“It’s so kind of you to want to get a closer look.” The cat mused, a coy expression narrowing their lofty gaze. “And at a size I can see, too.”
A shift of the paw beneath him, the rubber grinding that followed suit echoing all around, left the small creature for want of words or even thoughts. Every crease in the towering footwear--every step of which having left an impression in his library of remembered sounds that would last forever--was more than a handhold; it was a plateau. It would take tens of minutes just to reach the top.
And then there was the matter of the rest of the feline. The very feline whose stature summoned intense vertigo, and whose violet eyes were set upon the infinitesimal wolf with a playful curiosity. Expectation. Adoration, and then some.
“Better get started,” they teased. “Take too long and I may just lose track of you.”
