He is ageless. Timeless. If he ever had a life before the underground, he does not speak of it, or perhaps does not remember. The darkness is his home. He knows every cavern and crystal, and loves them, and hears their whispered secrets, and as far as he is concerned it has always been so. A handful of soil contains all the wonder and wisdom in the world to him; if only the surface-dwellers could understand its language as well.
The name he assigns himself is Silar- though he maintains that his true name is one that only the earth can pronounce.
To some he may appear a monster: the great leathery wings, tattered over countless years; the multiple coiling reptilian tails; the shaggy mane reminiscent of a lion's; the draconic head with its two patches of scar tissue where eyes might have once been. His speech is cryptic, peppered with strange syllables from no known Subetian tongue. Is he otherworldly? Or simply mad? What does he see, despite his blindness and living in shadows, that we do not?
