No, really, keep at it. Don't get discouraged. It's SO worth it.
This is something I did in grade 9. Kung-fu weasel is about to beat on this guy.

It's always nice to look back on older works, to see how one has grown. Why I keep a big box of pictures I've done since I was in early grade school.
man this is really phenomenal
how did this all happen i mean ur improvement

If you draw lots and lots, everyday indeed.
If you study perspective, do life drawings and all that sort of thing. You will become a mighty artist indeed. :)
I belive that is the point this submission is making.

well i really dont know how long ago his 9th grade year is from today. if i knew that it would answer some questions. how old is this guy anyways??
It is really cool that you kept that.... I burned all my stuff from that era... I thought if I purged all that stuff that I would stop drawing "that" stuff ;)
I wish I had a working scanner. The stuff I drew in school is decent. Now I'm out of practice, distracted by responsibility and TV.
the mustache makes the human look italian or middle-eastern. D: why's the kung-fu weasel pickin' on local small business owners?
Kung-fu weasel is clearly beating up Super Mario for not obeying the controls!
Thank you, I feel much better about myself now. xD
Hehe...Kung fu Weasel. <3

Heh, I uploaded one of my earlier pieces first thing I did here. I wanted to be able to see my progress as the years go on.
You're telling me... just look at the improvement! x3 phenominal!
Ollie you are doing what I intend to do when I reach a certain stage. Put forth a ton of my old artwork to encourage.
Hellfire, it made me feel better. Dear lord...
I'm gonna practice for a couple hours each night I work, now ^_^

Yesss! Give to the little ones, make them see you were a baby once too!
I'm going to fave this. It gives me such a boost of confidence. Thank you for sharing it.
Thanks so much for posting this. It's so easy to get down on yourself sometimes, thinking you'll never get better, and then you look back on what you were doing a couple years ago and it all feels worth it again.
Here's hoping I can reach your level of skill someday. :3

It's true. A month ago I couldn't draw convincing headshots. Now I feel, if I put my mind to it, I can draw any kind of head with enough practice.
.... this really makes me happy.. i was getting VERY discuraged .... to the point that i was just going to swear off art... im trying to get lessons from better artest then i to help me with things here and there... you do such a great job.. i just hope i can become as good as you.. heh.. i still think thats a long way off though... but you give me hope ^.=.^
Don't be discouraged. When you're unhappy with what you're working on, when you feel the need to keep changing it to get it right...that's inexperience leaving. If you keep doing it and keep learning from what you see, you'll get there. I've still got years to go before I'm really masterful. There are enough little glimpses of it to keep me going, though.
think you could give me a few pointers? i mean it cant hurt to ask right? ^.=.^ i make a promise that in either case when im a lot better i will draw you a picture to honor you. that is if you let me(i.e. give me info about the lutra or otter that you want) it would give me a good base to practice i think... but im just trying to learn.. maybe note me some time if your interested not rush or anything.. its just a question hehe.. ^.=.^ best wishes to you. and i really truly do thank you for the good words.
I feel its too late for me to start drawing... I'm writing though so it's ok. My little brother on the other hand is starting to draw himself. He's in grade nine right now. He sits next to me as I type XP. He says he wants to practice for the very least of 1 hour a day so he can improve. He says that he doesn't really want to draw full bodied art, but chibi instead. And now he says that drawing chibi won;t mean he wont draw regularly form characters. Well thanks for inspiring him for me. ^_^
I must apologise for breaking my sentences like that. I'm too used to Maple Story. lol :P
Two questions. How many years has it been and how often a day do you draw...?
This gives me hope that one day, my crap-tastic art will be half as good as the stuff you now. Thanks for posting, oh great and powerful Ollie Canal.
Worth faving just for the message alone. I'll never give up on my drawing for as far as I can see.
You my friend have made my day.
