Personality: Doctor Recluse is a man driven by one thing: Science. He seeks to investigate and understand all aspects of the cosmos bit by bit through the power of Mad Science, which gives him a more unique view of existence. Because of how the study of it has warped his mind, he has little to no compunction about the wellbeing of those affected by his tests, and few morals about who he experiments on. He can become utterly passionate in his work, one of the very small list of things that can get him truly excited is when he is working, and not even the destruction of his creations can enrage him since he can simply build upon what he learned from the failure.

Indeed, one of the few things that can genuinely enrage him is the endangering of his usual companion Road Hog's life. At that point he will throw caution and science to the wind and go on a warpath to save and preserve the boar's life. Doctor Recluse values Road Hog greatly, as not only does he have genuine interest in the Mad Scientist's work, but also socializes and pushes him outside his comfort zone in general. In all, Doctor Recluse is a professional scientist who will stand by the Scientific Method, ignore or laugh at any other laws of it as he sees fit, and keeps close those who truly appreciate his work.

Profile: Originally born somewhere along the Gulf Coast, Hiram Crawler had a lifelong interest in the sciences so he could learn just how the world worked and why it did. To that end he devoted his life to study, eventually earning a place in a top university via a grant. Following the path of theoretical physics, he also studied as much as he could about other fields to further his interests. However, this devotion would eventually drive him to be introduced to the mysteries of superpowers and the arcane, and his interest became a lust for knowledge. He began to trod paths not meant to be understood by normal science, until he was discovered himself by a Mad Scientist working in the university.

Hiram was inducted into the secrets of it, and became hooked on learning how malleable the laws he once thought immutable truly were. From there he finished university merely for the sake of officiality, and once he had his diploma he dived headlong into the study of Mad Science. He emerged from it a changed man, a master especially of robotics, cloning, and the study of the mysteries of superpowers and the supernatural. He set up shop in Sable City where the latter was known to be especially strong, and since then has become one of the most dangerous criminals operating there.

He has yet to be caught and brought to justice, as he primarily relies on swarms of drones to carry out his experiments, only going out in giant robots of his construction, and in power armor which has a built in emergency teleporation system. Add to that his working alongside with master getaway driver Road Hog, and the spider is someone to be reckoned with.

Weaknesses: Doctor Recluse's greatest weaknesses, aside from his being utterly mortal, are his pride in Mad Science and Road Hog. If his chosen line of study is insulted severely enough he will fly into a rage and target the one who made the remarks. The same goes for when Road Hog's life is in danger. Should it seem to him he's about to loose the one person who matters in his life, the doctor will devote all his resources to preventing this.
