Yay, I finally get to upload this piece! What? Who's that guy on the right? Whoo!!? Hehehe. Thank you, Kodaaaaaa. Oh these are the precious rare moments when you receive a commission order and find out the client wants your own sona it it. Did you hear that? I was paid to draw my own sona! How wonderful is that? Oh, this is the life ♪ Thanks again, Koda, for ordering this commission. It was such a nice change of pace that I didn't know I needed.
The client wanted both of us at a cafe, while raining, where my sona is sharing stories of the adventures in Insignia (my sona's lore is that he got isekai-ed at some point). So this is the scene that I came up with. Loose bestiary notes and leather bound journals galore!!

Yeah. I like the blue one personally. But I think the red one pops out more against the BG, and it matches the drawing in the book. Also, it kind of splits the drawing in half with your side being blue and mine being red, so I thought that dichotomy would be interesting for viewers. But originally the crystal was painted blue :)

I couldn't believe it when I saw it. Its lovely to see your Sona again, I haven't seen him for ages, what a wonderful surprise. I'm amazed at the detail you've into this beautiful piece of work. The book, the sheets of note papers, how the tattered edged map, is hanging over the table and with rocks holding it down on the table, along with the light shining through them giving that gentle green glow, shows your heartfelt attention to the scene. I'm also, intrigued with the necklace designs, especially since there's 3 of them and we only see 2 characters. The lighting gives them a wonderful glow and their expressions show an enthusiastic discussion. The rain water fall effect on in the background is amazing.
For me, I love how this is telling a story, the red crystal, the notes and how its looks as if they are planning an adventure.

About the necklaces, each of our sona's already wear pendants as a signature look. The one on the table was just knickknacks that I thought would be an interesting Insignian artifact to bring. Btw, nice catch on the "planning an adventure" part. I was indeed thinking of scenes from Uncharted when I was painting this.
