I want to start things off by saying that I"m not a big fan of reboots and remakes. Some are good, some are terrible, and most are not necessary. But I will say that Disney"s DuckTales (2017) really sold me since the beginning. As the show has now come to a close, I can imagine some of you asking, "what"s next"? What Disney Afternoon show will get the remake treatment. There have been rumors that Darkwing Duck will be made into a CGI film and will be produced by Seth Rogen..... interesting! If you already guessed, the show that I grew up watching was TaleSpin. I was really excited to see the characters return in the Ducktales reboot. After watching the season 3 episode "The Lost Cargo of Kit Cloudkicker", I was mixed. I"m grateful to see Kit, Molly, Don Karnage, and Cape Souzette again, but I wasn"t completely satisfied. If you like to see my full thoughts on this episode, check out this site: https://www.deviantart.com/bullz3/j.....cker-873691423
However, I didn"t knock the ideal of a potential return of the Hire for Higher crew. So, I wanted to have some fun and pitch an ideal for a sequel of TaleSpin that takes place after the episode of DuckTales. I wanted the visual to look close to the DuckTales remaake but keep the essence of the 1990 series. Also since, the original is inspired by post World War II (40"s to 50"s), I wanted this series to be inspired by the 70"s and 80"s. Cape Suzette has bit more of modern yet retro/futuristic feel too.
STORY
SPOILER: In the end of the "Lost Cargo of Kit Cloudkicker", Kit loses the Sea Duck do to not making his payments on time. However, Molly ends up being the one purchasing the plane. Kit is unemployed while Molly is a successful stuntwoman. Molly offers Kit aa position to perform his cloud surfing tricks at her show, which Kit accepts.
Kicking off the new series, "TaleSpin: Spinning Adventures", Kit now works with Molly who is running her Danger Woman Death Defying Sky Circus. Kit performance name is "Captain Cloudkicker". Kit Cloudkicker has a bit more confidence and charm compared to his DuckTales debut. He"s witty, humorous, and bit dorky like Starlord, but he"s adventurous, clever, and cool headed like Spike Spiegel. Molly has a more of a Type A personality. She focused, fiery, and stubborn like her mom. But unlike her, Molly has the heart and. theatrics of a death defying stunt person. Think of her like Kim Possible if she owned a circus. Kit and Molly also have more of a sibling bond.
Kit is grateful to perform his sky surfacing tricks and Molly with her circus. Deep down, he misses adventuring the globe like the good old days. Everything changes, Kit gets his chance when he travel around the world promoting the circus and performing. At the start of their new adventures, Kit and Molly recruits new characters and develop their new Cape Suzette team. Just like the original series, they will see new place, get into dangerous situations, make foes and enemies, discover strange phenomenas, weird magic, and a little partying at Louies.
CHARACTERS
The first member on the Cape Suzette team is Aisha the Leopard (front left). Aisha is a maiden from a hidden West African city (similar to Wakanda) called Cam Ufla. She is one of the twelve women to be a bride for the arrogant warlord. Aisha, however wants to escape this force marriage and pursue her passion as a chemist. She has act in creating sleeping powders, multiplying jumping beans, and sllime bombs. She escapes back with Kit and now lives in Cape Suzette. She acts as the sweet nerd and potential love interest to Kit. She"s a mix of Webby and Fenton from DuckTales.
The third member is a little robber girl named Nife (knife) the bearded dragon (front-center). A supposed orphan from Egypt, she has one goal; to steal a rare yet powerful herb to give to her idol, Lord Klang. Her weapon of choice is her small blade called the "dagger of Ra". She starts off as the lone-wolf assassin trusting no one. But she later accepts the team as a new family. Kit especially reluctantly becomes mentor to Nife just like how Baloo was to him. Her personality is similar to Toph and Wolf from Kipo.
The fourth member of the team is the net slinging, Dougray Max Cazawary (back right). Dougray is in an Australian cassowary and half emu. In his past, he used to be part of a notorious gang called the Birds of Prey, who were trappers. However, when the group changed to becoming poachers/hunters, Dougray left and became a bounty hunter in America. After meeting the gang, he becomes the groups driver wielding his lasso. His personality is a mix of Crocodile Dundee"s (70"s) wild instincts, Jet"s Black big brother wisdom, and Rocket Raccoon"s twisted sense of humor.
Because I wanted to more characters from the OG series, I added Wild Cat (back-left). Wild Cat is still working as a mechanic, building his shop and helping Molly"s Circus. He"s not the smartest tool in the shed and can relate to Aisha for causing a lot of explosions. But he serves as a grandfather figure for the main cast with a hint of wisdom.
I f you can spot him, I added in Papa Bear himself, Baloo. In the Ducktales episode, they haven"t stated if he passed away or retired. I know that he was the protagonist of TaleSpin and Kit"s adopted father, so I had to include him into the new series. He"s alive but I wasn"t sure if I want him to retire on a remote island or get lost in another dimension. He will make an appearance later in the series. Becky will also make some appearances. I imagine her starting a new business in the Arctic thats similar to Hire for Higher. I also have Baloo and Becky married and then divorced. It would also be nice to see her relationship with Molly since she also has her own business.
The last character you see whose in the clouds is the antagonist. Since the first villain was Shere Khan, this series villain is his young daughter, Shere Ranee. Like her father, she"s a ruthless tycoon of Khan Industries who wants take over (Lex Luthor style). She"s a different kind of antagonist. She never steals since she knows she has the confidence of winning. If you try to trick her, compete against her, or underestimate her, you will feel the tigresses wrath. She maybe cold but she"s very elegant, influential, and a bit fair for her age. Her personality is like Kuvira, Satsuki (Kill La Kill), and The Adjudicator from John Wick.
Other characters include the swash-buckling villain, Don Karnage, his ex crew mate, Dumptruck, The Thembrian Air Force, Airplane Jane, and possibly, Louie (legal reasons). I want to include new characters such as the panther captain of the Cape Suzette Air Police, Captain Seonil; Bean a millennial bandar log and the new owner of Louies Place, and more.
IN CONCLUSION
Overall, TaleSpin: Spinning Adventures will be a faithful continuation and love letter to the 1990 series while also adding in some new elements. It will comedy and thrills of Guardian of the Galaxy and Cowboy Bebop (for kids) but without space travel; the adventure and wonderment of Indiana Jones and the Avatar series. But overall, it will embody the heart and soul of TaleSpin.

It was fun working on this. It would be interesting to see a continuation.
I had a theory that the Don Karnage we've seen on DT is the son of the original Karnage due to the fact that he looks pretty young.
