“This whole ‘Christmas Holiday’ thing is very new to me, but thankfully my friends are helping me to understand it better.

Hula Girl invited us all to her island, and I was the first one to arrive, so we got started. First, we had to put on these strange floppy red hats, which are very soft, but Hula Girl says they are required because they are ‘festive’. Then we had to put strange vines with little glowing lights on them on a palm tree, which as fun,… her monkey Hangtime helped, but ended up getting all tangled up. As we were trying to untangle him our friends Tu Li and Adrian arrived, and since Tu Li is very tall, she said she would help him out, after we gave them both hats too.

Around that time my friend Carissa arrived, dressed in a really cute outfit, something she called a ‘rain-deer’, she said it had to do with the holiday, and she brought with her a large bag, from which she started drawing forth brightly colored and shiny boxes, ‘presents’. And before I knew it, she handed one to me.”

‘There you go, Merry Christmas Ember.’

‘Oh, thank you very much, Carissa, Merry Christmas to you too.’

‘You are most welcome, nyaa! But let’s wait till everyone is here and has a present before we open them, okay?’

‘Open them? Oh, um, sure, yeah we can wait, okay.’

“Open them,… I wonder what is inside,… Yeah, I can wait, no problem,…. Hmm,… this box has some weight to it,… it’s not really heavy, but not light either, I wonder what,… hmm,… what’s that about being tangled? And what is Adrian giggling about? Hmm,… I wonder what is in this,…”

*Shake, shake, shake*

‘Hey everyone! Sorry I’m late,… I brought drinks!’

As festive and adorable as this picture was original, it feels even more so now that it’s in color. The colors really bring such great life and warmth to the image, from the vibrant greens of Hula Girl and Ember’s leaves, to the blues of Lucia and Adrian’s hair, to the deep pink of Tu Li’s hair, to the blonde of Carissa’s hair, and the red of all their hats, as well as the tips of Ember’s hair, and Lucia’s festive new red and white holiday outfit, they all look so much more alive in color. The colors really bring out the background as well, accenting the sandy beach beneath them, and the brightness of the ‘Christmas’ Palm Tree, as it outshines the hazy moon seen in the sky behind it. A wonderful accent to an already lovely and cute holiday picture, thank you for bringing even more holiday cheer to this picture, Tony. :)
