I haven't seen Rise of the TMNT yet, but I can't help but look at that Splinter and think "that guy takes pratfalls" Also he's fat, so that's a plus in my book.

Thank you! I always feel like the odd man out when I admit that I love the Rise version of Splinter simply because he's fat. That scores BIG points with me and I'm so glad to see that you share that same adoration.
He's very different from the other Splinters. At the beginning of the series, he does not make a good first impression. However, as the series progresses, he gets a lot of character development.
