I was telling some friends recently about this place that sounds like something out of a video game. I was hunting for trilobites in the Trilobite Wilderness in the Marble Mountains near Amboy, CA. The genus of trilobites found in the Lower Cambrian Latham Shale of this area is called Olenellids.

I love going there! I enjoy going fossil hunting a lot, and that is a easy local place to get some nice pieces

Trilobites are my favorite fossils! I'd never heard of the place but now that I have I got to go, CA here I come. XD
My aunt brought me two ammonite fossils when she was studying geology, cute little sluggies (^_^ )

My friend does paleontology research on trilobites. He calls them trilobits and trilobutts.
<3 fossles and <3 meteroite hunting, I'd choose beach combing over playing xbox any day but trapped in the subburbs :(

Oh man! Trilobites are great. Too bad they're not all that plentiful here in the Ohio River Vally (Louisville, KY). I'm quite the fossil/ rock hound as well <3
Oooh I will have to get that location from you if I ever make it out to CA - there are a ton of fossils here in TX btw - if you ever want to go hunting here, or in OK we know of a few spots...
Awesome, I fossil hunt, too! I have a pretty big collection, though I don't get a chance to look through Lower Cambrian stuff much... I went last spring to Kentucky and Ohio and was sort of successful. I found one tiny trilobite that was rolled up, a little smaller than a dime.

Actually, when you get to be the age of any of those trilobites I do not believe that your gender will matter very much. The same thing applies when we see your art.

Got a place near here that Spenser_b and I went to. We dug out half of a HUUUUUUUGGGE ammonite fossil. I gots a peice and he has a peice. And we got tons of other shtuffs too. You can find fossils all over our area cause we live in what used to be the Permian Sea
By the way.... this is a very good photo. Very crisp and clear. I like it.
