A Small Step Towards Large Figures
I know many of yall will be disappointed to not see me post up some excessively chonky critter. But don't worry, I'll get there. This is a proof of concept action figure base to finalize the various tolerances and clearances I've been experimenting with over the past couple weeks.
Using a very accurate athletic build, I checked to make sure that everything works with a worst case scenario, thin/small limbs, and a constrained body cavity, with little contact area to massage the ball joints into. So now when I start work on heftier articulated figures, there should be more wiggle room in making the character more accurate.
The design itself is inspired off of the old GI Joe figures that used elastic to hold the limbs together onto the torso, and as such, I'm hoping to make these a similar size, around 3 and 3/4 inches tall, or at least to that scale. Though I will also say this is also due to the limitations of my resin printer as the build area is woefully small.
Anyway, keep your eye out over the next couple weeks as I try and make some actual action figures.

I like to think of them as 'inaction' figures cause I dont think most of the fatties I make get a lot of 'action' so to speak.
Oh wow! This is looking awesome! I'm looking forward to seeing where you go from here :)
Yeah, I kind of want to take a blank and just paint the entire thing to see how little or significant the paint wears off at the ball joints. But I'm probably going to just wing it with my next model. Especially considering how wear resistant clear coat is when you give it a good time to dry.
I will also admit, this figure has taught me a few things already when it comes to various joints, adding cuts in certain places to increase the flexibility. Like the legs/knees dont bend as much as I hoped because it keeps hitting the inner thigh. Also the pelvis is a bit on the floppy side due to putting too much clearance in the ball joint, allowing it to want to dislocate.
Still, gonna be fun working on the next couple of figures.

"I know many of yall will be disappointed to not see me post up some excessively chonky critter." Hey now, that's not true at all. I'm disappointed to see you not posting stories.
Honestly surprised to see that.
Always thought 3D physical 'visual' things would be better than the written word when it comes to fetishy stuff.
Either way, you should see more written stuff in the future, I've been working on things and trying to balance all my projects.
