(UTOverse belongs to Hetzer ) Came up with this a little while ago refining it. Just another fun short story ideas. Seeing how uniform the UTO is and how messy humanity is, a wave of military graffiti and art on gear made sense. Also added a little bit of the real world for some more moving ideals. Show how art is everywhere and most don't even see it sometimes.
Enjoy, Fav and Watch for more of this stuff! Comments always welcome! Happy reading!
UTO - Combative Arts -
Art is a grand area for those strange wonderful thinker and creators to make their dreams reality. Humanity's own art pieces had great beauty from its portaits to landscapes and statures or simply randoness. And to many more war minded cultures their ways of the art of war were humbling. Gorilla warfare, combat technologies, Even military culture and tradition were an insight to what humanity had endured and now faced. Humanity had a fury from what their first contact turn genocide was. The UTO thanked the stars they helped humanity.
Humanity loved its warfare but they fought in many odd ways other then soldiers. Art took more forms in units, in branches and even the indevital soldiers. Graffiti on gear are common but these new forces humanity showed off even more of their artistic ways.
Units of all types start to adopt names and symbols for sticking out as a way of rebelling subtlety. Soldiers make doodles scratched in their armor and weapons to personalize them. It seemed insane to many higher ups and top brass but morale stayed high because of this graffiti artwork. Soon fighter pilots painted teeth or named their planes with squadrons becoming themed. Hell, their was a unit called the 'Hellhounds' which became know for gorilla warfare and another squad of women fighters called the 'Valkeries'. Even Captains painted ship nameplates in fancy text and paint. It worked wonders in combat.
Units became feared by name alone, ships surrendered seeing the names of battleships and fighters with their fury of crative names that barely seemed appropriate along with the imagey. Slogans like 'War is hell' or 'Still Alive' angered the top brass pretty badly as it effected recrutment but it soon became a challege to see who could come up with the one to anger those top heads in office. As more of this military graffiti coniuted on a more well known human military symbol apperared. A simple yet funny drawing with the words 'Kilroy was here' underneath.
The simple head with two eyes, a nose sticking over and two hands holding onto the wall. It seemed so strange at first but grew to be more then a joke. No matter where, no matter who put it there, for every soldier knew as long as Kilroy had been there they would make it out too. It became a comfort to worn out soldiers and war torn areas. Kilroy was a hope, a friendly face to all sides.
This wave of art was caused by a few humans painting their mechsuits soon getting their alien friends to try it too. It only took a spark to engite a flame of art. Black and grays weren't the only colors of war then, a rainbow of fury painted, graffitied art and words would join the fight along these soldiers. Combative arts, a term many know and pratice now. All thanks to some bored human soldiers and some creative minds it spread. A wonder of the universe.
