More art, more characters, and a bit of a look into my world-building now that I'm doing my own thing.
Simply put, the retro robot dragons in my world-building also come in a range of generations, with each having upgrades or other improvements to the previous generation - this lad here shows off what a first generation retro robot dragon would look like in some ways - more "industrial" looking than newer generations like my other characters are, who are second or third generation. I'll likely release more of my writing on this at some point in the future, just needs some good pieces to go with it. Additionally for the curious, "Retragon" is simply the in-universe nickname for my retro robotic dragon characters, while simultaneously being the name of the overseeing manufacturer of early generation models, hence the logo in the top left.
As for the art piece I had a lot of fun designing this character - who, of course, I don't have a name for (I'm pretty bad at that, have to decide what the character is for first before I come up with names). Went for a more retro-computer aesthetic and that boxy 80s sci-fi look I can never get enough of. Shading-wise some experimenting with additional layers of cell shading on top of what I normally do to add some depth, which I think is quite nice.
Overall, a smaller piece, but more is coming (soon).

I'm glad that one of the priorities for this robo derg is to have a boopable snout!
I think that's just a side effect of the aesthetic I like for my characters at this point pfft.
I really love this blocky retro design, the tubes add a lot. And the eye[?] yellow LEDs are awesome too
Glad you like his design~ Also I agree on the tubes they added a lot when I drew them.
The yellow lights are just status indicators actually haha.

I'm doing something similar with Crom's lore ^^
With him being over 250 years old he originated with some of the very first Synths in their universe and slowly upgraded to his current state.
I kinda see it like being The Doctor and 'regenerating' with a new form every 40-50 years or so

It's cool you're doing your own thing with your Synth character but I'm not sure why you're mentioning this on a piece that's clearly not Synth related while also not even talking about the very piece you're commenting on - the character above is my own design, from my own world-building, and has nothing to do with Synths.
There's no "Synth" tag nor a single mention of them, and from my description it's pretty obvious it's not related to Synths, so were are these presumptions coming from?
