!
The accompanying story was written by me! It is an innocent little tale of how Impy comes to acquire her draconic form, involving some shenanigans revolving around a Halloween party. Hope everyone enjoys!

“I don’t know, Kylie, I’m not sure I’d get on that well with them…”
Kylie looks up from the counter where she was tirelessly putting together prepared meals and drinks for lunch and over to Impy standing nearby. She gave her a genuinely confused look, though she never actually stopped working on what she was doing, even when she wasn’t paying it any direct attention.
“Why would you think that? I haven’t had any problems with having people watch them before.”
The sabercat’s reassurance earned a shrug from her friend, who made a point of looking down at herself before she spoke. She was dressed rather casually, in a shirt and jeans, not exactly flattering to her bit of extra pudge but Kylie would have had no room to judge. But it was what lay beneath that concerned her: dark, dusky fur, sharp claws, a spaded tail, demonic little horns and, most obvious, her radiant red gaze.
“Well, it’s just that they’re a bit young and I’m a bit scary? Demons aren’t exactly known for instilling pleasant dreams - quite the opposite in some cases, actually! Also, I’m just not really good with kids at all? Kind of an important factor…”
Kylie considered her argument for a moment before a grin spread across her toothy visage. “That’s it? You’re afraid you’ll scare them just because it looks like you walked out the summoning circle? Pfft,” she scoffed and waved her hand dismissively. “Please; you’re not that scary, Impy! Besides,” she added, having wrapped up what she was doing and now pointing a finger accusingly at her. “You promised you’d watch them while I went out, just this one time. My normal babysitter is out and I really don’t want to miss my date,” she reminds her, tempted to remind her it might be good practice in case she ever had kids herself but… she was already asking a lot by having her over without antagonizing her, too.
“I am scary!” Impy quickly interjects, huffing and crossing her arms over her chest. “I was literally born in hell.” She held the sabercat’s unwavering, unconvinced gaze for a long moment before sighing and shaking her head. “Alright! Fine, but if they start crying when they see me then I’m not doing it,” she bargained, to which Kylie smiled and swished her tail, glad to see they’d reached an agreement.
“Great! Here, I’ve already got dinner prepared for all of you, going to put those in the fridge,” Kylie started rambling things off in a manner that suggested she had done this before, right down to the list of rules and timeline of events for the night. Impy certainly would not fault her for her parenting skills.
By the time they reached the living room, Impy was feeling both adequately prepared and sufficiently anxious for the rest of the night. Bailing on her friend now would be a real terrible move but if her kids started running and screaming, what could she do? It’d be like a horror movie only with an extremely disinterested villain. Hopefully it wouldn’t turn out like Home Alone or anything, either.
But when they entered the room and Kylie called out to them to say hello to their babysitter, they were just… nonplussed. They did offer a friendly hello in greeting - Kylie had trained them in manners well - but they only gave her one, maybe two looks before returning to what they were doing. The slightly older kids were playing something on the Switch, while the younger toyed around with more physical things like blocks and cars, and her newest was sleeping soundly in a crib off to one side. Even one curious kit (bearing some oddly familiar-looking dark fur and canine features) who came up to her to get a closer look wasn’t intimidated in the slightest when she looked down at them and gave a nervous grin, sharp fangs shown off rather obviously. If anything, it made them giggle before scrambling off to go back and play. They were well-behaved, that was definitely true!
“See? No problem at all!” Kylie declared, grinning her perpetually toothy grin at Impy seeing as introductions had gone smoothly. Maybe having a mother with great big fangs constantly adorning her face was why they were a bit more accepting of her own scary visage. Right? That must have been it. That thought would linger in the back of her mind all evening while she watched the children for her friend but ultimately she wouldn’t worry about it. Everything went smoothly and Halloween was coming up soon, so she would have plenty of opportunities for some scares. The real scare was the sly grin she got when she jokingly saw Kylie off with, “Don’t come back with any more!”.
Crazy cat…
---
Not too long after, the imp found herself back at her own place, enjoying her weekend off of work to laze around the house and spend time with her husband. It was getting late in the evening and she’d just had a small conversation with her friend, Kayla, about a Halloween party they were planning on attending later that month, prompting her to go poking around the internet for costume ideas and the like before she stopped herself. Why would she need a costume? She was plenty scary as is! Just get some fake blood, maybe a cape and bam: scary vampire! Or… something.
She chewed softly on her lower lip as she was reminded of what had happened over at Kylie’s residence. Nothing had gone wrong watching the kids - they were very well behaved, even without their mother present - but they hadn’t been scared by her. Ultimately, that was a good thing, but it kept lingering around the edges of her mind that they hadn’t even given her a double-take when they saw her demonic qualities. It was such a stupid thing to even concern oneself with, too, but something about the Halloween season was making it feel more pressing a matter than it truly was.
She paused, and then turned and looked over her shoulder after having stared blankly into her screen, lost in thought. Across the room, her husband was seated in the chair at his desk, headphones over his wolfish ears, controller in hand, and tail flicking occasionally off to the side as he focused on whatever game he was playing. She turned back to her screen. Hmmm…
After a long few minutes and a few idle taps on her desk, she went to stand up, chair rolling back and creaking softly as she stood and turned towards him. His ears flicked, clearly hearing she’d gotten up but not deeming necessary to spare a look. She watched for a moment but he didn’t seem like he’d be getting up anytime soon and she couldn’t quite tell what game in particular he was playing. If it was a horror one her plan might actually do something.
Casually, she pushed her chair back in and made to walk over towards the door, leading out into the hall, casting curious look back at him as she did. He was facing opposite the door so he would have not been able to tell when she opened the door, waited a few seconds, and then closed it again but without having left the room. She was a little surprised how giddy it made her feel as she snuck back over towards his chair, spaded tail swishing and a grin plastered on her face. It was entirely frivolous what she was going to do but being sneaky had its own odd appeal.
Closer, closer, right up until she was about an arm’s length away, which was when all of the doubtful thoughts suddenly started flooding in. What if he got mad at her or messed up something for him in-game? Or even worse, he did that reaction scare-cam video thing where rather than freak out he turned around and walloped her instead. She really wouldn’t appreciate a broken nose right now. Or ever. Oh well, all or nothing!
“Boo!” she shouted as she reached out with both hands and gave his shoulders a firm but brief squeeze. She couldn’t really think of anything more menacing to exclaim but as it turned out, she didn’t need to! Because his reaction was like she’d just walked up to him and casually asked how their day had been.
“Oh hey, hun,” he said, turning briefly from the screen to give her a smile and a nod before he turned back. “What were you getting up for?” he asked, as if that encounter simply had not happened at all. He hadn’t jumped, let alone had his ears shoot up at all at her attempt! What a rip off.
“Uhh...nothing. Just was going to grab a drink. You want something?” she asked, kind of embarrassed to even admit she’d tried and failed to spook him that badly. Probably for the best he just wasn’t aware of her attempt at all.
“Nah, I’m alright for now,” he replied evenly, clearly having not paid her jumpscare much mind, or if he was then he was doing a very good job of messing with her. “We still going to that party later this month?” he asked, throwing her another brief questioning look before returning to his game, albeit with one ear angled towards her to listen.
She gave a soft sigh and nodded. “Yeah, I was just talking to Kayla about it. Next week, over at Kylie’s parent’s place. They’ve got a ranch out in the woods they usually throw parties at.” And raise their very extended family at, she would add silently to herself. Crazy cat…
“I should be free! You dressing up for it?” he asked, almost as if he had been reading her mind for the last hour or so.
She simply hummed and brought a hand up to her chin. “Maybe…” she eventually decided on, before she turned and made for the door again, this time for real. “I’ll have to see what I can find,” she threw back over her shoulder as she went to exit, but not before she reached for her phone out of her pocket and brought up the conversation she’d just been having with Kayla, and started to text. Maybe she should try and find something scarier to wear than herself…

“Really, Kayla…?”
The pudgy fruit bat stood across from Impy in the middle of one of those big, Halloween-themed costume and accessory stores. In her hands was one of those pre-made costume bag sets, with a picture of a winged, furred creature on the front, with blood dripping from its maw and viscious talons sprouting from its fingertips. Well, that was the picture to sell you on it - the demonstration picture was more “modest” in how it portrayed those who dressed up in it. That was to say, less scary and more a bit awkward, especially in full photoshoot lighting. It read “Vampire Vampire Bat” across the top. Kayla looked down at it and then back up at Impy, confused. “What? I think it would fit fine!”
Impy sighed and shook her head. “That’s not… you are a bat, Kayla! What would be the point?” she asks, gesturing to her and the many accessories in the kit that she was pretty much born with. Heck, if she just curled her lip up some, she could have the fangs, too.
But Kayla didn’t seem to see the issue and shrugged, giving a gentle ruffle of her wings as she replied, “Well, yeah, but I’m not a vampire bat. I’m a fruit bat. I’m not going to be scary to anyone except a bowl of fruit if I show up looking like this,” she explained. “Vampire vampire bat, actually,” she corrects, nodding self-assuredly back at what she considered her wise and well-thought-out purchase.
Impy, for her part, stared at her for a long few moments before she shrugged and unfolded her arms from across her chest. “Right, well, let’s keep looking anyway, I still need to find something myself, too, and maybe you’ll find something you like more…?” Impy suggested, as if to hint that her current idea was a bit lackluster. It would be like if she went to the party dressed up as a demon. Although, the whole reason she was here shopping with Kayla at all was because she had doubted she could make an intimidating appearance with her demonic qualities alone. She would have thought naturally scary features would be better than these cheap plastic toys but what did she know? She still was not quite sure why she felt the need to prove this to herself or anyone for that matter.
If Kayla was insulted by her subtle criticism, she did not show it and simply nodded her head in agreement, seemingly alright with exploring the store a bit more. It was a well laid out and decorated place that was a step above some of the temporary huts and rented spaces these sorts of places usually used. That said, it was still a repository for annoying preteens, obnoxious pop music, and plastic junk with a steep price tag. If she had half the mind and the time, she would have gone and looked for things online, but she couldn’t deny there was something magical about wandering around and looking at all of the things on offer. For the first ten minutes or so, at least.
“Well, what are you looking for, Impy? Maybe I can help you find something…?” Kayla eventually asked after having wandered past the more cringe-inducing “pop culture” section. Not all costumes had to be scary but it wasn’t what Impy was looking for.
“I’m not sure,” she admits with a shrug. “Something… scary? I know that sounds pretty stupidly obvious but… I’m not really convinced I’m that scary otherwise,” she confessed, still having those lingering thoughts from before. She just needed a little something extra to accent her natural abilities was all, that was it.
“Really?” Kayla asked, giving Impy a look of genuine surprise in between her browsing. “I think you’re pretty scary as is! I mean, not really to me because I know you, but just, in general?” She rolled her shoulders, uncertain how to tell someone they scared people without making it sound like an insult.
“I don’t know, Kayla, you’re pretty jumpy,” she replied, giving her friend a disbelieving look. She appreciated her trying to stand up for her but it was the equivalent of an ant calling someone else huge - it sort of lost its meaning. “Flighty, if you would.” Impy chuckled and bumped into her friend’s shoulder as they walked, delighting in the indignant way she would huff and cross her arms over her chest.
“I am not!” she responded, giving her friend a sideways look before she glanced away, hiding the blush forming on her cheeks. “I”m going to the party - I wouldn’t be going if I thought it was going to be too scary. N-Not that I think it would be anyway! Or that I wouldn’t have gone, even if it was. Err….”
Impy chuckled as her friend trailed off like that, looking a bit uncertain. “Yeah yeah, I believe you, don’t worry… scaredy-bat,” she said with a cheeky little grin, just to prompt another reaction from her friend. It worked and it just made her smile all that much toothier. But it also filled her head with all sorts of devious ideas, too. The bat had been acting relatively normal their entire time here, though it was clear she wasn’t completely at ease, either. Ears alert, eyes wide - whether it was being surrounded by obnoxious youth or the store itself didn’t matter, she was ripe for being frightened. “I’m gonna go and look at some masks and such over here, Kayla. I’ll meet you up front, alright?”
Kayla nodded and Impy broke off, wandering through the racks of costumes and accessories but not actually looking for anything in particular, except for the bat. She was tempted to pick up something like a mask or weapon with which to menace her when she jumped out and startled her but thought better of it. She didn’t want to annoy the staff more than they already were and she still wanted to prove she was scary enough by herself. Sure, Kayla was an easy target, but she needed just a little boost to morale.
It wasn’t hard to do a few circles and eventually end up in the path of Kayla again without her knowing, she being quite enraptured by her surroundings and items on offer. Impy found a little spot behind a rack of clothes where Kayla wouldn’t be able to see her feet or her head when she ducked down a bit. All she had to do was wait for her to wander by and as soon as she did…
“AH!”
She jumped from behind the rack just as Kayla came into sight, yelping and grabbing suddenly at her shoulder just as she turned the opposite way to look at something on the wall. Her head whipped back around when she was suddenly jumped like that, ears shooting up and eyes going wide as her brain tried to process what had happened. Impy could practically hear the little shriek of surprise she would give before she’d even jumped out - the bat being such an easy target. Any moment now, and…
Nothing.
Her look of surprise turned away from fear and instead to recognition as those demonic features registered in her head. She’d started but beyond that, nothing! “O-Oh, hey Impy! Don’t startle me like that,” she chided, which only made her mood sour that much more. She hadn’t startled her - she’d barely even gotten a reaction! “Did you find what you were looking for?” she asked innocently.
Impy looked at her for a long few moments before she sighed and shook her head. “No,” she replied simply. She couldn’t get mad at her, especially not when this entire idea was hers to begin with. Didn’t make her feel much better, though. “I think I’m done around here, actually, if you are. Might try looking somewhere else, maybe online? I’m sure I could get something shipped before the party,” Impy suggested a bit half-heartedly before they made their way up for the registers.
Kayla was fine with it, so they went up to make their purchase - Kayla’s costume being the only one. Impy lingered to one side as the bat fumbled with her wallet and got hit on by the cashier, the bat doing a superb job of being a bit naive to it all while Impy ruminated. Maybe she just wasn’t that scary. Didn’t really matter anyway - there were plenty of things she was good at and this particular skill would only really be useful around Halloween time, anyway! What did it matter if she couldn’t creep anyone out? At least the party would be a fun and welcome unwind from work and responsibilities.
But just as Kayla seemed to be wrapping things up and thanking the clerk, something caught Impy’s eye. Sat on the counter amidst a sea of little business card holders and flyers, was one which stood out. She snagged it before they walked back out to her car, thumbing the card in her hand while Kayla strolled merrily along, pleased with her purchase. She read it: “Bianca’s Potion Shop” and underneath in smaller text: “Specializing in transformative Halloween experiences!”
Huh, how strange. The cartoonish text and witch-themed imagery implied it was a sort of small business advertisement or something but… potions? That seemed a little odd. It had a nice ring to it, though. Maybe she would check it out when she got home. She wasn’t entirely ready to throw in the towel on this spooks thing and there would be no harm in giving it a look…
---
“Wow, what a cool costume!”
“Yeah! How did you get the wings to look so realistic?”
“Bet it must have cost a fortune!”
Kylie watched from the side as her friend, Kayla, was absolutely bombarded with compliments left and right from the other party-goers as they saw her “costume”. She had gone with her original “vampire vampire bat” idea, with the cape and slightly extended fangs, but anyone that did not know Kayla wouldn’t have thought she was a bat just from looking at her, seeing as she had a rather canid muzzle and her wings were separate from her arms. So when they saw wings that could move and flex, seemingly of their own accord, they were wowed and showered praise on the fruit bat.
“Y-Yeah, I uh… a-actually kind of made them… m-myself…”
Admittedly, it was adorable seeing how flustered it made her, with her ears folded back and a blush doubtless shining beneath her fur as she drew the attention of the others. She never quite could avoid the occasional fan but when they’d stopped flocking to her, Kylie would wander over and give her friend a sly grin. “So… when are you telling them about the wings?” she asked, reaching out and giving one a gentle little squeeze before Kayla would pull them back.
Kayla, still blushing, shook her head at her feline friend. “I-I don’t think they need to know. Won’t hurt them, anyway…” she mused, smiling, feeling all warm and tingly - if a bit anxious - from all of the attention. She looked back up from her hands to Kylie again, seeing how she had dressed up for the occasion. She’d gone for less of a spooky costume and more of an “appropriate” one. She was wearing a plaid sweater and some raggedly jeans, which would have been pretty normal when she was out and about working on the ranch her parents owned and were hosting the party from, but she’d also taken some hay and stuffed it into the garment here and there, giving the impression of a scarecrow. Not exactly scary but there was that movie about a scarecrow murderer, right? She… didn’t actually watch much horror at all, and even if she did, it wouldn’t be the sort of thing her kids should be watching. It made her “in-theme” with the ranch, though, which was useful for anyone trying to find the hostess.
“Right, right. Don’t worry, your secret is safe with me,” she remarked with a playful wink. “Just don’t drink all of the punch, alright? I know it looks like blood and tastes like fruit, but…” she chuckled before she even finished with her joke, getting a playful shove from Kayla in response, who couldn’t help but giggle along, too. “Heh… anyway… have you seen Impy around anywhere?” Kylie asked, giving another cursory glance around outside where the party was being held in a big open area in front of her parent’s ranch house. Plenty of partygoers amidst the music and lamps set out to provide light but no sign of the dark-furred imp. She would be easy to miss, though…
“Mmm, no, not recently? I think she said she was going to go and take a walk around near the barn, get some fresh air?” Kayla replied, trying to remember what her friend had said. She hadn’t come dressed as anything but herself to the party, which was fine! There were plenty of guests who had not dressed up but after their little trip to the store, Kayla was sure she would have found something. “But that was a while ago…”
Kylie nodded slowly and looked over towards one side of the wide, open space that constituted a good portion of their yard. The barn was situated out of the way to give the animals a break from the partygoers and with the light shining from across the yard, it gave the building a rather foreboding feel. To Kayla. To Kylie, who had had to go out there plenty of times in the dark as a kit, it was pretty normal. Probably why the next words out of her mouth were a thoughtless, “You should go and check and see if she’s alright,” to which Kayla turned to the sabercat and gave her the most incredulously fearful look she could muster.
“Alright, alright, I’ll go with you. Scaredy bat…” she chided, earning a huff from Kayla but no argument - she definitely did not want to go alone. She was tempted to remind the bat that even her own kits had no issue heading out to the barn at night but she didn’t want to rain on her parade too much.
With that, the duo slipped off from the party and trekked across the flat field towards the big wooden structure, the lights and sound of music and conversation fading but never quite going away, even as they reached the barn. Kylie poked her head inside but didn’t see Impy in there before they decided to circle around back and see if she was up to anything. Kayla was getting pretty scared, not liking being spooked and really only hanging around because she had Kylie there, too. Kylie was more curious than anything else, not really knowing the imp to be one to just wander off like this.
The barn was situated relatively close to the treeline that surrounded their property and led off into the woods. It wasn’t particularly dangerous or anything out here since it was private property but they were pretty far out from civilization here, too, just as her mother liked it. Kylie briefly peered off into the trees to see if she could spot Impy but a gasp from Kayla as they rounded the back of the structure had her turn back around. “Look!”
Kylie followed where the bat pointed, eyes adjusting more to the gloom now that the party lights were all but obscured. On the ground were a pair of jeans, a t-shirt, and a pair of undergarments indicating whoever had lost them had clearly been (or had been dressing as) a female. Impy, most likely, seeing as Kylie vaguely remembered her wearing that rather unassuming attire to the party. But while Kayla looked like she had seen a ghost, Kylie meanwhile had a miffed expression on her face. “Aw geeze, Impy, not again!” she declared, huffing and planting her hands on her hips as she drew conclusions to the purpose of the discarded clothes. “I told her I wouldn’t invite her back if she did this at the party again…” she grumbled, looking around again as if to try and spot (or hear) their mutual friend out in the trees somewhere.
Kayla took a long few moments to actually realize what Kylie was hinting at and when she did, she did not get any less scared that something had happened to her friend, but she did get a little redder under her fur. “B-But… I just saw Horang back at the party. Before we left…” Kayla pointed out as she nervously glanced around, sticking close to Kylie.
Kylie quirked a brow at that, but ultimately ended up turning to look at Kayla and shaking her head. “That doesn’t make this any better, you know?” she pointed out before she started to walk a little further behind the barn, calling out, “Alright, Impy, get out here! I know you’re out here somewhere! Come on, I promise I won’t take any pictures this time…” she promised, though not without a little curl to her lip as she looked around. Kayla was quiet but did help look, even if she refused to go more than a few steps away from the confident feline.
Then, something rustled in the underbrush just off to their side - something decidedly big. Both girls turned towards the very start of the underbrush, where the faintest streaks of light still barely illuminated the tips of the blades of grass, and froze. At a glance, it could have easily been mistaken for just another part of the forest or the silhouette of a strangely illuminated bit of tree and branch, but under the scrutinizing eyes of the two of them, a very different visual image started to form.
Another shift and the ruffling from the foliage gave way to actual movement as thin lines of the dim light caught on whatever it was that loomed just out of view. Neither girl’s enhanced night vision helped much except to confirm that there was something there, looming in wait. Looming being rather apt, too, as its silhouette filled a not-insubstantial bit of their view. Kayla, fearful and inexperienced as she was, assumed it was some sort of monster and, though she felt the greatest urge to turn and flee, found her feet rooted to the ground. Kylie was a little more reasonable despite the eerie nature of the holiday and thought it might be a bear. She didn’t know there to be any in this neck of the woods near to where her parents lived nor had she known any to grow to such a size but… what else could it be?
While Kayla shrank in place, trying to appear less intimidating, Kylie felt her hackles raise and her fur fluff up, feeling the urge to growl and bare her fangs despite knowing she was far from a capable predator, despite her heritage. Finally, there was another rustling and the creature seemed to rise up to its feet, adding another few vague units to its overall size. Only then did a pair of glowing, featureless red orbs seem to flicker into existence, only to focus intently on the duo before they started to grow larger, the being approaching with heavy, assured footsteps.
This was apparently enough to shake Kayla from her comatose state, who processed what was happening and finally decided to spring into action. With a shrill little shriek, she splayed her wings and turned heel and sped off as fast as her legs would carry her away from the back of the barn and whatever lurked back there. She couldn’t quite put the “flight” in “fight or flight” but she certainly used her wings to put some distance between herself and there in record time.
“Kayla!” Kylie called out worriedly for her friend, trying to reach a hand out for her to stop her, but the creature did not give chase. Instead, and much to her chagrin, it remained intently focused on Kylie who, when she turned back around, found it much closer to her than before. But rather than run, she made the foolish mistake of backing herself into a corner, backpedalling until she touched the wall of the barn and swallowed. Dangit, Kayla…
The beast continued its lazy move forward, slowly moving more and more of itself into the dim light behind the barn, finally giving it more shape. It was clearly feral in nature, standing on four legs and covered in a dark, fur coat with a long and thick swishing tail behind it. Its face started to take form, too, revealing a broad muzzle and wicked looking horns. A dragon? Most disconcerting of all, however, was as more light was shone on it, bloody red highlights became more and more prominent across their chest and head, matching its eyes and lending well to an already rather fearsome visage.
Kylie sucked in a breath as the creature came fully into her sights, standing well larger than her and with a seemingly cocky smirk etched into its features that showed off rows of glistening white fangs. She knew she should probably run or strike at it or… something! But her body felt stiff and petrified in fear. Only when the great beast reared up and flared out its wings did Kylie’s body seem to have a reaction, as her eyes closed, hands went up to protect her face, and she felt herself sliding down the wall, as if to shrink out of sight or striking distance.
But… no strike ever came. No bite, no gout of flame, no heavy claw coming down on her - nothing! Nothing, except for a loud thump as it landed back on its feet and then hot breath on her cheek as it leaned in real close. There was a deep, throaty rumbling coming from the monster’s broad chest that sounded almost like… a purr? Then it spoke.
“Bet the kids would find me pretty scary now.”
Kylie’s eyes opened. “Wh-What?” she breathed out, having not realized she’d been holding it in this entire time. But now when she looked into the other’s piercing red orbs, she saw a fair bit less menace, or, no… it was still there. The visage was intimidating and the gaze a bit unsettling to the uninitiated. But that was it - Kylie wasn’t. She had seen that expression before. It was familiar! “I-Impy…?”
The voice had been her last clue. It was different: a bit deeper and smoother, but still notably feminine and with just enough of her friend there to piece it together. Her attacker confirmed it by giving a big, toothy grin in response, showing off a wide array of deadly fangs that may have been scarier had Kylie not been rapidly trying to recover from what she had thought was a life or death experience.
“You like it?” she rumbled, turning slightly to one side and showing off a bit more of her furred, reptilian form. “Figured I would go all out this year for the Halloween party, have some fun,” she mused, raising a claw up to appreciate her dagger-sized claws in all their glory. “Definitely is, too.”
Kylie took a moment to catch her breath before she pushed herself back up to her feet, still feeling her heart racing but at least not on the verge of passing out anymore. “G-Geeze, Impy, you…” she shook her head, not sure whether to be more surprised at her going this far or the fact that she had managed to scare the daylights out of her so handedly. “I think… I think you might have traumatized Kayla, actually,” she finally said, unable to help but crack a smile back at her transformed friend. “I’m a little surprised she didn’t just pass out on the spot, actually.”
Impy rumbled with laughter, something that had a lot more weight with her vehicle-like size to back it up. “Mmm, well, I suppose I should go pay her a visit and apologize. Maybe she’ll actually fly off this time?” she wondered, prompting another bemused rumble but not before she pawed, excited and anxious, at the ground below her talons. “Rrrr, I really want to feel how my own are! It’s been pretty dull waiting back here for you two to find me,” she admitted before she simply turned and started to stomp off around the barn, back towards the party across the field. “Come on! I want to have some fun~”
Kylie took a moment to process everything before she realized she was being left behind and made a dash to catch up. “H-Hey, hang on! I don’t have long legs, let alone four!” She complained, eventually getting into a fast-paced walk beside Impy as they trekked back towards the heart of the party. Certainly was going to be an interesting evening! Although, about halfway back, something occurred to Kylie. “Say… when do you change back?”
“Huh?” Impy replied, a little too caught up in her schemes of what she wanted to do while she still had her form. “Change back? I… am not sure? I’m sure it’s on the bottle.”
“What bottle?” Kylie replied, questioning look not faltering.
“The bottle I have with me! I drank it and then I… I… uh…”
There was a long, awkward moment of hesitation between the two as they realized neither of them had, nor had seen, any kind of bottle. Then, they started back towards the party again, this time with a little bit less pep in their step. This was certainly going to be an issue come morning time when she headed home. Kylie, however, seemed to be developing quite a curl to her lip as they kept walking.
“So… what do you think Horang is into more? Dragons or imps?”
“...Shut up.”

Crazy cat…

This was really precious! Poor Impy, lol, though I have a suspicion Horang might not be too upset if the potion takes awhile to wear off haha.
Love the vampire vampire bat... really interesting to think about how in an all-anthro world of course the costumes would ALSO be anthro and what they would choose to market. I can just see someone in a boardroom going "Vampires are popular this year, but what kind? A bat? NO a vampire bat! A vampire vampire bat!! I'm a genius"

Oh yes, Impy gets up to quite a lot of shenanigans while in her draconic form, rest assured! And I may have been projecting a little bit, because I work in a store that sells that kind of stuff and some of the weird stuff on offer is real! Definitely can see where it follows trends and themes.
Thank you for the kind words~
