It"s pretty common, when peeps are out on deployment, to get photos taken. Hell, I don"t think there"s a single soldier out there who"s ever not been in a photo.
What you don"t see very often is someone posing with their fursona
Goddamn, I forgot how hard humans are to draw when you"re out of practice on them

The fursona's smile, expression is awesome!

m4 carbine and fn mini-mi also known as the fn saw but nice pic
m249 is little. m240 is the big one. 5.56 vs 7.62.
.....my gun geek is showing, sorry.
.....my gun geek is showing, sorry.
That's because they're both made by the same company, but the M240 is the scaled up 7.62 version.
Funny thing was, it was a competitor to the M60 during the original medium machine gun contracting with the US Army... the Army chose to go with the M60 instead... and now they've changed their mind decades later.
Pardon my gun geekery.

Oh, I know all of this stuff already. I'm a machine gunner. I was just remarking on it. Maybe it's the coloring?
..only the AK47 variants and the Bushmaster ACR(in that setup) use the 7.62x39 round..
I hope he's not planning to fire that while standing. Outside of prone an M240 is likely to put a major hurt on your shoulder! XD
well, you can see he is friggin huge compared to the human. I figure it is just about the right size for him.
You're probably right. Still a beast to carry though. I feel sorry for the poor suckers that have to face him. >:3
This looks awesome, very nicely done. I don't know why, but the human reminds me alot of Spider Jerusalem from the Transmetropolitan comics. Probably that grin, and the glasses.
naw, that thing looks like a Glock, most likely .40cal
dam this is mostly plastic, I don't care for them myself. I'll stick to my Colt Combat Commander

With butt safety? Although it did look like a Glock to me at first, also don't prefer them.
Will stick to my S&W.

NOT TRUE. Glocks can be made of anything from metal, ceramic, composites, you name it.
.40cal lolwut, as for colts, OH HAIL THE KING OF FEEDWAY STOPPAGES. Unless you have a decent one, that is.

I've never held a .45acp that HAD trouble with feed, fire, or ejection
oh, and yes... I have a decent 1991a1 http://www.furaffinity.net/view/2179904

trolling for glocks?
na, I won't tempt you.
as long as you can hit your targets, I won't quibble

Looks more like a Springfield XD, there's no swell on the front strap of a 1911.
its a glock with an aimpoint T-1. While our favorite tiger makes epic weapons, he is a bit short on modern weapon detail.
Ah Stray was right on the first guess.
Detail is still great on the weapons, can't complain, though us gun nerds are gonna try and pick at it haha

SILLY YOU
YOU CAN'T MOUNT AN AIMPOINT TI ON A GLOCK. THAT PUTS THE DICK IN RIDICKUL- RIDICULOUS. (Freudian slip perhaps?)
ELCAN sight on that thing also looks like it's been shot with a shrink ray. Inversely, the handguard on it seems to have swallowed up all the size-ness, thus expanding and becoming much. thicker.
HK416 is missing front leaf sight, magazine is wayyy-off, no parting between lower and upper recievers. Won't blame you on the angle of the mag itself, as it is a BITCH to get right by any standard. However the thing itself looks like it can shoot 40mm grenades.
Also, whats with the vests - not the OTV for sure, and the off-color ACU? The vest certainly could be given a little more bulk.
(Minor-quibbling facts guntard bitching end)
Inversely, the PMAG's with the fastmag holders on the guy's vest are excellently done. Remember they also come in other colors. As for the size comparison between the two, simply looks like one is standing behind the other.
Also, holy shit, send me to the church they go, I'm a believer now oh lawwwd-
ANYWHO FURFAGS CEPT FOR FEW KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT GUNS ON THE POSTS BELOW BAWWW.
Nice work as always but I don't need to say that.

you can too mount an aimpoint on a glock! aimpoint makes the mount. I asked him to make all the weapons specific....I was issued an M240, the rifle is an KAC SR-15, (front sight folds flush) and I carry glock 22s, one with a T-1 on it. I think he followed the references pretty damn well.
But yeah, he did awesome work on the PMags.

cos he looks -very- unbalanced.
I dunno maybe the feet even it out on something but wow.

Heh, at first I was going to ask who the human was and comment on what a good job you did. Reading the description... heh, that is awesome.
He probably shouldn't wear his fursuit while on duty!
Kidding. Cool idea, nicely drawn.

Nice work! It is good to see so much new art from you. You seemed to be stuck in a bit of a rut for awhile back there :O
This is really cool. I was going to say, I love their identical grins (which I still do), but after reading the description, it's to be expected since they're the same person. XD
is that supposed to be a maxxpro or an RG in the picture? just curious as i run dismount in the latter
Heheh nice, they look like a kid on christmas with new awesome toys.
"Hey Priest I wonder if these things can take out that bird that's perched two miles that way"

"son of a bitch....."

Hmmm, would the law about occupying the same space as a copy of yourself would apply here...?
Woof! Nicely done and well played! And the expression on his fursona's face is pretty epic and made of win, too! :*)~
awesome gun.
great job on this Strype.
keep it up

Yay Furry Soldiers!! I have a week left in Iraq myself. Woot Woot!!
better work on humans more stryp. you never know who will ask you to draw a human with a furry
I kinda wish i could get a group photo of me with all my imaginary selves, or even one of them!
Awesome idea, and awesome implementation.

You're very good with guns! Made me think of Battlefield Bad Company 2 XP
sometimes the only way to protect the flock is to kill the wolves - Patriot (the movie)
what better way to spread God's message, than with bullets XD
Hehe, you got the new truck in the background too.
I been inside that bitch yesterday, kinda cramped inside :/

Gives "Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition!" a weightier meaning! GREAT shit-eating smiles. And finely realistic gear and weaponry, as always.
if I didn't know any better, I'd say that M240 is wearing a red-dot magnifier without a red-dot scope.
This is quite win on multiple occasions... been awhile since I've had something stand out that hard to me
Posing with one's fursona! Now that's a rare sight!
And just noting this: Two submissions in two consecutive days!

Wow, that's pretty damn slick. I've never seen that before, though, a drawn depiction of a furry and their player. That's a really neat concept. And of course, the art itself is fan-flippin'-tastic.
Surprised no one has made a "sharing a fox hole" joke yet....
Awesome art, love the concept.

Oh niceness, they both look awesome with those smiles
A Furry fan pictured side by side with their fursona. FurAffinity is now going to need a lot more art like that all of a sudden.
One is a kick-ass Priest, the other is a bad-ass Mormon, together, they fight terrorists!
Oh yeah.. took quite a few pics when i did my military service in Finland. Great pic this one, A guy and his alterego.
You done good, Strype. The proportions of a human face are so... delicate that getting one out of whack messes everything up. I like their shit eatin' grins the best.
I would like a... Bite of Priest... >w>; (*waits for someone to get the reference*) And I should totally commission you one of these days... Just because you're so awesome. lol
furs in the armed forces make some sweet pics. but the best part about this are the keywords. i don't hate them.
I love it! I can sense the camaraderie between these two, like they'd defend each other tooth and claw during a fight. Excellent work!

Too add my comment to everyone else's, FREAKING EPIC!!! ^__^ I always do love your style.
Pretty slick stuff here. Personally, I really like the shades of both of them. And, for being out of practice, I still think you did the guy pretty well. I also really like how you really limited the contrast of the background elements to really bring out the guys in the foreground, whom have some really nice detail (and an absolutely wicked grin). Those are also some of the best looking guns I've seen around here, even if I am a bigger fan of sniper rifles. And that vehicle...if I didn't know better, I'd say it was a picture you used an artistic filter in photoshop. You didn't, of course, but it looks good enough to look it.
Your accuracy on the M240B is crazy. Love that weapon. Once you get the hang of its ROF, talking M240B's can sound beastly.
Wow you even got in all the screws and the handle placement... Bravo
Wow you even got in all the screws and the handle placement... Bravo
You draw human s as the same good as all whatever, you are a really master in visual art .
m249 and m4a1 and .... YATATATATATATATATATTA boom boom head shoot ! :D ^^ nice picture: D
these guys marines? i cant really tell but the MARPAT pattern on their vests leads me to believe so.
AWESOME! A Battle-priest! Why can't the military be this awesome!
And on the eighth day, God sayeth, 'EAT LEAD, SUCKAS!'
And on the eighth day, God sayeth, 'EAT LEAD, SUCKAS!'
Oh, and great job on the dude on the right. People are hard to draw. Seriously. I've been trying to get proper facial structure for four years! I guess people on FA just find Furries Easier.
I don't even know how they find furries easier to draw, seems harder then humans for me.
Ah, therein lies the problem. Human beings generally have a conformity in the facial structure. Something has to be a general way, like the positioning of the eyes, ears; the scalp height, nose curvature...
With anthros, the process is easier since there isn't a real-life equivalent to base it on. So, this means that whatever you decide to do to your character, it's basically OK to do anything.

Really beautiful job here. You do anthros and humans very well!
