Decided it’s high time for me to craft a updated Kimahri Ronso (from Play Station 2 video game) custom. I think the last one I did was 7 years ago, and with air dry clay. So since I’ve ditched that flimsy clay, I wanted to try him with leather craft.
Pony base is engineered from 2 g1 ponies- body of a deflocked North Star, head and paws are severed from a Kingsley lion. I used Kingsley’s body on that ButtTrump pony, and Northstar’s hooves on that ButtTrump as well. xDD
(Had to do SOMEthing with those, right?)
ANYWAYS, cut a hole in the forehead of the kittyhead and fastened a giant generation 4 princess horn that I severed shortly and capped the hole tip with a circle of leather. Eyebrows are leather.
Tail is cut and stitched thick leather.
Mane and tail tip are rooted in nylon mlp dollyhair in the colors of arctic frost, blended moonlight and daiquiri ice, Restoredoll hair katsilk medium gray, and RetrodollUS neutral dark blue monofiber. His beard and some of his hair is styled in hair gel method.
Braids down the sides with strips of red lather tied in. Stitched his ponytail holder from red bias tape lined with faux gold vinyl.
Full body repaint in custom hand blended acrylics. Eyes/face also painted in acrylics, all paint work sealed in artists varnish. Tufts of dyed powder blue faux fur added on the tail, chest and tips of ears. Metal hoop layered earrings added on left ear, painted some tear-shaped rhinestones black for the claws on his paws.
Wings are severed from a 6 inch generation 4 doodle pony, and have feathers and mohair layered over top.
Attire-armor: cut all the black armor pieces from black faux vinyl, lined them in gold acrylic detail. Teal flap under tail is bias tape with careful hand painted detail. Stitched cream fabric on all 4 legs, detailed in strips of black faux vinyl.
Blue dyed leather is wrapped around the torso, and is used for the gauntlets- both pieces lined in silver acrylic paint detail. Gauntlets have 4 strips of silver chain stitched on each.
Silver metal hoop details added on shoulders with thin black strips of velvet fringe going in 4 directions. 2 strips of thick black leather adorn across the chest under the chest fur.
2 skull crest details- gold one on chest is painted and detailed in vinyl, the silver one in center of back/wings is painted but detailed in silver wire trim.
Took a long dyed red thick leather strip, cut it in 3 pieces then braided it for the red rope detail above the tail.
Lance- started with a wooden dowel, wired arrow head and bone beads to the bottom and painted them gold. Spear head is 2 layers of faux gold vinyl with a thick piece of leather sandwiched together. Silver acrylic paint detail, then various rhinestones finish the spear head.
Wrapped some brown thread around the staff after painting it brown.
Feathers are white feather tips I painted periwinkle blue and cream acrylics.
A thin strip of real beaver fur lines the top of the feathers, and a piece of flat gold wire holds everything in place. Tied a brown hemp cord with 3 beads on each side to finish the fur/feather details.
