This whole page makes me think the rabbit has some ulterior motive. His gaze on the third panel and asking Basil to top while he's usually bottom... Maybe I'm overthinking this, but I think he's trying to pull Basil out of his comfort zone.
The look Abe gives on panel 3 is completely meaningless and is an art flub on my behalf. He's not supposed to be looking directly into the camera, just absentmindedly looking off into the distance.
