Meet Kira!
She is Solar's aunt who is part of a rebel group that aims to uncover the secrets of Turnskin origins. Their group functions within a tribe in the forest and is set up in a facility named the Warmth. They specialize in Turnskin housing and rehabilitation (they see a lot of escaped experiments or Turnskins who have been disowned by their human families).
Their group goes by Rebel Fire (or just Fire for short) and she's their Burn which is akin to a second-in-command! Kira is the name she gives to those who aren't in her group or tribe but those who are know her as Cinder!
A Natural Turnskin is someone who was born with the ability to shift into their animal form! Someone who has this ability unlocked through other means (like experimentation) are not considered "natural".

Absolutely love her design. And the concept of shapeshifters has always fascinated me. Also great to see some black representation in stories like this as well!
I'm liking the new spin you're putting on the whole shape-shifter trope, it sounds fun!
