I'm not gonna lie, folks. This commission presented a number of challenges for me. Not the least of which is expressing a very somber and heartfelt message featuring a balloon typhlosion. But this is how the commissioner, DatShinyTyphlosion wanted to express himself, and I wanted to give him that chance.
The other issue is that... well.. I tend not to be very political in my work (for lack of a better word). I don't like alienating people or making them uncomfortable. It was something I'd considered just doing privately for Shy to use as he saw fit. But once again, I feel my friend deserves a chance to express himself in his own way. And while I don't intend to make this a recurring thing or anything, I do agree with this message.
I want to be clear, though: I don't think you're a monster if you hold a different viewpoint. People have different perspectives on things, and that's okay. I welcome ***CIVIL*** discussion about the issue, as long as it's in the spirit of expression and discussion rather than suppression and hostility. I trust you guys on this one.

Glad you opted to publicly post this one rather than share it privately. I agree with your thought process at pretty much every point here, and I think you succeeded in making the message of the piece shine through in a serious manner.
Say their names? Like 7 year old Secoria Turner? Or Sasha Johnson the BLM activist? Oh wait..... BLM doesn't say their names.
I tend more towards the A.L.M. side of things, African, Asian, Indian, native, scotch-irish, Arab.
till every single person on this ball of dirt is treated the same as every single other one, the world will not be truly fair and equal.
and i don't think its something we can do one group at a time, no, it has to be all of them at once because if we somehow say manage to remove and destroy all bigotry against those of African descent lets say...those bigots aren't going to go away, no they are going to redirect there hate to a group that doesn't have those protections yet...
To fix this problem we need to root and destroy its underlying cause, ignorance, fear, and blind hate.

I agree that all lives matter, and I don't think anyone really disagrees with that statement unless they're a psycho.
The idea is that black people are the ones that have been disproportionately brutalized by the police, and are thus in more urgent need of systemic reform at the moment.

although people will still accuse you of being racist if you say all lives matter vs their race specific wording seems
Well its context, Context is important, I have no problem and approve if your saying ALM in the sense of you want to fight against discrimination period. But if you throw it out there with no context it creates a situation where its up to the readers interpretation, and if history has thought us anything leaving the interpretation to loose, rears its ugly head real fast... I would go with an anti discrimination message over ALM that way its cut and dry and the interpretation is water tight you get the point at a glance with no interpretation needed.
Because ALM can sound like your against those people who are fighting discrimination because your downplaying there point by saying there discrimination is not as important and applies to all even though you mean the exact opposite... Like I said good intent on paper but context in the delivery is incredibly important here when speaking to the masses.

the context i see this happen with are more people that don't like discrimination, but do not support the all of the activist groups agenda,
the other context i see this is for people that say discrimination is not a one sided or one way thing, and thus don't support the focused agenda of s group that has take a statement for their name to make it so they can claim people that don't support their group don't believe that a 'black' person is important
... it's probably not worth going on here, but this is a piece of the context

But that's what I am saying if you can interpret that much from just one message that's a red flag that your context on the message is to loose and can be mis interpreted or lost in translation. When its a private conversation like this the context can easily be explained to the small group here rendering inaccuracy null.
But when speaking to the masses every single person with different mindsets and opinion's will see it and it only takes one to misinterpret it as bad before others sink into that bad interpretation of what your saying and you have a group calling you such things when as I said you mean the exact opposite.
Good on paper but you need water tight context for those reasons when speaking in a public setting you even see me bat the anti discriminatory message here because anyone who sees it will know EXACTLY what I am saying there is no interpretation needed meaning no one can make such reaches, preventing that problem all together. Followed by my opinion on the group in particular so people know I am not just doing the moral option just to play it safe and showing I do have an opinion on the matter.

The simple comeback to "all lives matter" is that all lives don't matter until black lives matter. You can easily replace "black" in that sentence with "African", "Asian", and so on, and it remains equally-true.
Summary: All lives *should* matter, but right now not all lives *do* matter, and that's what needs to change.

Glad to hear you have the same reasons I have in regards to not wanting to get very political with your content, as well as making it clear you don't treat others like terrible people for disagreeing with you. I already suspected as much since I actually saw you leave a pretty civil comment on one of Just a Robot's videos on YouTube once, but it's great to see you come out and admit it! ^^
As for my opinion... I'd rather not say 'cause I don't wanna get too political with this than I already am.. Let's just say me being a JAR fan is proof enough of where I tend to stand...! ^^;

There's nothing wrong at all with supporting BLM or being anti police brutality. That should be the standard view across the board. I say that as someone who generally has a very favorable view of police (as individuals anyways, there's certainly many issus with the system). Though I think I personally generally don't care for most of the BLM movement because much of it goes way beyond merely condemning brutality and is used to justify political violence and some pretty generally abhorrent views.
That being said I think that's just a very vocal minority. Black lives do matter of course, and racism is still an issue in this country and there are many steps that need to be taken even outside of police reform to fix the issues in this country.
Rambley comment aside, thanks for at least being civil about this issue. Theres a lot of anger going around and while at least some of it is definitely justified, I think a lot of people are just making everything much worse with how they approach this.

My stance on this is very cut and dry discrimination is unacceptable we live in a age of information and understanding. If some cant accept that then they get left behind, plain, and simple because being different does not make any person better. And those that discriminate have no power because it is just a showing of a want to have an entitlement for power that they do not have and have no right to wield.
My opinion on BLM, it was a advent waiting to happen, its mostly non aggressive and even if it was what power do those that talk against it wield to say that it was fair to be aggressive themselves to such communities cause they think there better? Absolutely none and as such I think it was a event that I not only think was gonna happen, to those that discriminate I personally believe they deserve it to have such an outcry occur.

As for another thing to note I personally agree that civil conversations about this should occur because some are to scared to talk about it and if such a post lets them open up there opinion's we can conversate about it and get to the root of the problem then stand here stand off style glaring at each other with mistrust.
That does not get us anywhere that just makes everyone very paranoid if there opinion will be accepted. Which is why keeping this civil allows them to open up. Even those that have bad morals it may let them open up and allow us all to get to a point of solving a deeper problem then standing here being mad at each other.

if saying about historical guilt, should middleeasterns kneeling down in front of my countryfellows? Middleeastern race tortured and humiliated my nation during centuries, raping our women and enslaving our people. Even today in 21 century my people still consider middleeasterns as "race of slavers"
Honestly sad how this phrase has become so divisive in society. Hell some people have viewed "All Lives Matter" as divisive too even though people who said that probably didn't mean any ill will.
As to why people are so divided on this, I can understand, it's why I despise BLM as an organization with all the shady business things their "leaders'" have done in recent history and the destruction that happened while under the guise of a civil rights protests.
That doesn't mean I believe all of the BLM protests were riots or used as an excuse to destroy stuff, mind you. I will be very clear and state that Black Lives Matter as a movement is a good thing because there are plenty of officers that have abused their power and killed people who were just sitting in their cars or lying on the floor practically begging for their lives. It's sickening.
But I will also bring up that there were many bad faith actors that used the phrase and others as a shield to hurt people, police officers in particular, not for racial justice but for selfish reasons. Turning a movement that should have been apolitical into a political movement which only damaged its cause.
We've always known that police have targeted black people more than other races and that was something that needed to be addressed but violence that occurred under the guise of BLM as well certain people trying to defend such acts really did hurt the movement for many. What should have been a unifying call, and originally was in the first few weeks turned into another way to divide. And it shouldn't have been.
Finally, I know the destruction wasn't as wide spread as some people made it out to be, but still looking at those destroyed businesses, ruined homes and listening to stories of police officers who just got fed up with all the hatred and vitriol that followed the BLM movement made me sit there and wonder if people weren't going too far with this. Black Lives DO Matter but could it be that some people went too far? That perhaps people did too much and did more harm than good? I guess only history will know that answer.
Sorry for the rambling but I have a lot to say here and I know most people won't want to listen to a rambling raichu on the internet who only askes for TFTGs.
