(Forgetting You, Forgetting Myself)
Everyone had returned home after paintball to shower, change and rest before a night out. Felix and Blizz were waiting outside for everyone else, yawning. Felix smirked. "So, where's otter-boy?" He shrugged. "He said he'd be a minute..." Sarth and Lili came down too, sitting on the small brick wall overlooking the water, where Felix and Blizzard soon joined them. Riley was sitting on the roof, throwing photos and letters one by one into the air. Desmond had just told him he had decided it would be better if they didn't talk. Ever.
He eventually came down to the water once he felt okay, leaving the rest of the photos and things in his bag. He sat next to Blizz, sniffling. "You okay Riles...?" Before the sentance could finish, Riley had buried his face in Blizz's shoulder, sobbing softly. "What happened?" he said, picking him up and carrying him off so they could talk privately. "D-desmond...told me not to talk to him again...because he was done with me...and wanted to stay that way."
Blizzard sighed and rubbed his back. "It's alright, bud...you got me..." Riley smiled at that, hugging him. "Yup...your all I need, anyway." They went back after Riley had calmed down and watched the moon, all chatting quietly to each other. Riley smiled a little and enjoyed the rest of the night, then retired to his flat with Blizz. They snuggled up and fell asleep.
The next day they all returned home, sighing. "Ugh...why can't weekends last forever?" Lili sighed as they drove back to Trinity. They all heaved in and packed their rooms back up and went to the lobby, meeting up with Diago. "How was London?" He smiled. "Great!" they all responded, before settling back into depression that they weren't there anymore. They all went to class and met up and saw a movie. The rest of the week went the same way, they're usual routine becoming all they knew.
As days started to run together, the group finally found salvation when Christmas break rolled around. Riley hadn't thought of it, but he didn't have anywhere to go, or the money to rent a hotel room for the two week break. Sarth and Lili were staying at Lili's place, of course. Felix and Diago were going to stay with Diago's parents. Blizz would probablly be going back to the states for the break, so Riley was lost. He couldn't stay at Trinity, and he didn't think he could go with Blizz. He couldn't stay with Desmond, either...
He slumped in his chair with his suitcase as Blizzard walked bye. "Hey Riles! Ready to go?" Riley looked at him curiously. "What do you mean?" Blizz smiled and grabbed his shoulder. "Your coming with me back to the States, right?" Riley was surprised. "Wait...you want me to go with you?" "Of course, love!" Riley smiled and hugged Blizz tightly. "I DID get two tickets, silly otter." he licked Riley's ear, then helped load up the luggage into the airport bus the school had provided. Riley sighed a little bit. He missed the states a bit..it'd be nice to get back for a bit.
"So, we're staying with your parents?" he smiled. "Well...sorta. They're more staying with me, they live with me and watch my house while I'm at school." Riley grinned. "So, you have your own place?" Blizz nodded, nuzzling Riley softly. "Mhm, my grandma gave it to me in her will." Riley frowned. "Oh...sorry to hear that.." Blizz still smiled. "It's fine, that was ages ago." Riley fell asleep against Blizz's chest, squeaking softly when the bear wrapped his big arms around him. "Sweet dreams Riles."
They arrived at the airport not too long after. They got to they're gate and got on the Air Lingus plane, cuddling up in a row. No one took the third seat, so they had plenty of room. They both slept, listening to Riley's iPod. They arrived about 5 hours later, and the attendant roused them both. "We've landed, please collect all personal belongings and have a great evening." Riley smiled a little bit and got all his stuff and walked through the hangar walkway, holding Blizz's paw. A few people stared, which he just stuck his tongue out at.
Blizz's parents met them at the luggage claim, grinning. His mother instantly gravitated to Riley. "So you're Blizz's mate! I always knew he had good taste! I'm Maria, great to meet you Riley!" Riley grinned, surprised at how friendly both his parents were. His father came up next. "Nice to meetcha, Riles." he shook the otter's paw, smiling and giving a thumbs up. "We were waiting for him to find The One...a bit surprised your an otter, but hey, what's good for Blizz is good for me." Blizz blushed a little. "Yeah, guess I forgot to say you were an otter..." he whispered to Riley. Riley shrugged and hugged Blizz close. "Your parents are awesome!" Blizz smiled. "They're a bit too flattering at times, but yeah, they're good folks."
The mates retireved their luggage and hauled it out to the car and drove to Blizz's house, which was actually rather nice. It had 3 floors and a huge pool out back, although he figured it made sense that polar bears would have a pool. They unpacked Riley's things into the spare room, then they settled into Blizz's room to watch a movie while cuddled up in bed. Riley kissed Blizz's muzzle. "I love you Blizzard." Blizzard hugged him close, pulling him onto his belly. "Love you too, Riley."
They fell asleep like that, then woek up early for a little swim. It had snowed lightly, which Riley wasn't used to. "Does it usually snow up around here?" He nodded. "Pennsylvania doesn't get ALOT of snow, but it gets a bit. It makes the water nice and chilly though~" Riley nodded. "Do you heat the pool to keep it from freezing?" He shook his head. "Nope, it's a salt water pool, so it doesn't really ever freeze." Riley grinned. "That's so cool!" he got up onto the diving board and dove straight to the bottom of the pool, looking up through the water. He smiled up at his bear, as pale beams of sunlight made his white fur shine a with a golden touch. He surfaced and tackled him, laughing.
They eventually got out and went inside to eat breakfast with Blizz's parents. They instantly started to abrrage him with questions: "Are you a sea otter or a river otter?" "Why don't you live with your parents?" "Are you originally from the states? You don't have an irish accent!" Riley gulped. "Well, i'm a bit of both, my Dad was a sea otter, and my Mom was a river otter. I don't live with them because they didn't want me there, so I left, I used to live in Florida, i'm just going to colledge in Ireland, I might move there eventually, or I might stay here with Blizz." They were satisfied with that and remained fairly quiet. Maria decided to drag Riley off to get winter clothes, because all he had with him were spring or summer clothes.
Riley returned, holding a mountain of bags. "I'm back..." he said, thanking Maria then going to his room and packing them into his dresser. He sighed and went to Blizz's room, flopping onto the bed next to him. "Your. Mom. Is. A. Shopaholic." He muttered before falling asleep.
