Perhaps some of you have seen the pencil version of this comic underneath my Scraps tab. I didn't initially plan to ink and color it; it was supposed to be just a dumb, silly me-derping-around comic. However, I later thought of more "Poké-Eds" stuff, which made me change my mind.

Introducing my Ed, Edd n' Eddy Pokémon AU! This is sort of an introductory comic, showing them all adjusting and adapting to their new forms. It's all meta, of course; in this AU, they were born, or should I say hatched, Pokémon.

Most of my form choices are fairly obvious, for instance, Ed is a Munchlax because both he and it are obsessed with eating, Edd/Double D is a Minccino because it's a tidy Pokémon, and he's a neat freak, Eddy is a Purrloin because it's a shifty, conniving thief, perfect for a money swindler (I suppose a Meowth or a Nickit could also work, but whatever), Jonny is a Timburr with Plank as the block of wood the species carries around, you name it.

Other choices may not be so obvious, such as Rolf's and Kevin's forms. I chose a Cacnea for Rolf because its evolved form resembles an object associable with rural life. As for Kevin, well, I was a little biased in making him a Pawniard, since, if you've seen my previous works, it's pretty obvious I have a thing for Pawniards. My justification is:

1. There are biker Trainers in the games who have Pawniards. Like, if you scout Route 9 in Black and White, you'll find some.

2. Being a Pawniard gives the Eds an extra reason to be afraid of him. Who wouldn't be afraid of something covered with razor-sharp knives? Plus, according to the Poké-Dex, Pawniards are predators. Mmm-mmm, roasted dork!

3. He's now a literal son of a Bisharp.

Since Ed and Sarah are brother and sister, I suppose it would be logical to make them the same species. However, I don't think being a Munchlax suits Sarah the way it does Ed. I wanted to make her a Glameow, since it seems like a "bratty" Pokémon (By the way, I probably won't have Ed constantly sneeze around cat or rabbit Pokémon, sentient ones at least, in the future; like I said, this is all meta). I figure I can bend Pokémon logic here and there, heck, it's Ed, Edd n' Eddy, the show where the main characters freaking took apart reality! In this universe, Ed and Sarah's mother is a Purugly and their father a Snorlax. I looked it up, and it turns out those two 'Mons aren't in compatible Egg groups. Maybe in this universe, 'Mons in different Egg groups CAN breed, it's just, instead of the offspring always being the mother's species, the offspring can be either the mother's or the father's species.

It's probably a little hard to tell what Nazz is supposed to be. She's a Kirlia. I swapped the green top for yellow to keep her blonde. I also realized a little too late this isn't what Kirlia's "hair" is supposed to look like. It DOES resemble her hairstyle more, though.

Some of you may ask what Jimmy and the Kankers look like in this universe. I won't give Jimmy's form away just yet, since he appears in a comic I've not posted yet. As for the Kankers, well, let me start by saying them being half-sisters gives me leeway to make them all different species. Their "mother" is a Ditto and their fathers their final evolved forms.

Let's start with Lee. As we all know, her hair covers her eyes, and when it comes to Pokémon whose hair covers their eyes, first thing to come to mind is Deino. I have a little system, however: if the Pokémon has a three-stage evolutionary line, I make them the basic form if they're a child, as in, pre-puberty, the first stage if they're an adolescent, and the second stage if they're an adult. Lee is obviously a teenager, so rather than the basic Deino, I decided to make her its first evolution, Zweilous! Its hair still covers its eyes. Two-headed Lee. Poor Eddy.

Now onto Marie. She's kind of a goth, so I decided to make her an "edgy" Pokémon. Right now, my first choice is Drizzile, in part because its blue color sort of fits with her blue hair. If you have any better ideas, feel free to share them.

Last but not least, May. I didn't have many ideas for her. Right now, my first choice is Slowpoke. If you have any ideas, feel free to share them.
