Shato


In a forest of oak and pine
Lives a large canine
A creature left over from an ancient time

A large beast with fur of pure white
Chrome blue eyes that glow in the night
A gentle soul with no plight

And under a large oak it waits
Saving lost travelers from fates
It lives in the northeastern United States

The creature’s name is Shato
Shato of Shadow
From the hill she watches the tranquil lake below

A wolf with no pack
Trust her she’ll watch your back
And will not slack

A gentle soul
Upon which time has taken its toll
Abandoned and left with no role

And fish is all she eat
Never land meat
She’ll give you a friendly greet

“Salutations” is her way of saying hi
Chew toys is how one says goodbye
Giving her one will make her cry

She gives motherly love
And peaceful like a dove
Some call her an angel from above
