For anyone who gets into this situation IRL (either on the reindeer's or Santa's), pouring water on the surface is the way to go. Just don't make it too hot, else it could either burn the tongue or shatter the surface (if it's vulnerable to breakage due to rapid temperature changes, like glass).
"How cold was it this morning? Cold enough to freeze a reindeer's tongue!"
I was never dumb enough to want to emulate A Christmas Story, but the first winter I experienced below zero temperatures I licked the tip of my wool glove and touched a metal pole. Stuck like a charm. 83
I have worked around aircraft and equipment when it was just cold enough that your gloves if wet would stick them.
This is why you wash and give your plane a couple of coats of wax about the time the inclement weather comes.

Awww he just wanted to catch a snowflake on his tongue and got too near to the plane ;p
