Brent looked over at the entrance of the club, watching the lights change color through the cracks in the door, “I’m unsure how I feel about this…”
Terry placed his hand on Brent’s shoulder, “Come on, dude! You need to get out more and this is the perfect place!”
Brent wasn’t necessarily the most social person, so his best friend had mostly been trying to get him to go out more. Admittedly, some random club wasn’t what he had expected…
The man felt Terry take ahold of his arm and pull him into the building. There he felt all of his senses be assaulted by blue and purple strobe lighting and some song he couldn’t focus enough to actually try and determine the lyrics of. And then there was all of the people he was bumping into… This was already turning out to not be a fun experience.
“I think I need to sit down…”
Terry looked over at his friend, the music having drowned out what he said, “WHAT?”
“I THINK I NEED TO SIT DOWN!” Brent yelled.
Terry shrugged as he pulled Brent to a bar that was at the side of the club. The two took a seat as Brent tried to rationalize the experience.
He sighed, “Sorry, all of the lights and the sounds were already getting too much…”
Terry patted Brent’s back, “Nah, it’s fine dude. That happens to a lot of first timers here anyway.”
“You’ve been here before?”
“Quite a lot actually. Nice place to meet people.”
Brent smirked, “Got a girlfriend out of it?”
“Wha- no! I’ve never felt that way towards anyone…” the way he trailed off towards the end made Brent suspicious, but he decided not to push.
The remark did make Brent think about himself though… The man looked over at his longtime friend, watching the man stare at the bar’s menu. He had admittedly had an on-off crush on Terry for some time, though he was too afraid to admit anything.
Terry raised an eyebrow, “I don’t remember half of these drinks ever being a thing on this menu… Desired Self? The Life Changer?”
One cue, the bartender arrived where they were sitting. He was a hairy, burly man, his beard tied with various bands and a balding head. “Pick anythin’ yet?”
Terry looked up at the bartender, “You seem new. What happened to Miranda?”
The bartender snorted, “Quit.”
Terry eyed the menu, “Guess that explains the new menu… I guess I’ll give the Life Changer a try.”
The bartender nodded, then looked over at Brent, “‘nd you?”
Brent rubbed the back of his neck nervously, “I’ll have the same thing he’s having.”
The bartender lifted an eyebrow and smiled, “Two Life Changers comin’ up.”
He began to walk away to prepare the drinks when Terry spoke up, “Hey! If you’re gonna be a permanent fixture here can I ask your name?”
The bartender smirked, “Maurice.” Then he walked away.
Terry watched as the guy walked away, “Am I the only one who thinks he was weird?”
Brent shrugged, this whole experience felt weird to him already.
[]
Maurice was in the back of the bar preparing the duo's drink, mumbling to himself in the process.
“Those two are hopelessly ‘n love ‘ith each oth’r, t’s quite obvious…”
Placing two cups of iced, red liquid on the table, he searched for the last ingredient of his concoction within the shelves. Once he founded it, he pulled out a vial of glittery, purple liquid labelled Desired Self.
He smirked, “This should help ‘em get a bit closer with each other…” He then poured a drop of the liquid in the two drinks, causing them to sparkle and become glittery.
The man walked over to where the two were sitting and placed their drinks in front of them, “‘njoy.”
Maurice walked away from the two smiling, one more adjustment and the two will be together in no time…
[]
Terry held up his drink and stared at it, “I swear this is just Coca-Cola with glitter in it.”
Brent took a sip of his, “It tastes like sugary fruit punch.”
Terry began to drink his, “You’re right, but the glitter was overkill.”
“If there was glitter in it I’m pretty sure we would’ve tasted it on the way down.”
“Whatever, man.”
Brent sighed as he began to feel lightheaded, “Was this non-alcoholic?”
“I don’t feel buzzed. Maybe you’re lightweight?”
“I guess…”
Everything at the club began to feel toned down. The lights were no longer as bright and the music wasn’t as intrusive to his ears. Looking over at the crowd, watching them dance to the beat of whatever song was playing, part of him felt like this could be him. Or more importantly… him and Terry.
“Terry, can I ask you something?”
Then the song changed…
“After this, I love this song!”
Brent sighed as he tried to make out the lyrics…
Oh, don’t you dare look back
Just keep your eyes on me…
I said you’re holding back…
She said…
“Shut up and dance with me…” he mouthed. Suddenly, a warm feeling began to emerge in his body as he felt something within him change. Looking over at his best friend, he was prepared to ask if his friend felt a familiar feeling… only to see his friend looked a bit different.
Terry’s spiky, red hair had begun to look longer, wavier. Much of his body hair that was visible from his grey polo shirt was beginning to disappear as Brent could’ve sworn that his friend had two mounds poking out from his chest.
“Terry, do you feel a bit different?”
His friend looked at him, allowing Brent to take a look at how much of his facial hair was gone, “I don’t believe so, why?”
Brent wanted to say something… but he couldn’t. “I think I need to go to the bathroom!”
Terry shrugged, “Alright, man.”
Brent then booked it.
In the bathroom, Brent began to contemplate what was happening. His friend’s gender was switching right in front of his eyes… And then he caught a glimpse of something in the bathroom mirror.
Stubble. On his face.
Brent raised a hand and felt it, the pricks of hair growing at a rapid pace right under his palm. This wasn’t possible. That bartender clearly spiked his drink. He rolled his sleeves up in panic as he watched more and more hair grow on his arms and hands. The two had also begun to bulk, becoming larger and chubbier as time progressed. This was impossible! This had to be some sort of trip!
Brent felt something punch him in the gut, forcing him to unzip his black hoodie and raise his t-shirt, watching as his stomach and chest was beginning to poke out. It was growing larger, replacing what muscle the man had. Brent was a somewhat muscular guy, but much of that was being shrouded by fat. This wasn’t right! A carpet of hair covered his chest, forcing him to pull his shirt down in fear. His clothing was already beginning to feel constricting…
Back at the bar, Terry was watching the crowd dance to Shut Up and Dance by Walk the Moon. He sighed, a feeling of longing entering his brain. Perhaps now could be the time he could tell Brent how he felt…
A cocky-sounding voice then broke him out of his train of thought, “Hey there babe, wanna leave this joint and have a little fun!~”
Babe? Terry looked over at the guy and deadpanned, “You’re clearly drunk!” He said, catching that his voice had raised an octave.
The guy rolled his eyes, said whatever, and left.
Terry raised a hand at his cheek and felt his face, realizing much of his facial hair had disappeared. Looking at his other arm, he noticed more of the changes he had succumbed to. A new warm feeling surrounded him as he felt his body shrink in size, with many new feelings welling up in him.
“Woah… this is weird…”
As much as part of him wanted to panic, he was beginning to feel content with his body’s changes. This felt great to him, if not slightly weird as to what would even cause such a thing.
“Maybe this is what Life Changer meant…” he whispered to himself.
Another warm feeling filled his body as his muscles ever so slightly shrunk. He looked down at his hand to watch the fingers shrink, becoming daintier and feminine. Then came the red nail polish that washed itself over his nails. The mounds on his chest grew slightly larger as his belly toned, whatever remaining body hair disappearing into his skin.
Reaching up to his hair, he felt that it had already lengthened down his neck, just as he liked it. A sharp pinching came across his ears as two earrings materialized, gold and faux crystal draping from the lobes. He remembered when Brent gave him those for his birthday last year…
Wait…
That wasn’t… was it?
Terry began to feel new memories surface in his brain, many of them about him (or her) with Brent. His cheeks flushed as he recalled all the time they spent together, the dates they went on…
Dates…
This was a date!
Back in the bathroom, Brent was leaning on the bathroom door as he felt more changes occur in his body. His legs itched as hair washed across them, bulkening in the process with fat. He could feel his feet expand in his shoes, his shorts feeling extremely constricting on his new figure. He frantically felt his arms and body as he continued to try and rationalize the situation. Looking back in the mirror, he watched as his hair lengthened, lightening into a blonde as it tied itself into a neat bun. Brent had always wanted a bun…
He looked back down at his body, inhaling sharply as he took in what was happening. This is what he wanted to be on the inside… it always was. Walking up to the mirror, he placed his hand on it. This is him now. And he was beginning to want to accept it. He watched as the changes rippled across his face, pudgening it. His nose became smaller and button-like, and he felt his body get taller and lengthier. This was a great feeling…
He thought back to Terry, remembering that Terry too was changing. Furthermore, he remembered those drinks… Life Changer… maybe this is what that meant.
He could still hear the song coming from the club. It sounded so familiar. Memories of dancing to it with his girlfriend sprung to mind… It was their song.
One final change rippled across his body, this time affecting his clothing. He watched as his hoodie unzipped, the zipper disappearing as buttons began to form along the side. The sleeves unfurled as the material changed to a light denim, the hood itself shrinking into a shirt collar. His t-shirt just grew in size to accommodate his larger stature, alongside his shoes. Finally, his shorts lengthened, lightening into a deep blue as they become a pair of jeans.
More memories filled the man’s head as he recalled all the wonderful times he had with his girlfriend. After a few moments, he finally remembered what this was…
This was supposed to be a date!
Brent frantically opened the door to the bathroom, more and more memories filling his head, replacing the old ones as he was remembering Terry as more than just a friend.
Back at the bar, Terry’s head was fogging up as thoughts of Brent being just a crush blew up into throughts of him being his boyfriend. The changes went to the man’s lower body as he felt an uncomfortable pain in his groin, changing him into a her. Her burly, masculine legs shrunk in muscle to become more feminine, losing the hair they had in the process. She could also feel her feet shrink, too becoming daintier and her toenails too gaining red nail polish. Her shirt and shorts began to merge as her polo’s collar and buttons disappeared. The sleeves shrunk into nothingness as the neck became deeper, the shirt being held up by meer straps. The legs of his shorts gave way, merging and lengthening into a skirt that flowed down to her calves. Her newly formed skirt lightened, the grey and black of the former components changing to a bright ruby red. To accompany her skirt came her shoes, the heels raising as the shoe proper shredded itself, becoming more like heeled sandals.
Tamara looked at her new attire, remembering it as the dress she wore at her and Brent’s first date. The last of the changes covered her head as the last of her facial hair degraded. Her lips thickened as cherry red lipstick swept over them. Her chin rounded as the last of her masculinity faded away. Today was the date of her and Brent’s two year anniversary. She looked around for her boyfriend to find him walk up and sit next to her at the bar.
“I’m sorry I took so long, sweety.”
Tamara looked at her boyfriend, “It’s fine, at least we can catch the end of this song!” She grasped his hand and brought him to the mass of people.
“You know I can’t dance…”
They placed a finger on his lips and shushed him, “Just listen to the lyrics.”
And so he did, the two beginning to mouth the chorus to each other…
“Don’t you dare look back…”
“Just keep your eyes on me…”
“I said you’re holding back, she said…”
Tamara smirked, “Shut up and dance with me…”
Brent smiled, “This woman is my destiny, she said…”
“Oh, oh, oh… shut up and dance with me…”
And then the two kissed.
Two hours later, the couple walked out of the club.
Brent smiled, “Have I told you your dress looks absolutely stunning?”
“Every year when I wear it on our anniversary, honey.”
“And every year you look more and more gorgeous…”
Tamara laughed, “Oh stop!”
Brent placed a hand on Tamara’s shoulder, “When we get home we can end this anniversary on a loud note…”
Tamara smirked at her husband’s request as the two walked to their car. Tonight was a night the two of them were going to remember forever… and more importantly…
“Can we stop for a moment.”
Brent paused his walking as he looked over at Tamara, humming in response.
“We’ve been friends for fifteen years, together for two, and I think…” she pulled a box out of her purse and got down on one knee, “It’s time we seal the deal. Brent Daniels, will you marry me?”
The box opened to reveal a golden engagement ring. Brent’s eyes began to water as his heart felt like it was going to leap out of his chest. “Yes, I will marry you!”
Memories of being Tamara’s boyfriend filled Brent’s head again, but this time as a recall. Originally, he felt too scared to ask her out, too fearful of rejection… And now… Now they are going to get married… This was the happiest day of his life.
[]
Maurice watched the event unfold through the window of the club and smiled. Just by looking at them he knew the two loved each other, they just needed a little push…
Looking back at the bar, he watched as another guy sat down. The man seemed pretty bummed about something. Smirking, the bartender walked over to him, preparing to better another person’s life.

This is somewhat a rehash of a story I uploaded a month ago, which can be viewed here ( https://www.furaffinity.net/view/43030912/ ).
Of course with this being a rehash I use the same characters who I've somewhat developed a liking towards in terms of using them in stories, so I might use them more as time progresses. I did attempt to make it different enough in terms of how everything plays out though.
Funnily enough this was born out of a conversation involving audio triggers, though I'm unsure how prominent the audio trigger is to a viewer.
