A painted scene commission for kinubaru!
This is by far the most detailed commission I’ve ever done :). It took somewhere between 35 and 40 hours to make (over the course of 8 days)

I have some experience with drawing backgrounds but not on this scale. The final drawing had more than 400 photoshop layers @-@.

The piece was inspired by Japanese buildings (and culture) and sci-fi. I’ve always really liked illustrations with that kind of aesthetic, so I was excited to work on this piece :D.

The sign above the door says ‘fishery’ and the one next to it ‘open for business. I hope they are correct, I don't speak Japanese so I’m not 100% sure 😅.
