I'm surprised you didn't incorporate Maurice in Sonic's name, considering that was used in the old Archie Sonic Comics.
Maurice is his middle name. First name of Ogilvy.

Man, with a first name like that, it'd be no wonder why Sonic would change his name! At the time and to this day I still never could figure out why he was so embarrassed with Maurice when Ogilvy sounds a lot much worse. :/
Damn fucking straight! It's all thanks to that miserable fucker Penders that the Archie Sonic brand went to shit after the Endangered Species arc along with the shitty reboot series! Hell, chances are if he hadn't back stabbed Archie, the original story would still be going on to this day and if what the rumors saying about the series ending at 300 issues was true, we could've actually had the best damn ending to the best longest running comic series in the 24 years prior to it's cancellation!

I've honestly considered the rings to be like power sources. Like, they power everything within a certain distance of them, thus why they get scattered around a stage or whatever.

I kinda love that you went with making him kinda resemble the Movie version. In the face at least.
I kind of chortle a little when I see Sonic wear pants, I hope that spandex is also some kind of frictionless super material because I can see the crotch of that thing bursting into flame like 2 sticks being rubbed together
It must be extremely frustrating for Robotnik to suffer so many losses to a bright-eyed baby face like that.
