"The easiest way to social distance is to put 255 galaxies and 18 quintillion planets between you and everyone else"
No Shark's Sky is still one of my favourite pics to date; which is to say it's one of the handful of pics I've done I don't retroactively despise... but it's also a really old picture now. Like the pic, I still enjoy the game it was based on and regularly play, so it felt like revisiting the theme was in order.
Was trying a few new things with this pic in terms of techniques, composition, and trying to deliberately keep things loose instead of going overboard on fine detail. I think it came out ok...

I think it came out perfect! My words and terminology won't be correct...but the blurring and diffusing between borders and strokes really brings life to this image as a memory, instead of ..a photohgraph. Either way..it's very well done.
Of course it's no shark's sky. Sharks live in the sea, not the sky. :3
What if that shark has aspirations to leave the sea and explore? Should they give up their dreams? ;p
I'm always torn. I *love* cutesy artists, but my line and rendering style naturally leans more gritty, so I'd been trying to do more cartoony. But I'm wondering if the two aren't incompatible afterall :p
We need more aliens in No Man's Sky O-O
Maybe we need only Spore 2 o,o'

Yeah I'm kind of sad you just have the 3 races scattered pretty evenly across the cosmos. No regions dominated by one empire, no active conflicts. No procedurally generated races.
I get why narratively but seems like it'd added a bunch of flavour.

The design of that ship and the desert landscape is giving me some Oblivion vibes. Very well done.
It's funny how many people say that, there is definitly some Oblivion DNA in both the explorer class ship designs in NMS, as well as tech tied to the Atlas (Which has that monolithic feel like the mothership in oblivion)
Dammmn, this looks wonderful. The details on the mini-spaceship are amazing!
