A very basic colorization of a sketch I did a while ago of my new character, Cyrus Filton. This was colorized as a reference for an upcoming commission featuring him.
Character Bio:
Cyrus Darryl Filton was born on August 3, 1988, in Fort Riley, Kansas, to Dan and Linda Filton. The second of three sons born, Cyrus has an older brother, Darryl Cyrus Filton (1986-), and a younger brother, Edmond "Ed" Donald Filton (1990-). He is of Anglo-Irish-Norwegian descent. Cyrus spent the first four years of his life growing up in Kansas, where his father was stationed at in the US Army. Having been honorably discharged from the Army in 1992, the Filtons returned back to their hometown of Hanover, where Cyrus and his brothers grew up at. He later became noted for his talents in wrestling, and won the state championship for Licking Valley High School, in 2005. He graduated in 2006, and went to engineering school.
At the age of 21, Cyrus came out to his family as being openly gay. His parents did not immediately accept the news warmly, and their relationship became estranged for almost a decade. He left the family landscaping business and went to work for ODOT (Ohio Department of Transportation), moving to Dayton to work at their ODOT branch. He worked for ODOT for almost eight years, in infrastructure repair. After reconciling with his parents and them accepting his sexual orientation, Cyrus returned at age 29 to Hanover, to resume working with the family landscaping business.
His return unfortunately accelerated the deep divide and feuding between his father Dan, brother Darryl, and their uncle, Ronnie Filton, which had worsened after the death of his grandfather, the family patriarch, Gary Filton (1927-2015). As a result, the Filton Landscaping Company was torn apart into two companies; Filton's Finest Landscaping (Cyrus, Dan, Ed), and Filton Lanscaping (Darryl, Ronnie and his kids). He took over the company completely after his father semi-retired after back surgery.
His boyfriend is fellow Hanover native, 19 year old Ben Reynolds, a young husky who he met at a sex party in the spring. He resides in a restored country home that sits off into the woods.
Cy's trademarks are his tattoo sleeves and chest piece, and his long red hair, braided up Viking style~
