The accessories-only look is great here. Reminds me of Donkey Kong and classic Hanna-Barbera.
Come to think of it, Magilla Gorilla looks a lot like Donkey Kong Country's version of DK.... coincidence, or do you think Rare took some "inspiration" from reruns of old Hanna-Barbera cartoons?
Could be. Of course, HB only put the tie on their characters to cheat at neck animation without it looking weird, so anybody who borrowed the design for aesthetic reasons would be the first.
