The saurian peoples native to the continent of Aklu often have rather large plumage on their heads. Headwear worn by the various Akluan cultures tend to work around these feathers.

Akluans can have three types of natural featherstyles: Long, wide-splaying crest feathers; short, fluffy contour feathers; and natural baldness. Long crests are often styled by the headwear themselves. In general, male headwear tends to push the feathers together into a point, while female headwear tends to let them splay.

These hats are based off of traditional African hats and headpieces, though with the added incorporation of head feathers.
