Philomela Cannot Drink Potions Properly - By Archery
Archery indulged me on a joke... well... yeah, i'm using Philomela as a D&D character for basically exploring her behaviour and stuff (also: π©&π€)
>.>

*coff*
Part of the joke is that while for the rules she is a warforged (built by an aarakocra, because might as well) so she should be able to take advantage of potions and stuff... i like to basically highlight that it's quite a sloppy thing and all but elegant, because the fluids seep through her many cracks in her plating... she is not exactly waterproof.
Philomela's felt her timepiece's balance and barrel flutter, winding and unwinding. The mainspring's pressure on the barrel felt immense. Her brain's tick-tock and those blasted metal high heels that she could not remove felt like thunders around her as she tried to discern what was happening. She had to calm herself down, she did not like it at all here, but was on a quest to find some kind of answer. Even thinking at what the gnome said made her paranoid and that was bad because that was more of her mechanical brain tick-tocking... but aimlessly. So she set herself to work and she set herself to see what was around here that could be useful and what she could understand about it... a couple of clacks confirming that the internal levers shifted the camme followers to the new settings and she started her plan. She opened her beak and "drank" the potion... which promptly fell out of the many gaps of her beak and head and neck. The liquid kept spreading while covering her with something that looked like paint and seemed to cover her with what was behind her. Until she was completely invisible.

Maybe she will use special oils? Hmm...Magic oils? I don't know ^.=.^"
Not as far as i know, no.
She would not have a place inside where to put it anyway.
... also: what would be the purpose? She's clockwork and wound by magic.

I never knew the conversation had gone forward. But if you are talking about Appleseed, then yeah, that was fun too.

Gits and shiggles, eh? Tu <
Yeah, looking at this, I definitely have more questions regarding sentient constructs, such as warforged...
I know one big rule, typically, is that they can't use normal magical healing, be it potions or basic spells. Instead, toolkits and repair checks are often used, as well as "mending" spells. These usually heal less than traditional healing, offsetting the often hardier nature of the constructs.
But that's me just nerding out. :B
By the sounds of your story vignette, she managed to design potions that work despite her unusual anatomy. I could definitely see amusing happenings during her earlier years of learning alchemy, however, where they were far less... useful. X3
D&D is always great for fleshing out creative takes on things. ~u ~

I mean... that was 3.5th edition. In 5e they can drink potions fine. Plus... this was an invisibility potion which would have worked even in the pathfinder version. π
It's the quickest way to distribute lubricant to a lot of parts at one time.
