The Magpies are the priests of the main kingdom in the birds at arms world. They use the minerals in their staves, commonly known as blue, to perform magic. As the blue is eventually exhausted, new blue must be mined to replenish their power. While they are the religious leaders and lore keepers of the main kingdom, little is known about the inner most workings of the Magpies and their magic. They worship Ethos and Lumire, the two deities that created the world on which the birds reside.

There are rumors that the Magpies have been working on a mysterious project for generations, but any sensible bird knows this is just a conspiracy theory to discredit the church. If you know of any birds spreading such rumors, please report them to your local Magpie priest the next time you attend services.
