The sands of Elsea are a cruel, unforgiving place, constant earthquakes could be simple as that... Or they could be large sandworms.
The rickety cart meandered along the path, pulled in it's lopsided grace by one of the many elder lizardriders of the capital. Adjusting his hood, he'd look out along the landscape, much of it obscured by the blinding sun and ever shifting dunes. "How much longer will we travel before stopping for the evening?" He'd call, graced with an uneasy look from the Mau directing the reptile. "I can't be quite sure, Kaul. Your aunt left us specific instructions on where to get to, and any stops may that may inhibit the journey could cause complications.. As a noble with marginally more experience riding than you, it still behooves my why just the two of us are headed out northbound."
"I... See... Thank you, Valentine." Another clunk of the cart's shabby wheels irked the male. "Why all this secrecy? What's even it for? I've many an answers waiting for me ahead, but they feel so far out of grasp.."
The Feline shrugged. "Well, I couldn't be one to guess, but--"
Another earthquake would begin, Rousing the running Lizards into an uncontrollable frenzy as suddenly the sand before them detonated, sand raining from the sky as the abomination ahead of them knocked the pair from their mounts.
Picking themselves up, Valentine would raise his claws, conjuring two disks of hardened sand into his hands. "Seems like there's some complications, after all.."
....
A half hour later, and the two had distanced themselves from the beast using diversionary tactics, using Valentines hardened sand to make a quick escape on the shifting dunes, and to dull the senses of the beast. "Alright then."
