Alice and Wendy get along rather swimmingly, despite being pretty much polar opposites in terms of temperament and their own aesthetic choices. Perhaps its that Wendy gets Alice to actually defrost around her- or, more likely, Wendy simply enjoys a mouse stepping on her, figuratively and not so figuratively.
When Alice made her the offer to be one of her little workers, Wendy was happy to accept. After all, it was only a temporary position. But, there were some modifications that had to be made to the skunk- such as what she wore, and the very fact Wendy is a skunk.
