Hey guys! Just wanted to let ya know that we’ve decided to release our Sonic fan game Chronicles of Acorn to play and try out now! We were hoping to do a lot more before putting out a playable Alpha, because it is still very raw and unfinished, but we and others put a lot into the character sprites, character art, music, maps, and battle mechanics, and it’s been sitting awhile now just collecting dust, so we figured why not! Seems like a waste to just let it sit without being played!
So if you like classic Final Fantasy style RPG’s and you’re a fan of the Archie/Satam sonic universe, then check it out, it’s completely free to play now! Just check the links below for more details and to get the game for yourself.

It’s always been a passion project for me and Blazeymix, and though we don’t get as much time anymore to really work on it, we still do hire for art occasionally to get closer to a completed first chapter. Currently we have a few new battle sprites finished that need to be added yet, so we’ve fired up a Discord for CoA where we can drop updates to the game and chat with you guys about the game development! Sally and Bunnie are currently playable, and Fiona will be added to the game next, so if you’re interested in future updates to the game, be sure to check out the Discord where we’ll put out future builds and fixes and such. We’re on there pretty regularly now, and we love hearing your feedback! :)

Also, just wanna give a shout out to the many great artists who helped with the game so far, cause you guys have been really helpful and awesome and it’s always been appreciated! Our sprite and asset artists KetchupWithFries, Shelby, Pedrovin, the sprites continue to blow me away as it’s an art form I deeply admire but could never do, so thanks for your amazing work! If I’ve forgotten anyone who helped with sprites, and I know there’s at least a couple, please let me know and if you have art accounts somewhere I’ll be sure to add the links here as well. Our amazing composer Cilantro, who made for us a complete original soundtrack for the game, we always loved it and still love listening to the tracks, so thanks again for the amazing music! And to

Just wanted to say thanks for your patience and support, the art and music could never have been done without you guys, so thank you all. As a strictly fan project, sadly life makes it hard to put much time into things we can’t really support ourselves with in the end, but I’m still pretty determined as a fan to get at least the first chapter up to knothole completed. Walkin around a fully realized RPG Knothole village, chatting with a village full of NPC’s, including a recognizable Sonic cast, goin on side quests through the forest, that’d be pretty damn sweet for old fans like me, and I’m sure for a few of you as well. As in like mature audience rating? Well there is one scene with nudity in this build of the game currently, so I guess right now rated 17, or whatever they give for nudity. But that was when the game was intended as an HRPG, and we’re not doing that anymore with main game. So any future builds will likely remove that one nude scene.
The new plan was to make the main game for everyone, maybe a few dark and mature themes, but nothing much darker than the comics or cartoon ever did. Then we were gonna make a smaller side game that is more mature, nothin huge, a mission or two that go wrong in a sexy way. ;)

Uncut version of CoA with a bonus sex dungeon. lol Only for folks who are interested in the porn, and there's quite a few like that.
I did indeed, actually your NPC was completely finished if I recall, sprites and all, just needed a home in the game. xD That’s why I wanted to get Knothole completed, cause we already had a few NPC’s finished and almost finished, they just needed Knothole. xD Which Blazeymix did create a map for, but just hadn’t been put in the game yet, because Fionas chapter came first up to that point. Hopefully sometime soon though, been wanting to see those NPC’s walkin around fir awhile now.

Just wondering, you say you plan on the next version of the game to be general audience? To what degree do you plan on doing that? Because even the character designs right now based on the poster here feels like it is at least lightly intended for a mature audience. Personally I don't mind that, and would like to see more adult themed Sonic fan games out there in general regardless of any nude scenes or not.
Well, it was originally designed as an HRPG, with that intention in mind, but we kinda got into writing the story and making the battles and we found we just really wanted to write and make a good RPG story/game. We’re both fans of old SNES RPG’s, and have always wanted to see a Sonic themed RPG, with good art, music, story, and we figured we’re probably not the only ones. Gets difficult to write a good story, without the sex and smut just completely taking over and we liked what we were writing too much, couldn’t find any way to mix it with smut in a way we’d be satisfied with. So now main game will be a lot more SFW, some mature themes and of course sexier designs, maybe some nudity at the most, but that’s about it. Then we’ll likely do a lude add on version after we get a first chapter, for those still interested in the HRPG, add an extra dungeon with nudity and smut, we’ll cut loose in that version, get raunchy with it, but it won’t be as long.
That’s what we’re thinkin anyway. It’s tricky finding the time these days, but we get these little bursts of interest from time to time where we push a bit harder, and then we get a little closer to done each time. :)

I am actually a game dev myself, and will be using the Unreal Engine for my own projects soon enough. Basically my projects will be adult themed games even with times of nudity, but no sex scenes really. Because of that I wouldn't call what I make porn games exactly despite them still containing 18 content. It can be kinda awkward because the gamer community seems to love hard wall separating porn games from normal games... games with only full detail nudity but no sex seems to be something that doesn't quite fall into either group, which might confuse some people, or get wrongly labeled. But personally I would love too see more legit adult games with well crafted characters, story & gameplay that isn't afraid to also include ecchi or whatever adult content. Personally I don't find it a hard balance myself, nude scenes or whatever just needs to be logical & match the story content while not feeling forced. Anyways was just sharing my thoughts.

Hi there! Sallyhot is the artist/lead art designer of the project and I am the developer! This little detail is important, because while this project is definitely our brainchild, but it was ultimately my decision to can the H part of the game. I know, boo. I came to realize exactly what you mentioned: that folks seem to separate a game with porn in it from normal games, and because of that, I knew folks weren't going to like my game! It's -too- much like a game! I hated the idea that folks would play it only hoping to reach the smut and not actually enjoy the game for what it was. I don't know what it is, but if the game has the H tag in it, folks are only there for that! and that's.. just not the kind of game I wanted to make. :) I decided I wanted something for all the fans to enjoy, while keeping things more dark, mature and adult. If there ever is sex, it'll be more tasteful! and a part of the story like in Witcher or Mass Effect. Even to this day, folks will complain to me that there's no porn anymore and say they aren't interested. And I'm like, "You aren't interested in a Sonic themed RPG?" I get it's not a porn game, but it's still a game! lmao Do folks forget they like games?

I was aware Sallyhot was mainly the artist and you were the dev actually. I did look into it quickly before saying anything. Anyways I think you are being paranoid to say folks wouldn't like your game just because both porn & actual game content was in it, not that i am trying to change your mind for the direction of your game. However i think it is assuming to much to say nobody would enjoy a porn game that plays like normal public real games, I know that personally I enjoy porn more when it isn't shallow, and the devs try to get me attached to the characters... it actually makes the sexy stuff more meaningful! Just think for a moment, which do you prefer more? porn of characters you don't have any connection to beyond their design, or porn of characters you have learned to care about over time? Food for thought.
On another note. I seen a few Sonic RPG fan games in the works within the last few years, I think this might be the 3rd that comes to mind now recently. I think there is another even based on Sonic SatAM which came out this year too just to say. I am sure your game will be different enough, but i can get why some might want porn in it also to further make it different from the others. Anyways as I said before this, I am fine with the direction you are talking about, as it is still leaning in the adult direction enough and not just being another game forcing itself to be kid friendly for easier attention.
